| Honestly, after the first four or so episodes I got pretty bored with the shallowness of the cast (I liked Chris a bit until they gave him the most cliche backstory in the history of backstories and "cured" his womanising ways by using your average gyaru-with-a-heart-of-virgin-maiden love interest) and the lack of forethought that seemed to go into the card game mechanics and world setup. Now that S02 has been announced I can put S01 on hold with no qualms, and only pick it back up if the sequel brings considerable improvements to the plot and characterisation. |

For me it was also pretty boring at first, but then the plot and characters began gradually attract me and now I like it so much! |

| "Seaosn2"! Let's go!! I'm glad since that could give more time to tell what the story has to tell. Was fully expecting darn near everything to either not be wrapped up or just never touched upon ever again, so this is a pleasant surprise! |

| Respect for not doing 12 eps and fleeing like most original animes nowadays but does it really deserve it tho? Season 2 could be a step up but it would need to be as good as the pilot was and it never came close since episode 2, i'll watch it if the general rating goes up to 8 or something i guess, weakest anime of winter. |

| Mal user scored used to be more reliable, they never were perfect but its in a weird place right now big names are automatically on top and niche are getting underrated general scores, I came onto High Card since i really liked Kakegurui but everything past that pilot have been pretty rough, it felt like a revamp of Bungou Stray Dogs but worse for me the episodic stories went from decent to really bad atleast the finale arc was pretty okay i'd say even if half the cast was put to the side which is a shame since they bothered introducing them one by one (except for that indian guy i guess?) Still if you liked High Card and consider it one of the AOTS , its all taste and colors i won't judge or say you're wrong but i sure didn't like it as much sadly. That pilot was brilliant tho, animation was good, it didn't pull any punch and that Las Vegas vibe had me smiling. |
