| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- What did everyone think of it? I haven't played Devil May Cry so the only thing I know is that he's a Devil Hunter and I don't know any of his history. Was he actually the "Tony" people thought he was? |

| Through most of the episode I was thinking "is he Tony or not? Which is it?" but yeah, it's pretty obvious he was that Tony by the end. Pretty good episode. |

| Since many seem to wonder... I have played all games that came out thus far... a guy named "Tony" or Dante using this alias is never mentioned even once... But it´s not impossible since the games don´t cover his childhood or anything... So... be at ease if you didn´t play... it doesn´t matter for this episode anyway... ( go play it non the less ) Anyway... good episode... I love how they put Dantes charakter together more and more, just a little bit at a time... I expected some hack & slay anime like hellsing... but for something based on dmc it has quiete short ( but intense ) action scenes... |
| I advise reading the sadly horrible Devil May Cry novels. The stories don't make much sense, but basically, Tony IS Dante. Tony is Dante while he was a bit younger and had lost all his memories. It doesn't really go into detail about the hows and whys though. I've only read the first volume, I could barely finish it. | It was very interesting episode. Finally we find out something about Dante's past. I'm only a bit disappointed that we couldn't see how he finished fight with that devil. |

| It was a good episode, but it was almost comical how quickly that guy changed his tune and shifted all the blame for the incident onto Dante. It felt very forced. With this guys logic, we might as well blame victims of burglary for daring to own anything valuable enough to be worth stealing rather than the burglar himself. |
| Hm.. So was it Dante's past after all?.. That fire in town happened, his mother was accused, and in the end he left town with his mother.. Well.. Who knows.. He's not confirming, and denying he's not too convincingly as well.. Couple of Dante's reactions suggest that he might be Tony.. Like telling about treasure.. Again doesn't confirm anything, so it's question in the end.. I think anime suggests more that it is Dante's past, after all.. |
