So, I was lurking on Facebook the other day just for the hell of it and almost everyone I know has a kid already, or at least expecting one. I'm like, come on, bro. Why deny yourself of what little freedom you have so early? Don't you wanna just chill without being burdened with taking care of another life? I don't get, bro :/

Yeah, a bunch of them had some while we were still in school, too.

I wish this wasn't the case, because a lot of them are cute, too, and I prefer not to date anyone with a kid(s).

Looking at my old classmates, the pattern is quite obvious. Of those that have kids already, the overwhelming majority were all bad seeds that never got much in way of education.

Tons of people don't plan on it, but that doesn't mean that they have to go through with having it.

Abortion, anyone?

This age was the normal age, if not a late age, to get kids 100+ years ago (well, depends on social class and the welfare of the state obv).

Nothing wrong with having kids this early, except that since natural selection has pretty much been stopped amongst humans, the bad gene pool is growing ; /

Abortation has a price though, and most of those people are students, or in case of /bad seed, have shitty jobs. Then there's religion. Or the fact that you're killing a will-be human, same blood as yours.

Depending on your morals, that's understandable. But, if the option is plausible towards the individual, then there shouldn't be any problems. Will there be some backlash? Of course. However, that's simply a small factor to pay in order for one's happiness in the long run.

It doesn't really matter. They're going to have kids anyway. Right now they just can't afford it. Some people just shouldn't be allowed to have kids at all.

It's better to when you actually make the appropriate preparations beforehand as apposed to when it inevitably happens. Why shoulder the burden of caring for another when you can barely do so for yourself?

I don't think you get it. Some people just can't afford to have an abortion, financially. There are free clinics that provide abortions for free, but they aren't too well known.

Bah...there are 3 or 4 of my friends who got a baby at the age of 14-16....
Totally disagree with this because now they're all unemployed and therefor don't have enough money to care for a baby because the father ran away and their parents don't have enough money.
If kids are too stupid to prevent pregnancy then please god make it so that they all get kids and a good lesson for life.
May they do better in their next one.........

The real question is "Why does everyone want to have kids, period?".
Everyone seems to be obsessed about having babies, and yes, not adult people only. Some young girls really can't wait to give birth, meh.
We're overpopulating Earth, so I'm against having babies on principle.
If you really want a baby so bad, adoption is a better choice. This way you make a good action, as you help a child in need, plus you don't have to suffer insanely because of giving birth.
But, of course, I don't understand why plenty of girls have a child when they're barely 18. Camon, you're still an adolescent, it's like a baby having a baby, that's sick.
I also don't understand those people who have more than one child. Thank you for contribuiting to overpopulating our planet, eh.
Moreover, I hate how everyone actually thinks that every female on Earth should have, or wants to have, a baby. That's a extremely sexist and traditional belief which I strongly disagree on. I personally hate children with a passion, so I'm never going to have one, also for the overpopulating matter. I easily care more about the Earth than humans.

I fully agree. Some people should just be castrated, so they won't spread their bad genes around the world.

From all my known 16-18 aged girls, the ones who have a baby are well, not quite good looking ones. There's only one that is hot and has a baby at the of 18, but well, that was unplanned, but she didn't make an abortion.

Either way, all of my know girls that are beautiful don't even think about having a baby, one of the reason I hear quite a lot is that they will get fat while in pregnancy and the other is, that in my country it would be too hard to rise a kid at that age.

Oh goodness everything this person here said! I've always wanted to adopt, but when I tell people that they have such genuinely horrified reactions that it's a little scary. It's like if the kid isn't related to me by blood, it doesn't count as actually raising the child. Um...? Sorry. And here I thought when people say they want to be parents they mean it. Apparently they just want their own little clones and don't think much beyond that. I think the best part is when they lecture me about how I'm not giving these non-existent children a chance to live, even though they're never going to exist in the first place. /rant

*Cough* But yeah, I know a couple of KIDS, fresh out of high school that already have babies. It's weird. All I can think is they are giving up the best part of their lives and for what? So some other kid can grow up, get knocked up early and repeat the process? Come on now people. To those who actually plan it... ugh. And to those who don't plan it, the least they could have done was use their contraceptives properly.

Step into my shoes, now imagine having friends who had kids at 10 and 12. Now think of the unfortunate implications to their life from having kids at such an abnormally young age.

From my point of view, they wanna lose their virginity. Which I think it's stupid to lose their virginity at such a young age!
Besides, if you know anyone is gonna have a kid, how are they gonna raise them, and with what money? Raising children ain't cheap!
I want a kid myself but I'm an adult now so I can do whatever with my life!
But having a kid while still underage and going to school will give them hell. Most teen mom will likely to drop out of school and get a job to raise their kids. Not to mention that all the young kids in this century are idiots and they could be the reason they're overpopulating the human race!

Oh my goodness, that's awful :( Where is this? What about people who are forced to have a child because they couldn't afford an abortion? That's just sick. It's $1000 here, but if you can't afford it they arrange something for you!

Several people from my high school graduating class already have kids. Some of them were pregnant while in school. When you look WHO had the kids, like mentioned before, it's pretty obvious. Kids from low-income, poorly educated families who didn't care much for getting their own education while they were in school and can't hold down a decent job. The people who do drugs and drink and have otherwise no benefit to society.

I don't know about all of them, but I think most of teenagers having kids is: Condoms are horrible, they make it less fun, for the most part you have to buy them, you have to have them when your in the mood.

Fuck the condom or trying to get one, so here comes baby!

I could have a child out there, I slept with a girl a few years back and 8 or so months later she had a kid.

Surely I won't be taking no test just so i can give away part of my pay check.

@Hoppy: I learned that info from a x girl friend when I was sixteen.

She pulled out of one of her dresser doors a white paper bag full saying these are here just in case.
I asked asked were she had obtained so many so easy, that was the day I learned that.

I know what you mean. It's ridiculous how many girls from my old school have had children already, two girls are even pregnant with their second child.

I mean, fair enough if you KNOW you're ready, you're fully capable and prepared for it (like having your own income/job/time/place) and ofcourse also being happy with your partner. It's stupid when people have been dating a few odd weeks or months and deliberately have a baby, then break up a few weeks along the line. (and I know this has happened and can happen even if you've been dating a long while but atleast make it longer than a few weeks before you decide you want a baby)

Just the simple thought of it scares me. I'm not capable of looking after myself let along a baby. So for me, it's still a long while off.
