Whta an episode. Ofc they wouldn't just kill Kei instantly as he has a chance to survive.

However, with the stakes so high, it looks like Kei might have to be sacrificed. Either way, this episode really pushes the boundaries of its stakes.

I don't get why Yuu was monologuing when Kei was already running out of time instead of just playing the damn match, but I suppose it was part of the story to throw those guys off.

I would have loved it if Hatori had been killed instead of being spared—he could easily come back and do the same or worse in the future.

The episode continued its serious atmosphere, with despair lingering alongside it.

Takatsu throwing the dice by going for an open Riichi, it's a gamble to get tsumo and end the farce by killing everyone. But being also able to strike a deal for his clan to survive is another matter that both Hatori and his buddy will not lose out on, though the final loser will be Yu herself seeing Kei die on the palm of his hands. But clearly, Hatori will not waver in the sight of an advantage, and the desperation from Yu and his buddy only make matters worse when the latter reveals Kei's plan to assist Takatsu before he hanged himself.

With the thought in mind, with Hatori discarding his critical tile and Yu having the final win, Kei may be out of commission for 5 and a half mins, but saving his life and making the deal with Takatsu, he has no choice but to agree to the deal.

With the lives settled, what does Hatori still need to settle with Takatsu about?

So they're gonna revive Kei with an AED machine but in exchange they will not kill Hatori eh... and of course the other guy hit his fake eye instead of the real one with the butterfly knife

Stand proud, this episode manages to measure up to Kaiji. I hope that the next episode will have just as satisfying of a payoff.
