User setting for a "word blacklist" to hide forum posts and threads

Under user settings for the forum there should be an option of a user created word blacklist that hides posts similar to how the site already does for ignored users (though i think fully hidden with no dropdown should be considered an option) and likewise should apply to threads themselves or at least their titles on the board like I described in this thread on how to improve blocking of users.
https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1945873
The word blacklist would be a blank field where anything can be added at a user's will. Expressions, phrases and multi part words also can be added. Multiple different words are seporated through commas. This should be not case sensitive to help reduce number of variations a user needs to input. When it blocks a thread title it should have options on whether to search only in the thread title, in the opening post and maybe possibly any occurrence of the word in the whole thread (though that may be excessive for that last one idk give me some input)

Example
Word,two word,words in a some sort of sentence, anime title can go here,cursed words,whatever whatever you want

Though likely it would be better to make it so it works like how poll options are created where there is a seporate box for each entry that way you can get around the problem of some anime and manga having commas and special characters in their name as well as users that may want to get around people's filters by putting commas in their words. I should also mention there should be no limit to how many words and phrases and titles or whatever a person adds to their list or else it would be difficult to narrow down for users. The list should be able to be edited at any time where things can be removed from their list too of course. This could work just collapsing the post but I kind of think entirely making a post not visible at all wouldn't be a bad option (possibly including replies to that post).

This feature would serve versatile purposes.
- users can use it to further prevent themselves from seeing spoilers beyond what spoiler tags does
- users can avoid posts or whole topics of discussion that potentially annoys, upsets or otherwise disturbs them
- reduces false reports
- users would not be as hung up with grudges or hatred of specific users for talking about things they dont like

Users might be better off being able to select which functions they want it to have because the different uses they use this for. Either fully hide posts and threads where they aren't even collapsed just dont appear like ignored threads or the option of collapsing them like the block user function does.

This would make for a more happy forum environment for everyone because placing this ability onto the individual more topics can be openly discussed even if controversial and users can avoid any topic they want without it having to be in violation of any rules. Controversial is an arbitrary term with subjective interpretations and has no place in any forum rules. Anime itself is full of controversies and itself and it's fans by many being considered being controversial. There is no discussion of anime without discussion of controversial matters.

Edit: Might also be useful for use on reviews.

That can be helpful for some though im hoping this function actually gets implimented into the site because it really would allow for more freedom (if rules get relaxed as result) and safety for users and less work for mods.

You're right, but as we know it won't be implemented, at least not in a few years, so as a simple suggestion you can use that, because it's the best and only thing available that does it, or if you don't want to use it or are worried about your security just ignore that script and wait a few years till MAL implements it or most likely you give up on MAL adding this feature one day.

Even thought I'm saying that I'm still making suggestion topics here on mal, but I don't know what's the purpose of doing it either since mal ignores everything hahah,sad...

pardon the noob web programming question but is programming web extensions different than directly web programming into the website itself? i mean you can make web scripts in just an hour but why MAL developers takes years to even nowhere to make those website features?

That's a common question, non-devs don't have to know these things, you are more than right not knowing it, this doesn't make you a noob.

Yes it's different, but it's a bit similar at the same time.
I think that "web extensions" can mean WordPress plugins, browser extensions, tampermonkey scripts and server-side programs/scripts (and maybe even other things).

Each one of them have their on programming language, each of them are "good at" a few points and have their own "impossible to do things".

i mean you can make web scripts in just an hour but why MAL developers takes years to even nowhere to make those website features?
Amazing question!
Tampermonkey scripts and server-side js,css,html,php and maybe even python programs are very different.

But to be sincere, I don't think mal has a dev team hahaha, I'm not the greatest programmer in these languages, but I bet that if I was given 6 months or maybe even less (at most 1 year) I could implement all my scripts native on MAL (if I worked for them), I could better learn how MAL server-side codes works in these months, improve them and implement the most suggested suggestion MAL had all these years, like dark theme (and all scripts I made).

For most of my scripts MAL could have used their own native API to natively implement my scripts on mal, or they can/could copy and paste my scripts on their .html files and a good amount of my scripts would work natively on MAL.

so .html files are any links you open on MAL, tampermonkey scripts are basically 100% JavaScript.
To add some javascript codes in an .html file all they had to do is this
<script>
//Javascript code lines here (or my tampermonkey script codes lines)
</script>

By simply doing that they could steal my tampermonkey scripts that are on greasyfork and literally copy/past most of them natively on MAL by replacing the text //Javascript code lines here (or my tampermonkey script codes lines) with my tampermonkey script codes lines...
So I'm not sure yet why they haven't stolen my tampermonkey scripts and copy/pasted it on MAL to have them work natively on MAL. (my tampermonkey scripts wouldn't need a lot of changes to work natively on mal)

Tampermonkey scripts does "exactly" what I said above.
If you want a website to do something different, hide something, add something or whatever, you code it on tampermonkey and tampermonkey "adds" an html code tag
<script>//js</script>
only on the website you've setted the tampermonkey script to work on, then the codes that are on tampermonkey for that script and for that website are "added inside"
<script>//this is inside the html script tag</script>
. that's basically how tampermonkey scripts works, so tampermonkey isn't a "super hacker" or a "hacker only" tool as some people think.

Yeah, that's what feels like.
Luna says all the time that Xinil "sucked as a dev" when he made mal, and mal still has his messed codes in it, so current mal devs are afraid of touching and changing it...

I don't think a dev should worry to change another dev code/program, if it's a mess and requires improvements, that's why new devs were hired right? hahaha

Wow you are fast, I just finished editing my post 11 seconds ago hhaha,lol

Bump. This is one of the few viable options left especially with half the mods gone now. Not saying this replaces mods but it could reduce false reports and fights and by allowing rules to be rolled back not to entirely how it used to be. I would ban making declared statements encouraging hate and harassment that target racial, religious, gender, sexuality and fanbase/otaku/weeb groups and individuals associated with them as falling under the no flaming rule but perhaps allow open minded questions that arent in the form of a loaded question and stated neutrally. This would mean users wouldnt have to worry that reporting a post in a thread that is interesting will get the whole thread shut down just be ause a mod arbitrarily declares it controversial. Anime itself is controversial and MAL itself sells manga that would break current forum rules. Yes, there will be some users not reporting due to hidden posts but it is better for their mental state to not see them to begin with and have more resistant users handle the reporting. It prevents mental breakdown postings like we've seen before from a few users even with current rules. I havent outlined all the fine details because there is no point unless i had the power to implement it.

Putting aside users that would attack others even with such a system, I think that this would be better than the current one, where you can still see ignored threads in the recent posts of each board.
Summertime days, passing gently
Sunlight, leading to an encounter;
Dreams that don't want to end
Continue onwards toward the next day
While she waits in the air.

@Fleeting_Dream
Well that is an issue of it's own that could be done without this if you mean the forum's front page how ignored topic titles are viewable from there. But that does raise a point, since there is a limit to the number of threads you can ignore and you wind up having to see the threads before you ignore them thus tempted to react to them so I suppose you could actually consider this as a separate better measure that accomplishes much of the same thing without having to get rid of the previous method.

@S_h_a_r_k_93
Well I had looked into what Media Do does and I started to get a better idea of some motives behind things they have done on MAL. They acquired it with their main goal being to sell ebooks thinking they had an untapped market with the userbase here. So they added the manga store and had investments from various publishers and some of the special events also revolve around manga and light novels in order to try to make more sales and more product to sell. The changes to the forum is an attempt to increase regular contact with the consumer and for them to recommend things to eachother again hoping that would increase sales. So I dont think this suggestion I made goes against that seeing how it could be used to help avoid spoilers which would potentially in some cases help increase sales. They basically want the users to keep using the site so they can keep feeding them those custom ads on the main page banner which I actually kinda like it reminds me of older websites how they did ads in past and way more relevant to me than the crap I get fed by the data collecting ad company spaces. So it also is in their best interest to try to keep users here satisfied with the site to visit it frequently enough which can include this suggestion because it helps appeal to completely different viewpoints on how the forum should be moderated it allows both looser rules back to when the site was actually more free to post more interesting topics while also making it so the more sensitive users who cant handle certain topics even being seen can just filter them out without having to see them first. Sure though,, MAL is certainly lacking in properly managing it and planning in development doing things without proper user input first which does put a bad image on the company so you would think they would want to correct that.

Similarly to what I wrote in other suggestions today, from a developing standpoint this request seems rather overkill (too much time to implement vs to little user benefit/usage, it's quite an advanced user request imo); sadly I must add this quote I've read today elsewhere:

If you want to ask something from devs, you have to ask for small and easy things.
Did you know that Notes are public? How do you personally use them?
Cast your vote and add a reply to this suggestion to let the devs know:
Add list setting to make notes private (on public lists)

@Shark93
Ive literally seen shorts scripts that do this before, though that was relying on tags mainly but similar can be done using the content of posts which would just add a little more to it.
