Am I the only one who kinda cringes when people post reviews when a anime is still airing?

I don't cringe, making your mind about a show in a couple of episodes is normal, especially with certain genres. You don't need to watch a full show to have an opinion about it.

If they post it after like two episodes then yeah it’s kinda cringe. If it’s a bit into the series then it’s fine imo. After like 6 episodes into an anime I might want to see if I should spend my time watching it by checking out a review. It’s better than waiting like a month for it to stop airing.

There are some people who are wondering whether to watch the show before the episodes pile up so a review might be really helpful even 4/13 episodes in. Of course, there's also the chance of it being inaccurate since it covers less than half of the anime.

I don't really use season reviews in season as a bible, but certain individuals may connect with my taste and help guide me to which shows should be prioritized. I think in season reviews can be informative depending on the individual.

They are just first impressions overall.

I can see that but there is a difference between having a opinion and making thoughtful analysis
You may not be able to get the full picture, but you can have a pretty close idea of what it may be. You can generally get the tone of the show, the type of execution the show is going to make for it's genre, the type of characters and so on.

Also imo, the show that becomes good later almost never happen. Few shows surprised me in that way, mostly people that don't understand what they are watching reach that conclusion. That is also why some of the reviews you mention are totally useless, but some full reviews are also like that.

Basically, it depends on the reviewer more than how much they have watched. Reviews with opinions without talking about aspects of the shows are just biased opinions with no content.

By content I mean plot development, characters introduction, animation, relationships between the characters, type of comedy, tone of the show, etc etc.

I think it's normal. They help audiences to decide whether they should start watching the show or not. That's the purpose of preliminary reviews. Full reviews are going to be prioritized over preliminary reviews when the show finished airing anyway.

Yeah, that is not something I do. But if I really like it or really hate it while it's airing, I'll tell my friends about it. xD

I don't understand why someone would review something part way through. There have been the odd occasion where an anime either became really terrible or became quite good at a certain point.

Maybe on a per-arc basis for a long running anime or something.

People actually read reviews here? I couldn't care less.

Maybe that's OK for longruning series, but a short 12 episodes cour? Wait for while man, you might change your opinion as soon as the next episode air.

The only people who have a reason to review an entire series even if they don't like it are either getting paid for it or are passionate about reviewing. Both of those nearly don't exist in this medium.
