THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Wow, no topic yet :3

I was kinda half-expecting Xavier or any X-men to appear in this episode. Maybe it was because of that Wolverine promo at the beginning made me think of the X-men. And Aki having weird powers like a mutant. So, yeah... Aki losing her powers at the end means she's not a mutant. Too bad D:
Anyways, the whole ChikaxTony business is really weird but it's more like Tony's character to hit on girls like Aki said. At the same time, he's still way off character with the whole "We're friends" thing.
Enemy of the week defeated and he gets the girl.
Next is Iron Man vs Iron Man. How will this go.

lol @ the shameless Wolverine promo coming after the opening credits. The show's losing momentum fast though. What exactly is Zodiac's end scheme? According to Aki they hate Stark because he gets in their way, but it's more like they target Stark every episode and Stark then takes them out. The plot is really not making much sense anymore, lol.

<--wish Aki didn't leave. I loved her snide remarks on Tony's womanizing, and her personality. Would of made me look forward to this show a bit. Tony + Aki = win. Sad part is i knew she would either die of this would happen anyways.

The battle was a bit better today, and Sakurai just appears to be a pain in the butt. Enemy of the week defeated!

I really don't like Chika, but Manami is even worst. At least Chika has a brain.
(Very Good 8/10)

Oh how convenient, after saving the mutant girl she loses her memories and powers and now there is no reason to talk about her any further. Lame.

Yeah, with each episode, it's like "who's the villain this week?". Except for Yinsen in the Iron Man Duo suit, it's been a new enemy every week with no explanation why.

As for the girl, half-way through, it felt like he was going to send her to the X-men to control her powers. Especially since that Wolverine promo aired at the beginning. At this point, I'd welcome a cameo from another Marvel character, if just to give the show something new(even if it's just War Machine).

So Aki had powers like Magneto. Too bad that they didn't kept her in the show.

This was... a weird episode... a good one though, Tony felt more like Tony... Aki was kinda annoying but yet....... not annoying.

I really hope there is no development between Tony and any of the female characters... just doesn't seem right.

NEXT EPISODE THOUGH! IRON MAN VS IRON MAN! LOOKS PROMISING!

And aren't the triangular chest pieced Suits supposed to be the upgraded ones? Because the whole arc reactor system was a better one but in the shape of a triangle... or does he only use that for some suits... i'm unsure

For some reason this episode reminded me of something similar to a tokusatsu episode. (The show, I can't really remember.)

A bit-cliched episode but not too bad.

I agree with most of you, it would of been really cool if Tony sent Aki to Xavier's school for the gifted. It would of made a lot more sense.

That episode was atrocious. How can you all be so indifferent to it? And this coming from someone who's actually been enjoying Iron Man, not a hell of a lot but it's never a chore to sit through.

Well, it hadn't been a chore. 08 certainly was.

Seriously, terrible pacing that's continuously cutting forwards + constant random fading to black to transition when simply cutting to the new shot would suffice like it has in every other damn episode + lame "fight" if you could really call it that + cliche, convenient ending that totally negates the need for this episode to even exist. Just all around awful. Worst episode I've watched all year.

I would argue Ore no Imouto 8 was comparatively speaking a worse episode, but yeah. This episode really was pretty poor.

Hateres gonna hate.

In order to enjoy Iron Man you just have to keep an open mind. The show is not meant to make a lot of sense, be deep or anything like that, just watch and enjoy.

Another thing you should think of is the difference between comics and manga.

Comics have 'lighter' stories which may get 'deep' the longers the story get, but in in the end is all just randomess with good editing. While manga and most animes are (good stories or not) being think through, they understand you think about everything little detail, so they tend to think about those details too.

So don't expect for an anime based on a comic hero to compare to the best anime you have ever watched, just sit and enjoy.

This is the stance I adopt myself, although it doesn't change 08 from being a horrible episode.

Just what is Zodiac trying to do?? Each episode it's some random new machine Tony has to take down.

I too was expecting some X-Men to appear (and I didn't even watch the Wolverine trailer). Oh well. This was another enjoyable episode, although it was weird to watch Stark babysit.

I don't know but this ep was a bit better than the previous.

And finally got some giggles with it. (The Aki + Toni + Chika conversation)

Also, I don't see why you should hate the ending part with Aki. :/

This episode was okay. I didn't like Aki, she was such a little brat, and her powers were vague at best. The villain, Virgo, was just there. I didn't care for it. I liked the fight between Tony and Sakurai though, but it could have been lobger.

What a fucking terrible episode. It's pretty obvious the writers don't know what the hell they are doing.

So she's as strong as Magneto and then magically loses her powers and memory?

Plothole much?

That was stupid. She's connected to virgo, so Tony doesn't let the mech guy destroy virgo. She would've died if Virgo was destroyed. She's captured by the virgo robot. Tony rescues her, and they destroy Virgo. That doesn't make any sense. They were supposed to be connected, but it's suddenly okay to destroy it without her getting killed.

Aww, so she's an adorable Magneto? Wait, so she loses her power and memories? That sucks. Could've just sent her to Prof. X.

"Uh, it's coming... Virgo." "What's Virgo?" -_- Seriously? Tony's not so smart.

The episode felt very sweet and quite refreshing.
Tony Stark's interactions with Aki reminded me a lot of a certain episode in "Space☆Dandy", which was probably my favourite from the entire series.

At first, Aki gave me the impression that she was a clown working at Piccadilly Circus, but her backstory cleared it up a bit. Average episode, but the soundtrack was really good.

This episode was OK I guess, I mean I didn't really care for the girl, as she randomly shows up and and meddles with things, and the climax of the story was kind of dull, and she conveniently lost her memory and is supposedly happy despite all that happened to her. I don't know...pretty average.
