shes a klutz right? so how can she be good at sports? lol? .....I was expecting her to flop and fall face into the ground when she was playing basketball.
Glad I wasn't the only one bothered by this.
Personally, I'm rather disappointed in this Saya. She fits the Blood Series' Saya bill, but only barely. Maybe it's because I'm having a hard time seeing her transition from Mary-Sue!Saya to killer!Saya, but it's all disappointing.
First off, during her school days, Saya is painfully a Mary Sue. Maybe it's all an act she puts on, but regardless it's just painful to watch. She's clutzy, yet she's good at sports. She is oblivious to the cute but dorky Chairman's advances, but is practically flinging herself on Mr. Dark and Mysterious. Now, all of her cheerful attitude and ditzyness MAY be legit, but I seriously doubt it.
First off, where is the mental break? Where is the whole issue of Saya balancing regular normal life at school and fighting dangerous monsters that kill people at night? Fighting monsters is no day at the park, anyone who is normal would have some kind of episode where they can't handle all of the stress and danger that the job takes. There is just no transition from day!Saya to night!Saya, which either means that day!Saya is a lie/fake or that Saya has a bit of a personality disorder.
The possibility of a personality disorder is strong though, especially when one considers that they have yet to discuss matters at what happened to her mother. My guess is that if Saya does have a mental issue, it would stem from losing her mother to the job of fighting monsters or seeing her mother get killed by them. That would make a lot of sense, but knowing how this anime is going, they probably won't choose a route like this.
Speaking of which, am I the only one who is confused about Saya's origin? I mean, I know it states that the guy she lives with is her father (I forgot his name...), but to be honest, they really don't act much like parent and child. Also, the fact that he can send Saya off to go kill monsters without a single worry confuses me. I mean, if he REALLY lost his wife to the monsters and did care for his wife and his daughter, he would NOT send his daughter out to kill dangerous monsters. Any good parent wouldn't send out their kid to fight monsters or at least be incredibly reluctant to do so. And on that note, what makes Saya so special that she alone has to fight these monsters? Because besides the red eyes, there isn't much to hint that she specifically is required to kill them, like in Blood+.
Anyway, I think that this series has a lot of questions that need to be answered soon, the biggest one is regarding Saya's role towards the monsters and her origin. |
