| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Ah yes, more storytelling between Eve and Hiro. Of course, not everything is cherry as she reveals the truth about GBN. I felt like this episode carried a level of emotional weight with these two's relationship. No doubt Eve is a special individual that Hiro remembers in his life. Even Hiro cried! |

| It's surreal yet refreshing seeing someone as stoic as Hiroto be reduced to tears upon opening up to his teammates. I liked what this backstory meant for him and how it recontextualized what the fladhbacks to the end of Divers meant for him, even if it is inherently shackled by the previous show and retains some awkward and goofy moments like May I guess sipping or kissing Hiroto's tears (she kissed his cheek but the animation conveyed that awkwardly) before laughing him. Still, what we got was generally pretty nice, and I hope tbis explorstion of Hiroto's character allows for the group dynamic to liven up that extra bit more. Seeing May hug him as he breaks down felt genuinely earned thanks to this episode. |

| I’ve always considered Gundam Build series as usually more lighthearted, even for this one, despite it being much more darker in tone than the previous series. Damn, I wasn’t expecting that severe a blindsided blow of pathos there. Probably one of the most emotional Gundam-related episodes I’ve seen up to this point. |

| This was a fantastic episode, so much feels. Eve forcing Hiroto to mercy kill her was heartbreaking |

| Though we knew what was coming more or less it was heartbreaking to see it unfold and Hiroto finally talking to his friends about his trauma. One thing I can't help but think of is Masaki. He definitely appears to be under control of Alus, shown by his actively resistance protecting those kids. But the degree of suffering he's going through, forced to watch as people he befriended die by his own hands, trapped on an alien world cut off from his own family. That's honestly worse than what any character went through in the original 0079. Even if he escapes, he'll be left with horrific ptsd from that experience. |
