The OP is is pretty nice and captures the vibes of the 80s a little, though I still prefer the ED (though that might just be the nostalgia for the original theme talking. I would probably even prefer it if it was over just a simple credit scroll). Speaking of music, Yuki Hayashi's score really does so much heavy lifting for this remake and can't be praised enough.

The quick pacing that some had an issue with in the first episode shouldn't be as much of a problem now.

The only nitpicks I had with this episode were the CG vehicles and the mention of the internet. Of course, it's 2025 and that's the norm these days, but it still feels slightly sacrilegious for a remake of an 80s classic.

While Ai might believe Toshio has a sixth sense for Cat's Eye, I think it's fine tuned to target Hitomi specifically. He's quite the unintentional ally, even though he slightly derails their capers.

I was rooting for Takeuchi's karate to remove that deflatable barrier! I love how dorky the police crew is.

Toshio really can't catch a break when it comes to Cats Eye.

After the chaos and frenetic action of the first episode we have a more sensible episode that is pretty reasonable. We even find out why they are pulling heists. I think this is a huge improvement over the first episode so I'll keep watching for now.

Liked this episode a lot more than the first one. Having some sort of personal reason to steal stuff makes it more engaging I think.

I mean as long as you don't think about how they would be caught pretty much every time it's a lot of fun.

Another fabulous episode, I like how each episode gives only a little bit of essential information, not giving the whole thing in one go.

For example, while Toshio loves to flirt with Rui, Hitomi still be his girlfriend, because Toshio is already in love with Hitomi in subconscious level, he recognize the girl in the painting as similar to Hitomi, that's why Hitomi want him, also who wouldn't want a goofy boyfriend?

I really agree with this!! I thought the first episode was a bit bland to introduce these characters and world to us, but this episode made me excited for more.

You really get caught up in it, you want to know how they’ll manage to get through.
And now we know they’re doing all this mostly for theft.
I’m eager to see whether Toshio will succeed or fail his mission… that blind man.

We're supposed to believe there are no surveillance cameras to check where the so-called child is? Really the ridiculous point of this episode.

This episode was much better than the premiere!

The pace was nice. I enjoyed the safe robbery and the whole ordeal with Toshio's arrival in the middle of it. The motivation of the painting was also cool as it felt personal. Also, it was good to have a sense of relative danger for Hitomi during the climax.

The visuals haven't improved, though. The CGI during the vehicular scenes was so bad. I couldn't believe my eyes at that motorcycle, truck, and police cars.

This episode adapted chapter 9. Yep, it looks like it's going to be adapting random chapters and make the show as short as possible. Makes sense, since the manga is episodic, so a lot of the chapters feel like filler. The manga is just one of those manga just go on and on with most of the chapters being pointless and so it'd get boring after a while. So it's better this way. Just adapt the chapters that matter and are meaningful.

Logic to these crimes are so anime that it kind of breaks the illusion and how stupid Toshio is as well. Wouldn't a detective or police profile the culprits based on hair, height, body, etc and it would click who it was since they don't bother to hide faces

why are the regular people so dumb?

you can't take a pic of her wit your smartphone?

do buildings not have cameras?

i mean for the love of kamisama... DOES HE NOT RECOGNIZE THEIR VOICES AT LEAST?

i mean.. i KNOW anime loves its dumbass men... but come on now LOL

She almost gets caught. What a great team they have that help each other when they know that one of them is in a dangerous position :)

This was tricky but the power of friendship (and a boat with a matela inflatable) the young lady was safe and the paint is now in the good place!
