| GUNBUSTER !! The OAVs series (by the way, check OAVs from around the 80s/90s, no matter what people here say about this format). Venus Wars, great pop-corn movie (and it's beautiful to look at). Perfect Blue Other (magnificent) late 70s/80s movies like MIyazaki's Nausicaa, Ace wo Nerae (1979 but it qualifies), Waga no seishun no Arcadia, Chirin no Suzu, the Mobile Suit Gundam trilogy, ... There are early to mid90s Ghibli highly interesting too: Pompokon, Grave of the fireflies, Omoide poroporo, their TV movie... I vote for Evangelion like above obviously.
