Depressing ending but at least the manga was super short overall so it didn't sting as much. Everyone of worth dies and the blood sisters simply continue playing their game as to them the toying with human lives is just a way to past time with them being immortal and all.
Never heard of this author before stumbling on this series, he has good artstyle with the detail facial expressions. Probably worth checking out his other series, Suzuki-san wa Tada Shizuka ni Kurashitai, which is also pretty short.

The ending was pretty bad, I hope the MC would have stayed with the chick in the mansion instead of leaving then it would have been fine.
Yea this ending kinda sucked, also that everything that happened will happen again just to entertain them isnt a good ending IMO. I wish we would have seen how they became a blood race in the first place.
It just felt like nothing they did or died for mattered.
Well, I could say that I really like this one. The art is definitely awesome and detailed. I love how their expressions were drawn especially Miwako in the end.
When it comes to the characters, everything messed up when Chika became a blood race. But I anticipated it. I like Tamaki tho, I wish there are more scenes involving her. I would also like to see the other two sisters.
The ending wasn't really that bad but ofc I will agree with the above posters that I prefer Hiroya to stay with Miwako
The feels when Miwako was pushing his half a corpse around in a wheelchair and giving him a blanket for the cold. So in the end, the cycle starts yet again. Suitable ending but would've been nice to see a resolutiion to their game
I wonder which is worse to spend 18 years in a test tube maybe being aware of everything or abandoned and slowly devoured by insects...
But seriously what the heck is this ending... sigh, it seems like every potentially good manga I read tend to have rushed endings. It's like the whole thing revolved around Chika and once she died, there wasn't any point in continuing the manga.
The manga has a really good art though, I will check out their other works if it's as good as this.
I'm not a fan of vampire stories, to the point that I avoid most for how unoriginal and cliche they are, including this manga in the first half.
Surprisingly, I didn't hate this story in the end, even though I dislike a lot of things about it and how it starts.
Fortunately, as I chose to read this, before the publishing Mother Parasite eventually ends, which I'll binge afterwards...
this showed some talent of what I could expect from Mother Parasite, that is fairly unique in concept, with potential.
Overall, Shigahime is arguably a 5-6/10.
... Surprisingly, I dislike practically all of the characters.
Particularly, the main lead, Hirota, and shockingly, I like Soichi the most as second best.
Aside from him who I respect in the end, the character who I like the most is the male lead's girlfriend, Chika.
She's the best out of all of them. Originally, at least. After she goes mad, she's not as redeemable. Except, I believe the reason is Miwako's fault. That somehow her soul or whatever, that's inside of Chika is what influences Chika to not be herself, becomes heartless, rageful, and have a similar attitude alike Miwako, because, I guess Miwako is controlling her somewhat.
On second thought, I realize that if I believe her claim of using Soichi, she truly did, and really became jealous and uncaring of anyone and everything after she became a bloodkin.
Now that seems like another arguable flaw since these characters change so drastically.
Regardless. Point is, I dislike every character, except for Soichi and Chika.
Even if they both have their flaws from their heartless sides.
Hiroto, I can't accept though.
First, a random cliche teenager who's only character in the beginning is a tsundere who's embarassed to hold hands with his two-months girlfriend in front of his friends is fucking boring, to be the one to be chosen by a great vampiress after so many years of not having a familiar.
Just because his expressions are enjoyable to watch.
The whole femme fatale, seductress women exciting these young male teenagers is okay, but... it's poorly done and dumb for these characters.
Hirota is the biggest flaw in the story itself. His mentality to accept and serve Miwako is idiotic. Worse is his attitude in the end of not killing her.
Followed by that is how stupidly his personality and character changes towards his normal life and love for Chika. There's no real concrete sense to how, logically.
Soichi's choices in following Miwako or her sister, Tamaki makes sense, because he's sexually attracted to them as a simp.
Except, the fact that it's source is from yearning affection that his obese useless mother doesn't give him doesn't translate properly.
Sure, mommy issues and lust can correlate, but... I don't know, not really.
The art and expressions are incredible.
Miwako and her sister's appearances are sexy, which is a great compliment to their point.
The masks are somewhat cool, but odd how they somehow get clothed whenever they turn into beast vampire forms.
"Familiars", half-human/vampire looking like rotten corpses with sharp teeth and nails is fairly intriguing. Even better is their cool bone fractured arms turning into realistic weapons.
Weird in how illogical, but cool. The bloodkins, vampires themselves, the four sisters having stretched tall forms with multiple fangs is epic in its own right.
I don't like the fact that familiars are potentially stronger with the potential to kill vampires with their weapon, when only sunlight or starvation can kill them otherwise.
Dying from starvation, where their body gets eaten by an invisible entity of themselves is awesome though.
The way they can control their familars with a strong command is cool too, but kinda underused.
Again, going back to Hirota though, I hate him.
He's stupid, and most of his actions, decisions and mindset are so damn idiotic.
They're irrational and difficult to believe. For doing it all for Chika to stay alive, he's so dumb.
Worse again is how he wants Chika dead after she's become a worse vampire than Miwako. Great epic twist, but so disappointing out of him.
Chika herself is weird now that I realize she was fake and didn't truly care about Soichi.
She was only depending on him when Hirota was neglecting her, but she was great for how she fooled me, and awesome when she became evil.
Nice karma for Hirota in a way, even though it's all tragic. Except that she dies in the end, that fucking sucks...
Anyway. It's all messed up character-wise. There's a decent amount of holes in the story.
Miwako herself, toying with all three teenagers is bizarre. Including her sister, Tamaki.
I don't like the fact of needing familars as servants. Until we learn that it's all a game from the sisters to learn how to live like humans in the mental-sense. How to "feel alive".
Then, tryhard Hirota states she and her sisters are the most lonely beings. Him and them are all losers. Fuck.
The ending was pretty meh. I expected Hirota to kill Miwako and stop her from continuing her evil. However, to leave her as a way of "punishing" her is a interesting angle to go at it. I still think more could have been done with the manga to flesh out the story like including the 2 other sisters, or showing more of the origins of the original blood race. The art is amazing in this manga though. Every chapter has a few panels that are really breathtaking. I overall enjoyed this since it had a good mix of action, ecchi, with a alright story and great art.
