| It's like a trick, the moment you ask if 'X' anime is overrated you'll have like hordes of replies but still you can't complain if you yourself are replying. Now back on topic, for me it's a 9/10 and completely deserves the rating and appreciation it receives. |

| hmmm i don't can answer that. because outside of the anime community it's actually quite unknown. Ghibli movies, Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Pokemon, One Piece, Naruto are far more well known even for people who doesn't know about anime. only when you enter the anime community you will stumble over Hunter x Hunter after some time. and yes, inside the anime commuity it's simple overloved, i don't get it, i just heard of a arc that should be good (chimera arc) but i dropped it after episode 26 or something. i didn't like the characters, i was not interested in the story and dropped it for good. |

| Not really, no. Even if you consider it overrated, there are many shows who are waay more overrated so HxH is not even up for discussion in such a list. |

| The Nen power system alone is a masterpiece, by the time you add the costantly expanding, consistent worldbuilding, well choreographed fights and some excellent, standout characters I would understand why somebody would call it HxH a masterpiece. |

| You say the best battle shounen ever created is overrated, while you still have some battle shounen trash in your favourites like Fullmetal Alchemist, Attack on Titan and Gintama. Hunter x Hunter is the most balanced battle shounen in writing from through the power system, well-written characters both protagonist and antagonist, world building, good fights with organized strategies and also tropes. No comparison to any battle shounen including Togashi's other work, Yu Yu Hakusho which is trash too |
