As UniteUp! Uni:Birth just came to an end, it's time for Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, and Liszt to take the stage.

However, these boys are far from your ordinary idols.

Beethoven has a good voice btw.

Yep, a decent start with a pretty interesting mix of music, art, and sports.

King Records, Unison and Broccoli's mized-media project featuring classic musicians of historical descent made Ikemen, this is very bit of an idol-esque show as possible, while not being one at the same time.

Yuuma Uchida's OP is rather decent. The group's ED is more of the same.

The red-headed boxer of Beethoven watching a classic song's performance made hard, dark rock, and trying to get around with the setting of his new school at Gloria Private Academy, finding the sports department as a new transfer, one that just got a full recovery from him almost losing his eyesight. The representative teacher of Ao Miharagi introducing him to the student council, which is made of of two of the same people he met: Liszt and Chopin.

The Student Council also serving as the Music Department, and Beethoven being roped into the fanfare being a chance to get back to the fighting ring, it's obviously bait, but of course, how would they expect him to just be part of the group within a short moment's notice? And Liszt finding Beethoven's words insulting, challenges the latter into their Emosion System for a song battle, though Beethoven makes his intentions much clear that he's part of the boxing ring, not a musical stage.

Need to see more for convincing...though this reminds me much of Fall 2021's Visual Prison, but worse.

After getting hurt in the boxing ring, Beethoven was invited to join Gloria Private Academy. For the most part, the show looks interesting, and all the main characters have their own distinct personalities—which is definitely a good thing.

Also, Beethoven has a surprisingly good voice for a boxer!

I was pleasantly surprised. The idea of students inheriting the "gifts" of classical composers sounded kind of far-fetched on paper, but it actually works really well! The animation is smooth, the visuals are stylish without losing that classical vibe, and the soundtrack is a standout (the blend of classical and modern music is really well done 👏).

I just hope the anime dives deeper into the characters and doesn’t fall into the typical “talent school with generic rivals” trope. If it keeps balancing style and substance like this, it might end up being one of the hidden gems of the season.

After composer group Elements Garden producing vampire rock idol Visual Prison in 2021 and robot idol Technoroid: Overmind in 2023, now it's the time for rock idol with a classical twist Classic★Stars which you shouldn't confuse with 2016's ClassicaLoid.

The music is very similar to Visual Prison, though Visual Prison has better visual (no pun intended). But any lack of production quality is compensate by the fact that we already get a shirtless fanservice in the first episode.

Seems like they have a pretty decent music budget, that's a pleasant surprise. It reminds me a little bit of Paradox Live

The animation is serving its purpose, though I really wish it was a bit more fluid and vivid. Really got surprised by the music. That 5th-rock version was pretty well done and a fun take. Might stick around because it's very interesting from a music standpoint.

Damnit! I'm a sucker for Classical mixed with modern music when it's done well and they did it well.
I have a feeling this will be a guilty pleasure.

Frustratingly stingy with any sort of explanation of whatever high-concept shonen battle mechanics its setting up. Are they possessed by ghosts? Do they get Matrix info-dumped a composer's skills? Are they just stupid nicknames? What are we doing here, give me something other than their stupid archetypes. And get Otakon out of here. The song and concept for the rock band in shadows were cool, but the camera movement felt like the bland panning from guitar hero backgrounds

This is completely different from what I thought it would be!
I thought there would be classic music in this anime, but they only use it as soundtrack, for some reason.
The music sequences are great, it's my favourite part of this show! It's 3D, which I know many people dislike, but I see why they use it here.
The characters seem interesting, but I will probably like then after spending some more time with them.
Overall, it's a mixed bag. I need more time to understand what this story is about and whether I want to continue watching it.

“Chopin” is already annoying me lmao. Doesn't quite convince me yet, let's see. I think there are other music anime this season that will be better.

It was okay, but I hardly watch J-Pop anime unless there is a good hook to it. This show didn't have that so it's a no for me.

Okay Unite Up done.

So I'm replacing this for that now.

Question is can it deliver the expectations from me? Well we will see about it.
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

I came expecting actual Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt & Mozart & k-drama tier piano battles but this may be a bit better. Reminded me of Bakumatsu Rock except they don't go shirtless.

It seems this academy exclusively covers classical music, with the top doppelgangers gaining the title of one of the composers.
Starting the episode with (soon to be) "Beethoven" watching a performance based off of Beethoven was a bit suspicious. I wonder if we'll find out their real names.
