| Simply: who do you prefer between Mello and Near? (really, not who's the best) I personally like Mello, because he's not afraid of his emotions and he's able to make up his mind even when there's got to take important or crucial decisions. Near, even if it's smarter, I think, it's too cold. |

| Mello is too aggresive and rash, although he's only trying to compete. In the end, it was part of his effort that helps Near capture Kira. Near gets my vote. He's calm, not overconfident, and know his limit. Not to mention that he have very similar attribute to L - even Light-kun felt the same aura as L over the phone. |

| Neither! They both sucked ass and ruined the series completely. It should have ended after L died and left a gap for imagination. Without them, Death Note would have been the best animu evar :c. I even think the OVA was better than the series because of that. |

| I don't knoiw about all that. I'll give you it certainly could have been presented better, but I liked Mello and Near's part in Death Note. It expanded the story in a way that L never could have taken it. (Even though I prefer L over both of the two combined. ^^;; ) Anyway, just out of the two choices I'd have to go with Mello. He was a bit more hardcore than Nello was. |

| Aaannndd in comes the rabid L (and/or) Light fangirls.... I prefer Mello, I can identify with his constant struggle to be the best. We are both a bit competitive...heh. But otherwise I am way more cheerfull. Scarily enough when I read 13, we are born a few days apart in the same month/year. |

| I vote Mello!~ In the beginning I pretty much hated both Near and Mello thinking they were spoiled little brats and didn't deserve to be L's successors. However when Mello kidnapped Sayu - he caught my attention. I liked his brashness and the way he presented himself - even though the chocoalte biting was a bit creepy... Anyways, Near was a cheap L imitation. He just reminded me way too much of a child, even though he was 17 near the end of the series!~ Well, Mello get's my vote. He was much cooler than Near - and the fact that he died was pretty cool. Matt, Mello's right hand man, was pretty cool too~ xD |
