In reply to
Ryansaotome and Xeo: I have finished watching, analysing and collecting my thoughts just minutes ago, and I am glad that someone else managed to catch that screenshot showing cruxified beheaded people. This hints at what Mani gets as a treatment from that witch, charlotte. Also, Yumekichi11 showed the screenshot of the cup breaking, which symbolise the passing of Mani. (At least this show is not very abstract like ef). Pretty comfrims that Mani is out of the equation, to put it very very nicely.
Yumekichi11: Lol, the decapiated heads showed neatly how she is treated. And lol, she was careless. Remember the "mistake" that Threasa made in the Claymore anime (assuming that you watched it; I read the manga). Also, it is easier to see things from a third person perpective or in retrospect. In the anime, i suspect that both have a deep emmitty towards each other. So when distrust happens, the result will happen and then the outcome.
And in reply to one of your spoilers, I also wonder why they choose the medical + food theme. They do not juxtapose with each other naturally. Also, I have halfway through another german literature that has some reference to Faust; It is called The Steppenwolf. And in that book, the world that Steppenwolf describes is just like what you are mentioning, an introspection of yourself. And I will start reading the Goethe's Faust by the next week or so. I have the nagging feeling that those shaft guys have analysed that story in detail and have twisted it in such a way that we could not draw any direct conclusion piror to it. As a troll msg 4fun: "Yes, Japanese guys learn German literature. Trollers should be ashamed of themselves"
To be frank, I do not know much about the symbol either. It looks like a combination of the "sweet" face and a mouse body. No reference either. I am a chinese, brought up via chinese culture, so my knowledge of japanese culture is limited as result.
And yes, it is much more scary than the second episode, as much as it is cuter.
Endtime: Ahh, so you have translated it for all of forum users, thanks for the effort. Why the name Charlotte? I believe that it has no major significance. Charlotte in german means free man, which does not give any hints at all. A google search of that name revealed insignificant matches at all. I would encourage you, to read that thick book soon, as what i have mentioned above. I have a feeling that those Shaft guys knew what are they referencing to.
Charliehsv: I can't deny that your statement makes sense on the superfical; in fact, those familar with the story will draw a similar conclusion with you (this is what i also suspected at first), but on the account that I have not started reading that book (I only read the summary), i will put a question mark on that one. However, I have a nagging feeling that there is more to that. I will conclude the validity of your statement once i have finished that book. An unlearned man is not qualified to speak, right?
Just as a added note, remember the brief screenshot with the cruxified beheaded men with symbols of the cross? It has connections to what you are saying as well; she will be killed, while she is in a elated mood. I dont think it has much to do with religion through, to clarify.
Grummel: Ahh, from the second part of Faust, after the tradegy of Grestchen right? Unfortunately, as much as this is a fact, it does not justify your hypothesis. It has no direct references.
Oh yeah, just as a note: the japanese words that you saw in the illusion world, it can be read in chinese and it is a direct translation for operating theatre. Why the anime protray a caged door with the witch egg inside and the fork around it?
Also, the numbers that most of you should have noticed; does anyone have any idea what is it about? So far, I have not gathered any materials about the significance of the numbers.
Just as a reference:
Anime time Number from left to right
12:03 5391
12:06 141
12:09 142
12:10 14
13:19 143
13:24 234
Also, is anyone fluent in german here? Translate this please, (Google translate is a pain to use):

Edit: Expired link; does not matter; refer to next page.
And the very important question out of my many questions: What is that magic in the world of puella magi madoka magica? As far as I am concerned, certain screenshots disproved my illusion theory. Now i am thinking of it as a magical dimension (proably a 2.5d dimension). And i am not going to bring the concept of time; it is areadly confusing enough.
Hopefully, the few gentlemens at /a/ will manage to deduce some more intresting stuff. I do respect them for their sucessful attempts (through the words are just coded with a simple subsitution clipher) at breaking the code.
Edit: Damm mother hubbard of the internet. First TF2 Discriminates mini sentries, then internet discriminates my com, and incriminates lagging. Also, adding screenshot. |
