MAL Wrap-up is out so I just wanna open this thread for everyone to share theirs along with their thoughts on it. Mine is; I joined MAL this year with my list imported from Anilist and most of what I loved were just rewatched stuff I'd already loved (KnY S2, AoT S3P2, Cote S2) along with a sequel (Infinity castle 1) and one I dove into for the first time (FateStay Night UBW) |

Not sure how that works, though lol Anyway, cute presentation and some neat categories that I haven't seen in other wraps (e.g quickest binge). That said, some of the numbers are way off (e.g the total completed) while other seem unaffected (e.g total days). (Also the recap if you're not interested in going through the whole thing) I tried putting in a new link with imgbb, since I saw other people in the thread using that service, so hopefully it works now. |

Didn't watch as much as last year due to being a bit more busy but alas. Daimos binge was mostly just 1day since I watched 40 eps before something came up and I didn't have time to wrap up the last 4. Also TOP 0.004% for mecha and TOP 0.008% for sci-fi is a bit funny. A better wrapped than I expected, neat presentation and good choice for categories. |

Come ooon. There can be better explanations:
1. You didn't have opportunities to watch enough of those genres from what was available this year.
2. A lot of shows are misstagged or not tagged enough on MAL, which can ruin your actual statistics.
Point is, don't take those reports at face value, they can be biased!

I know these things can be off, my Spotify Wrapped this year was just ridiculously incorrect. I'm just a little surprised, because basically everything else in my MAL Wrapped looks as I expected. And it's true that shounen has been hit-or-miss for me. A few irritating watches this year (disliked Gachiakuta and got that as my "hot take" of the year). I don't think I've been consciously avoiding shounen, but it's possible that showed up in the numbers in some way. We don't always understand our own habits. |

@SupChoco I watched it years ago, between 2015-2018. In 2025 I searched it for my little sister so she can watch and I realised it was a korean animated series and that It was in MAL so I added it, I just didn't add the dates since I have forgotten 😅 There are many "anime" I watched as a child without knowing they were Japanese, Korean, or Chinese, since they were dubbed in French with often Westernized names.
| @WilliamMinerva20 The thing with watching anime on TV as a kid, I would always miss some episodes or not watch them in the correct order. I'd have to clock-in every day/week at the same time, which was pretty much impossible. For example, I watched Avatar the Last Air Bender so many times but never got the full story despite watching the final more than 3 times on TV. Same with Gibhli movies, watched so many of them as a kid but I have to rewatch them all to give them a proper rating. |

| It's accurate but as for me , I am still in the process of adding all the anime I've watched in my lifetime. My list on Anilist is complete but on Mal I've not added almost about half of the total amount of anime I have watched (30 years of anime is a lot) .. So I watch about 25 to 30 seasonals per season so times 4, 100 to 120 anime a year, and I added about a 100 of previously watched anime, so the total number is accurate enough. |
