And there, it ended.

In addition to the original ending (Satoru finding out the truth, Saki finally free Squealer from his punishment), the mangaka expanded the story.

The event, and stress it caused has damaged the thing their ancestor made to ensure their survival. Probably in this generation, the children wouldn't die instantly when they killed another human. They are risking far greater outbreak of Akki.
Shou (the original character boy who's girlfriend turned into Gouma) is made a hero, because Saki is now the hidden leader of the city. He's leading a fleet to America where ESP research is most developed before the fall. They hope to find more knowledge to find a cure for their problem (Akki and Gouma)

>We are human

And that is one hell of a trial they got there. I really liked the way they depicted the colored scenes in this chapter though to create a sense of youth. Evolution is quite a fascinating thing.

People give the manga too much for shit including as much fanservice as it does. It's not everyone's cup of tea, and personally I'm not too fond of it myself, but very little of the story has been lost as far as I'm aware, with regards to anime adaptation. It was pretty much the same and added more.

God this manga/anime is SO good, yet underrated.
Honestly they could easily continued the series or a
start off of season 2 since they took all those babies.

I must admit I think the anime adaptation is superior. Not the manga is bad, they don't really tamper with the story, but the endless fanservice (ill suited to a story like this one) detracted from my enjoyment.

Glad I gave this a chance after dropping the anime. An enjoyable read this was.
I wish it'd been a little longer.

There could've been less fan service, but toward the end the story was very good.

Its not even the fanservice but the way the Manga takes the Anime/Novel and turns it into an edgy action sci-fi shounen makes me sad because of how good the source was (and Anime). They changed several things in the Manga. It feels like reading another series at this point.

It was a great series. I kind of wish the last chapter had given more closure on whether they found a cure though. It made it sound like they did, which I'd like to believe.

Also, I really have to laugh at all the complaints about the fanservice. Did you seriously miss how sexual activity is a huge part of their culture? Author wrote it, he obviously wanted it to be there.

I'm still laughing about "serious weab" reactions to the ecchi in the manga. I guess the writer of the novel approved this? Good manga, wasn't overly edgy except that one battle which crossed over into too trippy, which had also happened in the anime.
