What do you know

The latest generation is terrible.

Led Zeppelin is the only real music there is. Only Cowboy Bebop is good.

Like this comment if you were born in the wrong generation

etc etc etc etc

Started in the 4th generation, stopped watching anime, and came back in the 5th generation, but now I started watching anime in the 3rd generation. I don't think it matters what generation you're born in really. Just your tastes :p

Generation 3.5: The Toonami/Adult Swim Age 1995-2005- Watched most of their initial anime series on television thanks to an huge abundance of it on Cartoon Network, Sci-fi Chanel, TechTV, and Encore movie channels. Later added other methods like buying, renting, and fansubs. Exposed to a wide variety of genres and demographics of shows, usually is in their 20s or 30s now and possesses superior taste that transcends hand drawn or CG shitposting to enjoy both.

4th generation, since I was born in 2000. Also, this is your excuse to bitch about new anime, isn't it?

Was it the shyness in my soul that made me lonely just like you? No one noticed I was there, when I walked into the room.

I'm that fourth gen guy on the Titanic shouting to turn the ship around. Right around the time before fifth gen all I was doing was looking towards the 1990's and telling myself damn these bitches in the third gen got it nice. Nothing was the same after the K-on nation invaded.

Third generation/90s person here...

Err... So what's the point of your post? Nostalgia? Quality?

All I learn on the comparison between shows in the past and those in the present is that there are 'good' shows and 'bad' shows, regardless of age.

I guess I'm from the 4th generation. Though, in the 2000s all anime were cartoon to me, I didn't really actually know the difference until around 2010.

Just thought about something.

My generation found anime through the internet, Death Note/Attack on Titan/SAO

Better than discovering Naruto/One Piece and never watching anything else.

Technically I'm from the 3rd generation but I became aware in the 4th generation. I have no complaints though, as long as a series captures my interest I'll be glad to watch it.

so, basically, what you are saying is that generation of anime fans is dying and almost all of them are horny crazy otaku/weaaboos. not gonna say anything cause it's your "opinion" on anime generation. i started watching anime from 2014, and obvious because of ecchi. that genre got me into anime or more like because hentai. and i don't think if a person got into an anime because of that is a bad thing.

kinda expected what i will see in this thread after i red the title.
this is anime community. deal with it!

I doubt people watched old anime without ecchi. Faye Valentine is sexy as hell and I'm sure it got some people going.

I was born on 9/4/1986, so I was born during the 3rd Gen. However, I didn't really get into watching anime (outside of some "Pokemon" and a lot of "Yu-Gi-Oh!") until Fall 2007 when I discovered Crunchyroll. I had seen some fansubs like "Haruhi Suzumiya" but CR Fall 2007 is when it really started for me. So, I am 3rd-Gen born person who really got into anime during the late 4th Gen.
