| This is one one of the worst first episodes I've seen in awhile. The whole thing was just a giant pretentious mess tied together with awful characters, poorly written pseudo intellectual dialogue non existent world building and massive fucking plot conveniences. The only thing this show has going for it is that it's dark and weird, but it's dark and weird like an angsty middle schooler who just read their first Shakespeare play. I'd say the highlight of the episode was the Detective's dream sequence, but even that was a bit goofy more than it was terrifying or creepy. The whole reincarnation, I'm you, you're me, is just so god damn dumb and the gullibility of the MC for believing so easily and all the things that followed because of it were just god damn dumb. That concept could be amusing, but when the characters relationship is so paper thin and the show's method of establishing this belief between the two is also as thin it doesn't work. I'm mildly tempted to watch an episode or two more to see if the remaining characters can pull this mess into something watchable but if this is what they've setup as the foundation for the entire show that's a bad sign for what's to come. |

| Okay. That was bad. I came hoping to see a good detective show and instead I get some pseudo-supernatural bullshit, with no explanations or world-building at all. Only thing that'll keep me going further is the ending which seemed to hint that the "she's my past life" mess is an actual thing, not just an angsty teenage delusion. |

Fortunately here it's much more prominent on the female characters. The dancing sequence was awkward. Lastly, that atrocious ED with a lame-ass smells like teen spirit riff, I will gladly skip. |
