No one died. Alike Igaram, Pagaya kinda just shows up. This officially marks the moment where I will never second guess myself and assume no one will die, ever. I posted in argument that I was sure some people would die at least. And I'm sure they did, but if someone has a name then they can tank a nuke I guess. Seriously, it's somewhat off putting with how fake the stakes are. A monster like Enel cannot even kill one named person. It has to be my fault because I gave Oda too much credit in this regard and didn't pick up on the queues that no one will ever die.

The bell ringing with everyone listening and looking up to it, all with the bell meaning different things to them, that was meaningful. I loved how the shadow people were explained by Luffy casting a giant shadow himself. Now the only perplexing thing is who the ghost shipwright was. I wonder if they'll come back into the anime and become an official member of the crew at some point.

Zoro respects Wyper. :)

The Skypieans and the Shandians have come together from the unifying thing that is despair and loss. I loved how Wyper saw everyone together intertwined with thoughts about how Noland and Calgara got along so long ago. I also appreciated the small detail of Zoro drinking with Brahman, the opponent in one of the battles he had earlier. It was a bit odd that we got a repeat of the same party footage twice in a row.

Is endless vearth the moon? To the end, Enel is a weird guy who's never really explained. Definitely on the lower end of the villains in One Piece for me.

With this battle the term God has vanished. There is no longer a God. Not Enel, not Gan Fall, there is just people coming together in unity and caring for each other.

It's interesting that the story could follow the poneglyph or the next island, or perhaps both at the same time.

I've already written my thoughts on the Skypiea arc. What came before it was better with the entire Bellamy part. The villain was annoying, and boring, and I didn't like anything he did or stood for. The pacing felt the worst One Piece has ever felt, mostly due to the transparent ways they elongated the arc like getting Luffy eaten by a snake, by some episodes spending the entire time doing what they could have done in half, and by having easily the worst fights in the series. There was also an all time low of production with some of the worst animation and art moments I've seen yet. I criticize this not as a random anime, if I were this would still be above average, I criticize this in terms of One Piece and the quality it normally keeps up. At least with some of the more mediocre earlier arcs they were short. For all this, and despite the fact I like Skypiea thematically the best out of any of the arcs probably, I'd place this one after Arlong, Alabasta, Drum Kingdom, Khaladore, and maybe even Don Krieg as my 6th favorite and in the realm of watchable, and entertaining but not special, outside of the themes and backstory which I personally don't think can carry it.

Wow, everyone alive. Didn't see that coming *sarcasm off*

I already thought that when Pagaya "died": Meh, they tried to make it emotional but it's not emotional at all since of course he isn't dead anyway. Now he showed up again and I'm just like "wooooow... told you. yawn."

I like some fights in One Piece but it will definitely never become one of my favorite shows. The story just isn't good enough - by far. Actually with some exceptions the story really isn't good at all.

In addition to seeing Cricket and the Monkey Brothers finally have their efforts realized, we also finally got the answer on how those horrifyingly colossal shadows came to be and a giant shadow of a victorious Luffy as a bonus!

It felt so rewarding to finally see the Shandians, the Skypieans, and the Straw Hats get together and dance the night away without any more hostility just like how it was like with Noland and Calgara back then. It's pretty surprising while at the same time not to see that most of them if not everyone survived. I wonder what other rewards the Straw Hats will get to signal the time to move on to the next destination on the Grand Line.

Enel's gone insane and is now flying to the moon lmao

Now I'm fully convinced that Oda can't kill. Well it's good that now I don't have to be sad each moment when a character dies.

I can understand that Zoro and others can take the heavy lightning strikes but that old man taking it and still doesn't have any scratches in his body! Lol I can't.

absolutely agree with you on that one. Even tho it has some of the best and interesting characters the flow of the story isn't impactful to make it one of my favorites.

I hate the fact nobody died, I drop it to a 8 instead of a 9 for now.

I also think Eneru will be very important later on, his story is not finished yet. It may be hundreds of episodes before we see him again but Oda has something in store for our god.

first time watcher, still surprised theres replies allowed on 10 year old post but thats great. once the ma ma ma guy got resurrected, i was pretty sure no ones gonna die in the series . I couldn't stop thinking about the unconscious shandians in the forest while enel was blasting the upper yard, but if 2m volts couldnt kill em i guess a couple trees flattening them and forest fires and smoke wasnt anything to worry about either.

I was kind of pissed when the cloud people were running towards the vearth since its not their land at all lol. i was thinking the shandians would have their upper yard and those goddamn colonizing cloud cunts would rebuild since their city is just....clouds. I was thinking 400 years of animosity is way too long a time to suddenly become integrated but its nice that it works out i guess. i could see them breaking out in disagreements and getting at eachothers throats before long, but shit being survivors of enel should get them to intermingle and become one race of people eventually. maybe.

one piece arcs are looooooooooong man, i cant binge these episodes w nothing happening to the main plot during canon episodes anymore.

super fucking long arc 7.5/10, definitely could be 9/10 if it was a few episodes shorter, but im spoiled cuz of the streaming age so whatever.
9.5/10 episode though.

Y así es como 400 años de guerra terminan con la canción de la isla, y los espíritus de karugara y Noland pueden al fin descansar en paz.

Yep. Can't take any death seriously as usual lmfao. Everyone is alive and well. I guess Eneru's lightning is a joke; he can destroy anything and everything except for living things xD. His calculations were so off. Now, he's going to the moon ~

The giants' mystery has been solved!

Nobody seems to stay dead in this anime ffs. All that drama about Wiper using the reject was just bullshit since in the end he's fine and dandy. And Conis' dad is alive... well, I guess I shouldn't expect anything less, since Pell survived some kind of atom bomb, even though he was hugging it.

emotional episode, too bad about the bell. i was really glad the monkey crew and old man got to hear it. the arc itself was mostly terrible outside of some episodes. practically pulled my hair out screaming, "GET ON WITH IT ALREADY". i think it would have been better if her father stayed dead, it has more impact. not that i hated him.

Alas the bell has rung and the battle is over!
Luffy's awesome <3 I loved seeing his shadow reflecting through the sky after such a victory. Man this show is really one of a kind. Can't wait to see what the future of the sky island arcs hold.

incredible man, unbelievable. this arc has been biblical, beyond biblical. never going to forget any of these characters including the snake. if One Piece never gets this good again i'm okay with it. the nice part is feeling pretty confident that it will!
oh and REALLY interested to see what will come of Eneru on the moon!

Beautiful end to an amazing arc. The fact no one dies does take away from the impact of the story telling, but it kind of adds to it being a ‘feel good’ anime.. Oda you big softy xD

Well had a feeling most of the shendorians would come back. However, I am surprised that Enel go away. Fully expecto to seem him again. I do think one peice biggest problem is that there seems to be no consequences. I’m not even 200 episodes in out of 1100+ at the writing of this so this could change. But it’d definitely a huge weak point for the show.

However, I still enjoyed the episode. Really liked see Cricket and the monkeys. It was top 5 arc so far.

I’d say

1) Alabasta
2) Aralong Park
3) Drum Island
4) Skypiea
5) Jaya

So yeah this is the aftermath of this arc, the celebration episode in other words. Skypiea is in many ways similar to Alabasta but that being said, I feel it's not as good as Alabasta. Not to say it was an awful arc in general,it was pretty good for the most part, no the problem with this arc is just the pacing, it's a bit of a slow one but again it did have it's fair share of great moments like the story between Noland and Kalgara was certainly a highlight for me. I will say overall this arc was pretty good but maybe ranks a little lower than Alabasta for me personally.

As for the episode itself? Looks like Eneru has survived but has lost what little sanity he had left and is heading towards…the moon. Well it's something. I'm not surprised that there was no deaths here but again it's One Piece it's to be expected. I'm in two minds about this, on the one hand it feels lazy as a story narrative, but on the other hand considering what's happened in the context of Skypiea, I feel I can let that factor slide. I mean come on we are talking about two tribes at war with each other for 400 years and not seeing an end to said war until now. I honestly feel it's fitting with that in mind.

And Cricket finally managed to hear the bell ring! I'm so happy for that dude. So happy for that dude. Such a beautiful end to this arc, such a beautiful end.
