I previously posted it another place but wasnt getting sufficient answers. So I posted it here too.

Hello there. I just watched AOT final season part 3 or officially Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season - Kanketsu-hen and Shingeki no Kyojin Movie: Kanketsu-hen - The Last Attack. I have some confusions and questions regarding the ending and end credit.

Please someone who know the explanation right please answer me to get the confusions outside the head and enjoy the time.
I wont ask any philosophy about Erens attack or the defense of Armin and friends rather it is about the aftermath and legacy of the battle of heaven and earth.

1. First of all, how did Mikasa arrived to Paradis Island with Erens head for bury from Fort Salta of Marley when it was 3 years after the battle when Armin and others arrived Paradis Island?

2. Did the rest 20% of the world accepted Armin and co.s diplomatic peace deal? Did the rest world found peace and lived with Eldians together?

Main Confusion

3. If they did find peace, then who attacked Paradis island after centuries as we saw using advanced missile launchers on a metropolis type futuristic Paradis Island beside Erens grave and the tree?

4. We also saw a next wave of ballistic attack on the ruins of Paradis Island. Why they did that?

5. A boy found the tree beneath which Eren lies and it was same looking as the tree which Ymir encountered. And the boy with his dog was about to enter the tree. What does this mean? Many folks over social media is saying that it means an optimistic future where the boy is entering with curiosity in contrast to Ymirs fearful hiding intentions. But to me it seems like the boy would likely get the titan again and would use it for revenge for destroying his home island. Please some one clarify it.

To answer your questions, The ending of AOT basically told use that no matter what we do, The cycle of revenge and war is unstoppable.

Even if Armin and the others made peace with the rest of the world, A hundred or two hundred years in the future, Someone again incited war. So war is eternal as long as man is alive.

The final scene with the blind boy and the tree signifies that the cycle will start again with that boy, Meaning that either the Titan power is back (Possible sequel foreshadowing by Isayama) or it was just a scene left up to us to interpret.

Would you like that boy to get the powers again, Answer is upto you.

Open ending which leaves space for a sequel if any or the boy just found the tree and there was nothing in it.

1. diplomacy, telling their story
2. they were defeated, so they had no other choice but to accept, even though there was still hatred, which probably made things a bit complicated.
3. as soon as they had the possibility, marley and/or the other countries bombed paradis in an act of revenge
4. hatred, killing remaining survivors
5. no definitive answer. up for your own interpretation

The killing and Attack on Paradis, peace or war from questions 3-5 is a no brainer, its just human nature that results in conflict and war, paradis being safe for a heck amount of time doesnt guarantee eternal peace, whether its internal conflicts with reforms, protests or external attacks because of greed and revenge.

I would say AOT does signify that war will never end, that the cycle of violence and hatred is invincible according to the show. Pain from Naruto perhaps said it the most articulate way on this cycle. Maybe theyre right, but idk, perhaps peace can be possible, maybe it wont be, i dont think there is a right answer.

1. She swam across the ocean… somehow

2. Not likely, the islanders were shown to be heavily militarized during the epilogue.

3. Even if they did find peace, it wouldn’t last forever.

4. Probably so they could wipe out every single Eldian

5. Yes, the boy probably becomes the new founding Titan. Hopefully he actually has good friends that let him finish the job

answer to 3 and 4: Even after making temporary peace with paradis and the crew, marley and the rest of the world still nuked them after some time (bombed). Inevitable, since the partial rumbling only made it the already present desire to genocide paradis even greater, confirming that eren should have finished the rumbling completely regardless

Regarding Armin and the rest of the peace ambassadors, I believe the implication is they were successful for maybe 50-100 years, after which a vengeful part of the world outside the walls nuked Paradis.

how much of this "success" is due to the world outside the walls having to rebuild before having any capacity to wage war again is unknown, as is whether this peace was attributable to colonization/occupation under which Paradis controlled how the world was rebuilt. we can only guess.

and i have to mention that i hate this part of the story because the nuking of paradis completely undermines Armin's vision of the world and all his accomplishments. it is the exact same issue with the premise of sequels to things like Star Wars and Avatar which rely on the destruction of the accomplishments of the original to set up a new story.

the unfortunate implication of the story, given how its written. The only way Eldeans were guaranteed to survive is if they had committed to 100% annihilation of ppl outside the walls.
