Retsu fucked Doyle hard at the beginning. I really liked the conclusion of their fight. Didn't make much sense imo, but it was a nice display of respect for each other.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

I laughed my ass off when Retsu barely crossed the river and a music theme straight out of Naruto was playing.

This might've been the best episode of the entire arc and the closest thing to the original Baki themes of sportsmanship between the fighters.

I don't know what's Doyle thinking.
First he protects Retsu after he is destroyed by the guy, after that he's saved by Retsu and the guys from Shinshinkai and then he decides to destroy the place, wtf is wrong with his brain??

The fight at the beginning was probably one of, if not the most brutal fight I have ever seen. Really nice character development between Retsu and Doyle, showing us the respect between fighters and that whatever they do they dont want outside help to win a fight. I also liked the fact that this was not like usual animes where they form a friendship after helping each other and still remain enemies.

I just thought that, the previous seasons has still the essence of human capabilities or limitations. This season is just too much.

Retsu totally annihilates Doyle but Jack Hanma intervened!
in the process, Retsu saved Doyle because of some circumstances.
Later Doyle attacked and made explosion at the Shinshinkai Dojo to those who helped donate blood to him. What he did was great Karma and meeting Doppo Orochi who is stronger than Retsu is his absolute downfall and Karma activation.
5/5.

Oh wait wrong anime

200V on the neck and he still can run?
Must be a superhero

I always believed Chinese Kenpo can easily walk on water by flying, those cursed 90s Chinese Kungfu movies xD

Anime is making me feel bad about death-sentenced criminals
And then making me feel bad for feel bad about them :(

like what were you expecting, he is a fucking criminal XD
and also Doppo is alive Because obviously, the wounds, blood and injuries are all just for show in Baki and don't matter

I disagree with the wounds bit, they do matter in DBZ logic. The closer to death a character gets but survives, the stronger they will come back.

How many secret weapons do you have? Retsu: "Yes"

Retsu went full killer mode, too bad even he dropped his guard a few times

Doyle has an unexpected nice side to him....even if it was for a moment....

At this point I just want Doyle to die already. He's proven to be a complete bitch against actual competent fighters; and the only reason he's still alive is cause the main characters are morons.

This arc has been so all over the place. The premise was so simple and awesome; but now it doesn't even feel like the same show. Random characters showing up then leaving just as fast, main characters helping the bad guys survive only for them to immediately try killing them again... It makes absolutely no sense

This show is weird. I will finish this but man it doesn't make sense. People are so hard to kill and then the main characters just let the villain's go repeatedly. It's also weird that Baki is the name of the show but he is the least involved in the main story line. And the naked fights are just peculiar.

So what I think confuses people is that Doyle is different to a lot of the other death row inmates. He accepts defeat when he was kneeling in front of Retsu, before Jack showed up. In other words, when he wakes up in the dojo: He knows defeat. He blows up the Dojo, because he's confused: Retsu, a master martial artist, completely stomped him - yet he can blow up an entire dojo with a single trick. This is why he meets Doppo in the next episode: He is forced to accept what a 'proper' fight is, and that anyone can use his tricks (This theme continues in Dorian' story)

In the next episode, you can see Doyle' change of heart when he reacts to Olivia and Retsu' "deaths" from Doppo: He genuinely is shocked and/or in griefing for a split second - because he now respects them. When Doppo confronts him, he doesn't use his weapons - because he wants to grow stronger as a fighter.

The main characters leave the villains alive, because there is a conflict in what defeat means to the inmates and the martial artists: One is death, other is loss. This is why all of the characters are put down multiple times until they're barely alive: They, themselves, sought ultimate defeat. This is in great contrast with the Ali Jr. arc - but you'll get there.

Generally, Baki isn't very complicated - if things don't make sense to you they aren't supposed to or you're overthinking: It's that type of show/manga.

Baki and Kozue's romance is okay and all but these two fighters' short-lived bromance is where it's at! It might've been an extreme application of Hammurabi's Principle where extreme brutality was met with extreme brutality while immense kindness was rewarded with immense kindness but Retsu and Hector's interactions with each other was more heartwarming than it should've been.

It's too bad that he didn't change much in the end but at least his gratefulness was as genuine as it could be even if it was just for a few minutes.

What an unbelievable episode, I'm so addicted to this constant unsure, yet determined flow of events, the way how characters are conflicted to act good or bad is so engaging and suspenseful.

If they wanted to get more of the good guys involved in the fights, they should've just made more bad guys instead of repeatedly letting the death row inmates go after deating them.
