THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.
----------------------------------------
It's finally over and while I'm glad I didn't have to read any more I didn't really feel a breakthrough, the series suddenly ended with a fairy tale ending (in reference to speed to resolve the conflict), without proper character development, there were a LOT of parts that needed to be improved and others that weren't even addressed, as I mentioned earlier, the character of Mogumo got on my nerves so I didn't enjoy the story, I guess I should be glad it ends well, but these kinds of stories that try to be realistic but in the end they solve with magic and sparkles that are not for me.
I like to post in manga forum when I feel it is worth it, so people will think. "Shit, is her again" or something.

People asked me where I read certain thing but the rules say no telling where did you read so maybe I am too boring for not saying? Or salty because you didn't check my profile that says don't ask because I hate people to ghost me after that. I love learning languages so maybe I did not read the manga in English.

I found the ending, abrupt as it was, to be satisfying in its own way. Granted, Mogumo having their dad do the heart shape was kinda cringe, but I do like that the mangaka didn't have the dad do a complete 180, admitting that there's a lot that he still doesn't understand. This is more of a "life goes on" kind of ending, where the characters still have to face their own battles, but have come out stronger through trying to understand one another.

I feel like that last arc ramped up the seriousness of the manga too much. Like up to that point, there was some fallback in lightheartedness that I could take comfort in. This arc went in and explored a dark space (self-harm and family non-acceptance) with little to no comfort, and I don't feel this fits well with other arcs in the manga. But, I got used to it over time, since there were some chapters to build up this tonal shift. But when I contrast the seriousness of this arc with this ending, I got quite a whiplash.
The buildup of the arc was to have some form of closure that matches the tone of the recent manga happenings. Yet its ending, which was composed of only 1-2 chapters, has quite a optimistic tone that fell short in tying the arc neatly together, instead making it seem like we're back to square one. I wouldn't have a problem with the ending if it had been attached with the other arcs, but it made me unsatisfied the tonal shifting happening twice in this manga. I also have some problems with the earlier chapters, but nothing as major as this. It's a shame that this is the case for a manga that dares to explore new grounds, but oh well.

I would've liked to see this continue a bit longer but I guess this is why we can't have nice things. Still, not the worst ending even if it felt somewhat abrupt

Pretty nice manga overall though. I quite enjoyed it

i found interesting the change of tone when the background of the family and Mogu-chan identity crisis was developed, and although stretching with the unsympathetic father drama for many chapters would have been exhausting, it doesnt seem very realistic that from one chapter to another became so happy-ending. obviously prefer the Mogumo family choose to be supportive rather than exclusion of a member, but i think it was too sudden.

hope they release some extra chapters to know a little more about the supporting ones. am glad Koto-chan has a group to belong to and Mogu has adapted to the class, good for Tetsu's friends. but i'd like to know more about Suzu and his boyfriend, Mei's transition, more about Sacchan backstory. well.anyway, enjoyable and accomplished depicts but the plot kinda left me wanting more.

Pain. Why does this manga have to be over??

This manga handled almost everything extremely well. Probably one of the best lgbt manga that ive read and it had a lot better grasp of gender identity than most manga do. Also compared to other manga, it was very tasteful and realistic about the lgbt aspect. It wasnt too melodramatic either. Honestly that was better than 99% of American and japanese lgbt media that ive consumed.

Im looking forward to this mangaka's future works

I haven't read the manga but why is it a "LGBT" manga?

The main character Mogumo is nonbinary and theres some trans people in the cast, gays, lesbians, etc. The story generally centers around romance and struggling with identity as well. Idk even if you dont like lgbt manga, id still recommend it. Thought it was well done.

Ah understood, I read a little bit more via the wiki, the Mogumo character was assigned as a male at birth but feels that they don't conform to either gender and identifies as non-binary. The story is about them making friends and falling in love.

It's a very "current" concept, I've not seen it before. Personally though, I don't think I would read this as I'm currently looking for mangas that are kind of like Hamefura.

Do feel like the series could've been longer, finale was a little rushed but still left it at a point where characters were still growing, so room for a potential sequel/spinoff?

It would be nice if this got an anime adaptation that perhaps used its runtime to expand on the story a little too. Unfortunately that doesn't feel likely to happen.

Well, that was a good read. As a straight person, a story about LGBT people is something mystery to me, because I can't really completely understand them. With this manga's story centered around gender, especially LGBT, this gives me atleast a few idea about people who's not straight.

I must say this was too short, but I don't mind, I'm satisfied with the ending. Best wishes for all of the characters, I had fun reading this.

the ending was a bit abrupt but im giving it a high score for being so informational. i dont think that was the entire purpose of the series but the author didnt do great work with developing characters outside of their identities. i think its okay though, especially since manga tackling topics like this rarely pop up.

8/10 from me , nice to be able to relate to the characters. and the story itself was nice. i feel like the darker parts were pretty realistic, being apart of lgbt is not easy

I didn't like it and can't understand why others do tbh.
The main character doesn't look "androgyn", they look like a fucking toddler, especially in diverse poses and gives off too much "UwU"-vibes. It's not really how I want enby people to be portrayed.

Non-binary people do not have to look androgynous

I didn't mean that. They are supposed to look androgynous by the mangaka, but they rather look and act more like a toddler. That's my hate trope in anime and manga in general.

It was ok, 6/10. The tone of the story constantly changing brought it down for me and the cast was hit or miss. I don't get the amount of praise for this title, but I wasn't bored when reading it.

The only problem I had with this series was that the dad's change of heart didn't feel particularly realistic. He was portrayed as a truly horrible and controlling person up to that moment, and I feel like the desire on the mangaka's part to give us an unproblematically happy ending may have taken prescedence over telling it like it is there. I dunno, I feel like the right move would have been to have the father continue to be as he was but have the mom side with Mogumo and have Mogumo take comfort from knowing that they have people who love them at the cafe (this would have also tied in well with the bit where Mei begs them to come back safe). Would have been messier for sure but the complete 180 the dad did rang really hollow for me. The  entire series other than that one thing though, utterly amazing.

I think is kind of nice, but dude, wtf happened at the end, I think it was an unnecessary quick cut. I really enjoyed the manga and loved the history and characters (I know they're kind of empty lgbt puppets, but I liked it anyway), but that end was just nothing, I'm feeling kind of empty rn

Pretty good, somewhere between a 7/8 of 10. One thing I noticed was that Sakura's puking wasn't addressed, I assume it was just chalked up to stressful home life due to mom and dad but figured it would be more than that.
