Adonis whisked to the the Army of Insatiable Emptiness, where a woman named Dram and a sword awaits him, being the swordwright of Runding ensures that he will also have his own special Runding sword called Rusty Nail. And where is Sian all this while? Being in hiding in the spirit realm for anybody who dares draw the sword, and thus training them, as do Adonis against the Enola. As for Belle, being near-raped by Adonis doesn't help things much, much less just wanting to get into the swordfight action, even if her sword and heart is heavy, and the others know it.

Despite being out-sworded by Sian, Dram always finds a way to comfort Adonis, as much as the numerous swords he stole that became part of his living. And as much as Dram's backstory with Sian is of substance to become the swordwright that she is now, following the guidance of the Divine Tree who erases the future knowingly as Deus Ex Machina, it feels like she's an outlier creating swords that are unordinary, alongside the Girl of Reason that is how Sian found Belle in the first place, to topple the rule of the gods and create a whole new world.

The craving of a parental figure in Adonis's life, becoming the conviction for his Runding sword that changes shape with versatility, the Army has now become part of him as Dram writes her curse onto him, carrying on the deed of Nowhere, all for Belle.

Season 2 is set to air next year, will the latter half of the show convince all of the setup of this premiere season? Only time will tell.

Gonna give this one a High 7/10.Won't lie and say wasn't confused for a whole lot of it but still enjoyed by grasping the basics and just enjoying the ride,in a similar way to Sonny Boy.

Highs for the show is definitely the worldbuilding and actually really good production by Lidenfilms, the action scenes goes kinda hard.Surprised w how 1st season ended and with how the preview is still shown does feel like it was supposed to be 2 cour back to back.

For a story that is very difficult, as written in one and topics here on the form, done very well, a pity of course that split coure, but what can you do.

I don't mind the difficulty of following the story but the real question is, why should I care about it? What is the reward of being able to understand the story?

Can't believe I managed to finish this. I should've known that they were never going to explain things clearly, even when they were clearly trying to during Adonis' training sequence.

Maybe binging this over a few days would flow better, but I just don't care about the overarching story or the characters to watch this all over again. I just feel so defeated. I guess I'll never find out.

Oh... okay... it's a 10 episode season but ends like it's still ongoing. I maintain my 6/10 but I found this episode very enjoyable even though continues the trend of me not understanding.
4/5, what a mess. Does this mean another 10 episode season is coming? I'll probably watch it was I'm curious.

same, you don't need to understand it necessarily to enjoy it. The content had value, though the inability to understand what's going with no explanations for anything that don't just add confusion really lowered it's ability to be loved for it's uniqueness.

Good characters, bad story.
Feels like someone's rave. There is a hint of logic but logic so alien that it can not be made sense of.

Like Adonis grabbing random mermaid boobs as "simple solution". Deep meaning implied but still makes absolutely no sense.

@geptor Story is still incomplete. I think we'll see more in Cour 2 that will make more sense. Anyway I enjoy complicated and/or weird stories. And the World building here is simply phenomenal. I really like this one.

The convoluted plot and confusing layout of events kill the potential for this anime.

How to ruin a good character ... I really liked Adonis at the start of the anime but the last episodes made him worse and worse, this was the last straw.
"Darkness was warmer than light..." Fuck this. I cringed from start to end with this last episode.
The strange world building got me interested in the anime at first but I've lost my appetite.

It also sucks that most of the anime industry can't do shows with more than 12 episodes nowadays, everything has to be in "parts". It really kills any chances for animes with complex plots and long world building.

Really good season finale with more info/lores revealed which made some things clearer but there's still so much unknown or have been left ambiguous but nonetheless still intriguing. So Adonis instead being Belle's companion will be her enemy now? Since he is the exact opposite of her. Her sword is forever being born while his is forever withering. Interesting story with Dram and Sian too.

Pretty interesting first cour with very interesting world building and I very much like how they leave things ambiguous for us to interprate rather than explaining every little detail and slowly reveal more info as the story progress. That said while I did like this cour it is obviously unfinished and just the start with much more to tell so looking forward to next cour. Also gonna refrain from scoring this atm and wait for second cour to do so.

Btw too bad for people who are too used to being spoonfed every little details and got confused watching this anime that didn't do the same. This anime is proof why most animes dumb down everything so much cause the general anime viewers are either dumb or can't be bothered to think things for themselves so you gotta put everything on their face.

What are you saying can be said for any anime. Like why should you care about "x" anime? What is the reward for watching/understanding it?

Some well needed development for Adonis and all, yeah. But clearly something is missing and will probably be explained in season two, but for now, just a weird spot to leave off on to put the pieces together until then.

Show didn't impress me or anything, which I would've hoped it would've, and I do think season two will. As of right now though, this was the definition of okay. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but nothing too generic either.

This should have been all singing like an opera its got that vibe about it. All in all just made my top ten for the summer certainly better than Kami no Tou.
Hopefully season 2 will answer all the questions and not crash and burn.

That was quite the episode for Adonis, Dram & Sian turned him into a real badass at the end.
He now has some scary looking folks with him in that army.
No surprise Belle was greatly affected by what happened.
Thankfully she has good friends like Gywnn & Bennett to help her.
I am glad we are getting a 2nd season.
A lot of questions still need answering.

Very good ending episode of a very good series!

Adonis and Belle grew up to assume their places. The second season, officially announced to air in 2025, will resume the already very good story, feeding the expectation for more interesting developments.

Smells like a split cour, huh?

Now that was a treat nice to see so much from Siac, Adonis, and Bram. Nice way to spend your final episode. Also....if people haven't figured it out the girl of reasons is Belle as she is destiny to not only to be a nomad but to change the world. no wonder Siac hates her so much. This was a lot of fun. I'm so happy to see it get a season 2 as this is truly a gem of a show.

I thought the story, world and concepts in this is really unique, great and has lots of potential. It's definitely something I haven't seen before, but the execution is just not good. One of the things I don't like is how they just drop terms like they already expect us to know what they mean, though they need to explain it in a creative way, just dictating it is of course jarring as well. With a better script and directing this could have been such a banger, the material is there.

I am definitely watching the second season, my intrigue for the story far outweighs the cons of the show.

10 episodes and i have no idea what's going on LMAO
Even if i want to understand the story, it didn't even makes me want to care about it.
This whole Anime was completely waste of time.
Definitely the biggest disappoinment of this season for me.

Kevin Penkin back must been hurt carrying this Anime.
Gave it 5/10 just for Kevin Music.

I have no intention or even motivation
to continuing this when Season 2 is released later.

Yeah so, Bye Bye Earth.

Ok so there's that. It really is a shame because I feel it has the potential to be good but it's just such a freaking mess. There's a season two but I won't watch it if it's the same execution as these 10 episodes.

I'm glad Belle's assault wasn't glossed over. I was a little worried when the scene happened in the previous episode that Belle would sympathise with and want to save Adonis ala Sasuke in Naruto, instead it's left her seriously shaken and it seems it's going to be a serious part of her character going forward, though I am still apprehensive on how the series is going to handle it as I assume Adonis is still going to be the end game romance for Belle (I haven't read the novels so I don't know for certain, but it wouldn't surprise me)

More like Bye bye piece of shit lololololololololol

Another one bites the dust when it comes to "really shitty part 1 anime that had an interesting start and/or premise" in recent years, next to Hikari no Ou and Sengoku Youko, both which had a really awful and boring first season that turned me completely off from giving a flying fuck to ever bother watching the rest of it. Now I can call this a "succesfull" trilogy in that regard.

Bye bye piece of garbaggio.

Hm, i can see this is turning out to be some cheesy/melodramatic pseudo-romance Belle vs Wolf-kun...? xD

I kinda enjoyed 1st half despite how confused I was... Belle is a good solid character.
This second half... I didn´t enjoy how this turned out to be... specially after wolf-kun got so much screen time. He's too edgy >< Kinda ruined my mood =/

I am still willing to watch the 2nd season though.

Honestly I was often pretty lost watching Bye Bye, Earth but I just went with the flow and enjoyed it that way well enough. The world was visually fascinating, Kevin Penkin's music was on point, and the animation was a blast. It was a fulfilling sensory experience even if everyone talking about the Child of Reason and growing swords and the Quatto King left me a bit mystified. Belle's an interesting character and I hope she gets to go on her journey.

And I don't just mean sensor experience like dur sword clash cool, but take that climactic battle with Tiz. The orchestra battle concept made no sense to me and yet... it worked? And the great animation together with the wonderful music, it blew me away and was just downright a truly beautiful combination.

I'm glad there's going to be another season. I'll definitely rewatch this before it airs and see if I get a little more out of the story.

I still don't understand the last 2 episodes.
what is the Army of Insatiable Emptiness? it sounds like they're actually a bunch of character with top tier background banded together, but using undead as their disguise.

I actually hoped all my question got answered in the next season though.
also, I'm feeling suspicious that the world Belle currently in is in the Moon, a world of anthropomorphic race, while Belle originally from Earth, where human resides.

They really gave us a lot of info to think about on how this story will end.

Adonis went and turned into a crazy maniac who loves his new sword that can never break, and has now a reason to (probably) do something outrageous to Belle.
The ship sunked just like that... lmao

That swordright mermaid has some skills to create swords, but eventually get corrupted by their tree.

And a lot of things explained.

I hope the 2nd season comes sooner, and with greater animation quality than ever.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

So they were generous enough to finally give us some inner details about the show, but—like those inescapable consecutive ads on YouTube—we’ll have to wait for Season 2 for more answers. 🙃

Adonis finally experienced warmth and what it feels like to have a mother, thanks to Drambuie. Meanwhile, Sian is acting as his master, teaching him to perfect the blade.

But after what Adonis did to Belle last episode, her hatred has grown, yet she somehow feels empty.

Why is this Anime so weird, like it has a story but you can not grasp it or understand it… It’s like a dream jumping from scene to scene, but you never know what you are going to see or predict what you are going to see… what is going on inside everyone’s heads, wtf is happening……….. so much unexplained stuff for no reason, but I must say it is still quite captivating even tho I think I’m watching a schizophrenic girl having an episode, or dreams of a girl that is in coma…

What an elegant show
An absolute mystery that leaves you asking more and more questions but they are coherent enough to follow... if only barely hahaha
