Those exact words came to mind when i say that kiss. Sigh

I wish the fangirls would actually be interested in the story but as you can see they are on track Fangirlbots.

It's disturbing how the fangirls have such a one track mind when it comes to yaoi scenes. =_= Glad Nezumi punched him though for that kiss he gave. :] But now this sort of causes problems since I said to my friend the yaoi in it was superficial and fangirls were just exaggerating it. Now I feel like a liar and have to correct myself. :\ It's still worth watching to me just I hope nothing goes beyond that lol.

I don't think it's that bad for the fangirls to be excited over the kiss. It's what gives this series that extra wow factor for them. It doesn't necessarily mean they're not into the story.

Honestly, the kiss scene wasn't that bad, and could have been worse.

I get my wow factors for this series from more subtle things. Like Shion's daydream in the first episode, and his fascination with the wind. One of the biggest was the deep scene with Shion shouting out, back at the Moondrop. I don't really know what was so compelling about that scene. It was just the atmosphere of it.

To each his (or her) own, I suppose is the way this should be viewed.

Okay, so I'm not a hardcore yaoi fan or anything, but when Sion kissed Nezumi and I noticed that it was a peck I started freaking out because I was freaking out.

I mean, I was initially freaking out because I saw them really kiss and I was like, "WTFFFFF," but then when I saw it was a peck I started to freak out for no apparent reason, suggesting that I was expecting more. So in the end I freaked out even more.

It makes sense if you don't think about it. Anyways, I agree about how this is all coming along a bit too slowly. Now as much as I want Sion to save Safu, I have this bad feeling that I just can't shake off. When they reunite...first of all, Safu would be kind of confused cause of his white hair.
Then comes the super boring explanation but then after that comes either one of the following: 1) a kiss 2) a hug or 3)someone falls down into a pit of nothingness (I was trying to be a little creative on this one, hehh ;DD it's not going to happen though)

However, there is a chance Safu only liked Sion's hair and therefore totally hates him now but that's highly unlikely to happen (sorry fangirls, I was trying to be creative again). I'm just going to be kind of freaking out when it all happens in front of Nezumi. He'll either shake it off or get srsly pissed. Like, seriously. But Sion's a total airhead so he wouldn't notice even if someone held a sign right in front of his face reading 'Nezumi's jealous of you'. Sigh, that's just how Sion is.

I do not exactly like to see a kiss between two guys, i am straight and therefore way more interested in the opposite sex, but dropping it because of this? Especially if it was foreshadowed since ep. 1, though it was not clear if they would actually go so "far".

Reducing this nice anime with a lot of stuff happening to a series of BL scenes is not what the writers would have wanted. They can do an omake for this. Or just use the gif, if that scene sums up the whole anime for you :)

The punching part was funny, though i knew Sion was going to punch bag the moment Nezumi showed him the scroll. He should have expected it.

Safu being used as experiment is worrying. Though that explains where all the people go they take in. The propability of it not being related to the wasps is pretty much nonexists, unless the hid something even more horrifying. But even if, it's still most likely related to the wasps, and they are only the start,

This. Though less on the kiss and more on the feelings in the park. The emotions they expressed there made their love 100% more real than any silly kiss could possibly do.

Dropping this anime just because two guys kissed is completely ridiculous, as is fawning over the kiss scene as it is an amazing moment of plot development (It isn't, the real juicy part comes in the park). The fans of this show disappoint me.

Within the show itself, the talk in the park affirms how close the two boys are more than the kiss, but what scene is honestly the more "risky" of the two? The scene where--in a series that isn't marketed as BL--two boys kiss, or the scene in which two boys have a fist fight to loosen their tongues in order to express themselves? If you said the fist fight, you're wrong.

That's why the kiss gets so much attention. Not because it was more important to the story, but because it defined a relationship that people were previously wasting time arguing about in a way that leaves very little room for doubt or alternate explanations.

Well, I don't think any Nezumi/Sion supporters have to worry. Sion only sees Safu as a friend. This from the beginning and until the end of the novel. His feelings for her never change. He never comes to see her past being a friend.

Besides, the author herself said in an interview that "Sion is definitely in love with Nezumi." And about Nezumi she said, "that it wasn't exactly clear in he was also in love or just scared." So the Nezumi/Sion relationship is pretty much canon/mutual

Also....NOVEL SPOILERS UP AHEAD

I do agree with what you're saying, yet it just feels so shallow that people place so much emphasis on a simple kiss. Farewell kisses between guys isn't THAT big of a deal (At least not outside of America, from what I can tell). I honestly don't see why people wasted time trying to deny the forming relationship between Sion and Nezumi, when anyone with some form of basic understanding of character development and relationship development could glean that much earlier in the show.

I did enjoy the scene, and got a little giddy that someone FINALLY decided to do a non Uke/Seme relationship in an anime, I guess I am just disappointed in everyone acting so shallow over it and not appreciating the show as a whole. Or treating a serious piece of development as pointless fanservice.

agree 100%

sure i loved the kiss too (OMFG BONES WENT THERE I DIDN'T THINK THEY HAD IT IN THEM) but i was much much happier about the park scene.

anyway. my ~thoughts and feelings~ on this ep will have to wait (not that anyone cares). i have to watch it on a comp that actually has audio. (-_-;)

but i'm still really, really worried about the ending. i don't know how they'll shove in the action and certain developments/revelations without being super-rushed or seeming like asspulls. is there REALLY no second season/extra OVAs planned? GDI this really should have been longer. *crais*

Ok, so Nezumi said he won't accept anymore "good-bye" kisses but I have a funny feeling at the end of this series that they are going to part ways. So, I'm sure they'll kiss again, but wouldn't that be exactly a "good-bye" kiss?

KYAAA moment. I can't stop grinning at the kiss scene. The love for BL-ness just can't be suppressed in me in that kind of scene. LOL
Anyway, so it was a goodbye kiss after all. The lavish dinner was supposed to be the last dinner of Shion with Nezumi. I love their conversation during that time. Nezumi trying to probe by being casual. Shion was so calm. I think that scene impresses me. Ah yes, the punch scene. I was thankful there was some actions again. Hopefully, there will be more action scenes in the upcoming episodes. I like the current pacing but it's already episode 7 out of 11. Hopefully, they speed up the story...but without being rushed.

Someone said that the fangirls only care about the kiss, that is not true. What makes it exciting is that males in anime always have more intense relationships then straight couples but they are often played off or left open so people can think they are friends example Naruto.

It is great to see the malexmale relationship getting close like the dancing the open way of saying how they feel the kiss, and all this is a futuristic action suspense series. That is whay it is great. I wish there were more shonen ai relationships in shonen type stories. The male relationships are just more angst and intense then straight relationships, and most female anime characters are annoying.

Now Sofu is not annoying and airheaded like most, but I can say Shion will not end up with her but that is all I will say.

I also love seeing males who are ok with seeing this and can actually be that open minded. I would be ok if it were girls as long as the girls are not airheaded bimbos. I have no problem with Yuri.

Meh, this is nothing. I could honestly say that if they were both girls, that i wouldnt have screemed in shojo ai pleasure. It wasnt a kiss of gay love, but it was what Shion called it. a "good bye" kiss. Because he was planning on probably never see him again. That scene fit japanese culture of men relationships spot for spot. Honestly, I wouldnt even consider that a kiss. In place of it, in a north american anime, it might have been a sentimental hug. There were no sounds, no returns, during "the smootch". Just touch. Had they have been girls that wouldnt have been thought it to be "lesbian" at ALL. Unless, ofcourse, you misunderstood the meaning of the word "gay".

If it wasn't for Safu being in a test tube for unknown reasons I would have dropped this..Also interested in seeing how things will turn out with Karan & Youming, investigating no.6....Honestly, more plot should go into this series - the idea is so interesting, i don't feel like there's any need for more bonding between the two then this. I guess, I would have been less disappointed if this was labeled shounen ai when it first started airing...

lols me too sortof. But I think that it still may be SafuxShion in the end. Possibly, no? Its also not yet a shonen ai either. That would be more like Shion and Nezumi openly making out with each and every episode. This is just Shojo. Its like how in some Ecchi Shonens the girls "touch" each other. Or maybe its not even as much like that.

Man oh man. I AM SAD.

I am just disappointed in how continuously the crazy-obsessive nature of their relationship just doesn't come across in the anime like in the novels. I mean, both characters are so damn messed up and all this animu does is shows them dancing and tralala'ing in the dismal surrounding, quick kiss and then weak ass punches like some kindergarten playground crap.

This relationship, bromance or whatever the hell you want it to be, is scary shit. Not School Days nice boat level, mind you, but it's damn well near it in terms of obsession and mental imbalances. I hope these later eps bring it out more <_<

Oh hellllll no. School days? That anime scared me to death and this
anime is nowhere as insane and freaky as School Days. Ugh, even saying the name
disgusts me. At least in No. 6 they know pretty darn well who they all like and their
feelings are settled. In School Days, it was ALL OVER THE PLACE.

I agree. I've come to the conclusion that Sion will see Safu and she'd be all like,
"SIONNNN~ HELPP ME!!" and then he'd save her and she would, you know, do the usual. Confess. Tell her story, and everything she said to him will fly straight through his left ear and out the right and he'd reply with something like,"Sorry, I see you only as a friend," and she'd either turn emo and kill herself or do something really stupid like sacrifice herself for a cause so then she could see her as a better person or whatever.
It actually depends on what kind of person she is, which right now I'm kind of seeing the second choice. (This is all my opinions, it's probably not going to happen and I really don't care what happens to her, but this is just me being creative...again.)

I'd have to agree on this one too. I'm not a fangirl, but yeah.
Also, I'd just like to point out that in Naruto, that may not be the case because
in Naruto 98% of the characters all need to be sent to an asylum and deal with each of their individual mental problems. Sasuke sure as hell does not have any feelings for Naruto since he's a complete nutcase who's high on 'revenge' and is on
his way to becoming a psycho serial killer. Naruto has his own problems.
I don't see how the two can even hold hands anymore (sorry fangirls) unless Sasuke
grabs a huge butcher knife and chops a bunch of innocent people while Naruto holds his hand 'trying to stop him and help him' so that he could become hokage.

(yeah, I'm not such a big fan of the anime Naruto. I don't really hate Naruto or anything, I just hate sasuke. And sakura. And pretty much everyone else . Excluding Lee.)

I completely believed this was going to be a sad one.
When I kept seeing there'd be a good-bye kiss, I expected Nezumi to let Sion leave to save Safu (a waste on Nezumi's part). I didn't expect the whole punching scene to end with them explaining themselves and making their friendship work out (though when it happened I wasn't too surprised). I very much liked that scene. Plus, now they have to find Safu and the story will pick up...
How did Karan's friend hear her questioning No. 6?

I hope not-I feel like she'd live, because she was the sample for something- maybe they'll use her genes for something, or make a copy of her?

Very excited for the next episode- maybe it'll explain why the Dogkeeper wanted Nezumi to sing at his death so badly? I don't think Nezumi has a special power, though that may be why he was in the facility. I just hope the story will be told out thoroughly with only 4 episodes left.

It's not the show I'll be dropping but reading the discussions afterwards. Sick of seeing all the homophobic comments. Especially from people who add 'And yeah, I'm a girl' Well aren't you a special little snowflake? What do you want, a round of applause? Gender doesn't come into it. You're still just posting discriminatory messages. I'm disgusted by anyone who is rating the episode lowly simply because of one tiny kiss. I guess I'll just go rate any episode I see where there's a heterosexual kiss included with a 1 because by your standards that's acceptable. For crying out loud /end rant.

Sure, "fangirl" comments which ignore discussing any of the actual plot in favour of long strings of exclamation marks and capitals annoy me too but I just scroll past them.

YESH! You're completely right about that. I mean it's just so lame that this show has so much hate because of one measely kiss. I feel like there will not be much more to come in this department (as much as i'd like for there to be it just seems like something i shouldn't get my hopes up about)

I've gotta say that that these bitches posting their ignorant comments really are annoying. Fangirlin' is one thing but why even pick up a show in the first place like No. 6 if all you're gonna do is bash it. The first episode alone foreshadowed a relationship beteen Nezumi & Shion for christ sake's look at the opening theme... Get over yourselves and move on if it's not your cup of tea. Don't come here and harrass us kids who love this kind of love in anime. It's just ignorant and makes us all think you're a douchebag.

Good episode! Only four eps to go, I hope there is a second season cos I would hate to see this show have a rushed ending (never read the novel or manga, so I'm not sure).

Did anyone else feel like that scene at the end of the episode looked like it came straight out of Final Fantasy VII? The Sector 5 slums with the busted up playground. It had the same ~aura~.

Good episode. I hope they work together and kick some serious butt ;D

I actually saw that connection as well (its not hard to anyways for those that remembered FFVII);
despite being a guy i think nezumi x shion actually looks pretty good, especially personality wise and hey gotta hand it to shion to be brave and kiss him up front, it looks like shion's shaping out to be a better protagonist too
oh and yay they made up :3 well everyone basically made up this episode >_>;
the city's secret (at least part of it) and nezumi's past seems to be up for next epi, cant wait~

Btw it's not yaoi fanservice, it's was in novel, and not yaoi either. Two same sex ( yes even guys ) can kiss each other on lips and stay as best friends. Just that not lot people like the idea kissing their friends or best friends.

So the kiss is in the novel. Was it written with more romantic connotations then what was shown? Cause otherwise this is a fairly tame kiss (both closed lips).
Which leads me to believe that it was more a sign of gratitude and friendship than romantic. The possible two meanings are quite different and have implications for the rest of the story. Can some make it clear which one it is meant to be.

Now that the fujoshi-tachi are happy, I'm not. I totally agree with the people saying "damn it, damn it, damn it" instead of "kyaa~~~"
However, this episode felt so short; it was as if it was just 10 minutes. This show does really interest me even though it has shounen-ai BL; I do like the basic concept of the story.
Is it just me or does EVERY show and series nowadays has a tsundere in it? A tsundere once in a while is not bad, but the amounts keep increasing by the season.
And it seems the ending has changed a little bit.
