While antis like to refer to them as though they are kids, most lolis are as much children as a cat girl is a cat. They usually have child-like features such as short height or narrow shoulders, high head-body ratio, but have other aspects which are more adult. Sometimes it's only personality like with Monogatari's Shinobu, but for most "lolicons" (I hate that word), that is enough to dissociate them from real children, in spite of the similarities. If you find someone who thinks an anime character that is indistinguishable from a child (Renge from Non Non Biyori) is hot, then yeah you might be dealing with a pedo lol. But I'm extremely non-judgmental so I don't really care what people are in to as long as they don't hurt others. In any case, my point here is that people who like girls who are petite, delicate, feminine, girly etc. and aren't predisposed to pedo-paranoia, are probably going to like lolis. 2. Taboo.
