... more flashbacks, I hope this doesn't continues for too long. But yeah I think that something bad is about to happen, like that slave might be the Viking dude that kills his father, I dunno.

4/5 I liked the flashback. I liked how little Thorfinn asked the old man why they went to live so north? Indeed a really good question...
Love how the mangaka has made such a thorough search on things in details and i respect that.

Are you kidding me, this is the kind of stuff i love. I mean we just got enough detail regarding the death of thorfinn's father and his supposed killer.

Now we are being taken back in time, to see exactly how those events transpired and i love how Yukimaro really takes pride in introducing the settings of each area with such great detail. It just makes you really want to immerse your self in this full historical world.

I don't find those flashbacks too interesting so far, but I'm curious what turn things'll take. And what happened to Thorfinn's mother and sister, he never mentioned them :o

The pacing is great so far, nice to see the story taking its time after a wild opening.
Slavery is becoming a central conflict point here. As well as the idea of running away. Thorfinn still seems to think this cowardly and dishonorable, but even Thors is thinking of moving on somewhere else if it means survival for his family.

Thors is a shining example of masculinity so far and he is my favorite character early on.
Lastly, I thought the couple of pages that the runaway slave spoke was very effective in building empathy for someone of his standing. I think this story is going to be really good.
