| Not very well-animated, but that's not the most important thing in such a story. The voice acting was pretty fitting IMO, the kid seiyuus never did anime outside of this, and clearly spoke with an accent/dialect, which made the whole thing more idiosyncratic. |

| the movie shows crows attacking cats, but it's all about emphasizing the sadness and intensity of the narrative. In reality, cats are more likely to be the hunters, not the hunted. So, let's not get too caught up in the literal interpretation and focus on the powerful message the story conveys. |
