| Such a cool color spread with the monster trios and Nami. This flashback is insane and hilarious at the same time. Love it how the Kuja Pirates were like the idols of their time. Even Roger was simping. Luffy would never. His aura goes down while Xebec's skyrockets. But I don't mind since this part of the chapter was amusing af. We even got to see the the Empress before Hancock which Oda only mentioned in an SBS before. Rayleigh outrizzed Roger nonchalantly. In this regard Luffy is more similar to him since he also won over Boa simply by being the only man who doesn't care. Yet unlike Rayleigh Luffy really doesn't care at all. Zoro is also too focussed..for now. It's also funny how Roger didn't even settle for Gloriosa, instead he went for Rouge who funnily enough had a similar hair color. Shakky > Hancock btw This is also probably what Shakky meant when she said Garp chased her once. Silver Axe has a design that goes hard. Oda dropping that he's Shiki's rival and not expanding on it is criminal. One Piece could literally drop 100 spin offs and I would read them all. Barbell also looking crazier than when we saw a glimpse of him at God Valley. Kaido was obviously just a rookie back then. Still hilarious to see him get treated like that. And Rock's really was that guy who tried to get shit done. Yet even having the mighiest members doesn't mean shit if they can't work together. I hope this old era flashback never ends Here's more evidence that Roger isn't using his sword to cut, but as a Haki beating stick  This tells us a lot about Shanks Break next week |

| Rayleigh got winked at by Shakky and was like "yeah, time to bag this chick so I can cream pie her repeatedly." Fucking real. It was funny to see even Roger crushing hard for her lol. Poor Gloriosa. When I got to that final panel of the Rocks Pirates all I could think to myself was damn....all of these legends were really part of the same crew at one point. Still pretty crazy to think about lol. What started as a Harald/Loki flashback has turned into a flashback that's been covering a lot more narrative ground outside of the story of those 2, I feel like we might possibly see God Valley at this point. I mean, that would only be fitting since Rocks has stolen the show and the God Valley Incident is the most infamous event to which his name is attached. Oda drip fed us bits and pieces during Kuma's flashback, so what better time than now to show the full thing. |

| oda really said fuck it and started lore dropping, these kinda chapters are the best. gloriosa had a thing for roger lmao and shakky was a baddieeeee. gloriosa and shakky's dynamic was fun too. rayleigh really scored though, or more like shakky did since she seems to like him first. tritoma and empress too holy shit so she was the one mentioned in an sbs before. young roger and garp really the spinning image of luffy and ace. ida is goated too. so the rocks crew are the ones who made that iconic skull rock formation where blackbeard currently hangs out. kyo the wicked looks tuff as well, dude gives some don kreig vibes but even better. damn kaido as a rookie was getting bitched around by rocks. this flashback is peak rn and the color page was hard as well. |

| Pure cinema! One Piece Chapter 1156 is insane. Garp’s punch truly feels like a blow from hell. Even Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King himself, got his face smashed in, while Garp stood his ground, practically radiating with unstoppable aura. Despite taking Roger’s punch which drew blood,Garp looked unfazed, like he was just farming haki. This clash is legendary |

I guess Roger is too overrated all along? the more we get Xebec flashback, the more Roger seems fraud compared to Xebec. and all these love trains giving new thory in the hood. some dudes start theorizing about Roger cause of death. They said that Rayleigh is the one that makes roger sick because he want to marry Shakky but can't if Roger still alive and trying to force his way on her. They said Rayleigh might be deliberately poisoning roger food & drink a little bit at a time and it tooks 4 years to finally kill Roger. as insane as it is, that might be possible. in the name of love, some things can be absurd and crazy.. |

| Dang, young Gloriosa is far from a downer either. Love the fact that her gag dynamic puts Shakky upfront, classic Oda move. Wonder how she fell to the Xebec side. And Roger being a simp is just the cherry on top lol. My impression is that Xebec turns more like Kidd in this case, probably being hard-coded by the harsh upbringing, yet still values the camaraderie. Like, even when considering how harsh he is toward Loki (his Pal's son), but by character, I can understand if it's his violent "language" to not risk his Pal's son, who's far from ready. Also, I have a gut feeling that the downfall of the Rocks Pirates is not only because of their dynamic, but there might be some betrayal as well, or even Marine/WG infiltration. |

| Damn, Rock has basically been established as the Goat in just 3 chapters. Dude was a force to be reckoned with and he basically was the pirate kind without the title lol. I thought Rocks was a scumbag but the way he defended Harald was very noble like. Even he has standards haha. | How do you make Xebec one of the best characters in just a few chapters? Just make him do real pirate shit in a manga about pirate. Finally, a pirate who actually acts like one. The kuja pirates intro... was kind of meh. One thing that I rlly hate in OP is how Oda draws almost all the female characters the exact same way. I wasn’t expecting a Haki clash between Roger and Garp, they seem to be pretty evenly matched, which makes me even more curious about just how much stronger Xebec is. |
