When I was younger I saw the Prince of Tennis/網球王子 (as like a drama?) as a Chinese live action adaption. I was wondering if there are any other, to nicely say it, rip-offs lol.

City Hunter was made into a film starring Jackie Chan. Another Chinese film is in the works with Stanley Tong.

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky. A rare case of a Hong Kong live-action adaptation being better known than the original manga and anime it's based on. Mostly due to it being campy and ridiculous, having very bad special effects, and not taking itself seriously, at least not as much as the source material. It also fails at being bloody, you can easily tell when wax dummies are used. But it became somewhat popular, while the original manga remains relatively unknown in comparison.

Yup that's the one :D I'm not sure how faithful it was to the original manga/anime though lol

Mo Dao Zu Shi (donghua) has a Chinese live action adaptation called "The Untamed". I haven't seen it, but it definitely has raving fans. However, Mo Dao Zu Shi is fantastic.

I watched it not too long ago, it's the kind of movie you watch with friends for a good laugh. Be aware that it's very violent and gory, even when you know it's fake.

Did it turn into a Street Fighter reference halfway through? If so, you did watch it.

Well Ip Man is on Netflix, it's quite a good movie despite the awkward English actors

I HAVE to share this. China once did a bootleg movie of Street Fighter called Future Cops and it's fucking amazing for all the wrong reasons.

Not completely, just some eps and I don't think it's a sequel to the 2008 adaptation.
