Imari is really charming; you can tell she is equally fascinated by minerals, although her interest leans more towards documents and old books. It is clear that most of her knowledge is theoretical and that she still has a lot to learn in terms of practical experience. But now, with all he has been through, he will be able to combine both worlds and start writing his own observations.

What a great anime, not only do you learn you also crave at the same time!

The cave part of this episode was really nice and it was funny when Ruri threw that fluorite rock and then she tried to go get it.

Very wholesome episode. I find it funny though that they went to a mine without first looking for the outcrops or tailings on satellite/historical pictures. Depending on the scale of a map, markings can represent some really extensive areas lol

Even if you kill me, even if you kill anyone, even if you reset science… There’s always an idiot who will try anything, and the shiny monkeys will inevitably create a technological civilization.

I didn't realize it was that easy to reform bismuth. It is such a cool mineral.

Would be pretty freaky to wind up in a mine you got into from a collapse which means other parts could also be thin and collapse. Also some people get lost in mines I would imagine but it likely isn't as bad as natural caves.

I have a UV flashlight like that but sadly I don't think there is fluorite in my area.

yuri, very yurish
@Timanfa It's funny because there's almost nothing yuri-ish in these chapters. If even such completely dry things are yuri to you, I'm even interested to see your reaction when an actual yuri subtext appears here towards the end.

@RobertBobert Now that makes sense. In your previous comment a few days ago you mentioned there is a subtle yuri subtext in the manga, which made me wonder what are you talking about or how could I have missed that, because in the first three episodes there was not much you could have interpreted that way. It have had a bit fan-service so far, but nothing beyond that. Not for a moment thought that there will be anything beyond the shared interest between Ruri and Nagi-san but now it turns out there will be (most likely that sells better in the long run than minerology in itself, which I think has been actually pretty fun even without that bonus touch).

@Ishitateso I'm talking about a red-haired girl who looks up to Imari as a mentor and a walking encyclopedia of minerals. Nothing ACTUAL yet, but you can read it as yuri subtext if you want. At this point I don't think it's tangible either, but I don't want to be categorical without knowing how the manga will develop further.

@Darvallas That is strange. Even if it happened offscreen, you would think they would still make some comments about doing that. Though it's possible that the latest satellite imagery was taken during the summer when all you would see are treetops and any imagery taken when the trees were bare was outdated.

Hell yea florite

They already found one of my favorite minerals (garnet), and I doubt we will ever see rhodochrosite, so that part's a bummer. But it's awesome to see Ruri really getting into the geology of it all :)

I gotta drop this show, not because it's bad by any means, but it's just not my thing. I like the geology part, but it feels kind of forced and the personalities are a bit one-note.

I have to say, not only is the animation for this series gorgeous - the story and its characters are really well done. The minerology core gives it this informational facet that allows you to learn something while you enjoy a nice sort of slice-of-life series, and the characters and the way that they interact with one another is really enjoyable. I was not expecting to enjoy this show as much as I do, but I have to say I am reeeeally enjoying it!! One of my favorites this season!!

Wow, this show just got even prettier, they did an excellent job with the scene in the cave there. Also, Ruri having her name on a research paper at such a young age is pretty huge as well. Loving this show so much so far.
