I kinda feel like I have to vent since I went to check out a screening of Night of the Living Dead, one of my favourite horror films, at an independent theater as part of their annual Horrorfest. The film itself still held up pretty damn well for the most part and seeing it in a dark, dingy theater was a great vibe but the audience was pretty shit. They laughed at some of the more dated scenes and, for whatever reason, found the deeply unsettling ending hilarious to the point where their laughter drowned out the film's audio.

And how about you guys? Any bad cinemagoing experiences you'd like to share?

I went to see Ironman 2 when it hit theaters back in the day and halfway through the movie the A/C in the whole building went out. It got hot.. real fast.

Went to see The Nun in semi-local theater. It's small and the smallest room holds like 70 people. One group of two couples sat in front of me and holy shit that one woman couldn't shut up or stay in seat. She talked what ever came to mind, like how she has laundry to wash. Also she moved her popcorns to block from seeing the nun every time it popped up in screen, at the same time blocking my view. And she tried to call at least three times to someone. She left the movie close to end saying "she can't anymore, too scary".

Same group was watching Halloween in same screening as me, that time she didn't cause much noise but I sat far from them.

A few years ago I went to see Pan with my sister and my aunt, and the person next to me threw up. A lot.

I remember seeing Sonic 2 on opening day. There was a man with disablities behind me who would scream at the top of his lungs every 3-5 minutes for seemingly no reason (at least not one I can understand). I was genuinely getting frights as just I was getting back into the movie, I would get another scare. I also had a couple behind me and 2 elderly woman who came in half an hour into the movie talking non stop throughout.

When I went to go watch I Saw The TV Glow with friends, the audience would not stop talking and laughing. The movie is categorized as Horror/Fantasy, so it was incredibly frustrating to sit through people laughing at moments where there isn't anything to laugh at.

Recently, we went to go see Weapons and there was a group of 3 or 4 guys next to us that wouldn't stop making jokes and laughing. Thankfully, the guy in the row above us that was sitting right behind them got them to shut up, and the rest of the movie was peaceful.

The film reel literally burned down and the guy in charge of the projector went away for a snack or something lol. We had to wait for more than half an hour for the guy to return and fix the projector.

The worst part? I was watching that awful National Treasure movie with my family. Couldn't wait for it to be over.

Having a group of kids right behind us chewing and smacking on popcorn and laughing and giggling and talking the entire movie.

I never had to sit with a bad crowd. My worst experience was paying 2x the price of a regular ticket for a tiny ass LieMAX screen.

@Galletita This happened in our kindergarten O__O I was laughing like a maniac because the audio also went bad, so it sounded hilarious. I can still see the smiling fake woman in the movie dissipating along with the sound lol. It was like when Homer's dream ended.

No other kids were laughing either... they were scared. I never knew what to make of that.

I had annoying back pain when I watched Star Wars Episode 9 in a cinema hall with folding seats which didn't have a headrest.
