Eiken: Eikenbu yori Ai wo Komete

In my review of Onegai Twins, I talked about how everyone has a guilty pleasure and that my pleasures are some of the most guiltiest.From Ikkitousen to Maken ki.But this show is on a completely different level of guilty.This show is one that deserves attention for one of the worst anime ever made in the last almost 2 decades,but I love it.Not for all the reasons intended,but for how ridiculous this show is.So bad that its good.But it is still bad but you get entertained out of its atrocity.There is a difference between bad and awful and Eikenbu yori Ai wo Komete doesn't even come ... close to the latter on the scale.


The story to Eiken makes no sense.This guy named Densuke Mifune goes to this really huge academy and know for two things:1.Making the highest grade on the entrance.2.At the same time being know for having no redeeming qualities at all(Making the highest grade on the entrance exam sounds redeeming to me but whatever),After slipping on a banana peel and somehow touching this girl,Chiharu Shinonome's, EXTRA F CUP BOOBIES,ends up being put in this club called Eiken Club who's major club activites seem to be eating noodles and nothing else.Ran by the rag tag group of ladies with a majority of them having chest sizes that are not anatomically possible even in anime. There is also this tournament that somehow got past the school board.Students have to bun-jee jump from really high places without proper bun-jee jump equipment.Sliding down waterslides completely replaced with vanilla yogurt,and "felatio"ing chocolate covered bananas in front of hundreds of people.All for the sake of buying Chiharu a present or something.


The animation is kinda difficult to talk about because its good and bad at the same time.The only time when the animation is better than usual is when something "erotic" happens for the sake of fan service
but comes off as awkward.For example when the wind is blowing and the women's cleavages are flowing in the wind with it.WTF.Now, I don't know how the female anatomy goes, but I know that boobs do not have the buoyancy or density to flow in the air.What am I talking about?Besides that, the animation is pretty crappy.I also analyzed the style that JC staff uses with most of they're shows.They kinda have a SHAFT-esque style to it.As apparent in this show's opening, JC Staff uses a lot of colorful and geometric patterns and designs.It's not as shameless as SHAFT but it's the little things you have to look for.Speaking of which, the character designs are OUT OF CONTROL.Like this fifth grader with hairy eyebrows and what looks like an oversized sausage implanted in her chest.And this other girl with boobs that bounce for such an extended period of time.(now that's animation!).

The music for Eiken is barely noticeable,but if you have watched the show at such the frequency that I have,(which you haven't)if you hear the soundtrack, you'll notice that It sounds like it was ripped straight from Rugrats.What is really disappointing about the opening and ending songs is that they deserved so much better.The vocals and instruments in used provide a nice summer feeling that you would jam to if you were in the car on a trip or something.And the ending is so soothing, its one of those songs you would listen too while walking on the beach during sunset.But alas, this song in the show is presented with fade out of Kurika with a wet shirt and bare naked from the waist down, looking at the sky wearily even though the only things she did in the show was bounce around and eat phallic food.The dub is atrocious.But believe it or not, the main voice actor, Densuke,is actually voiced by BRYCE PAPENBROOK.Who played really popular characters, like Kirito from SAO and Eren Yaegar from AOT.Don't believe me, just look it up.Unlike those other roles he plays, Bryce really acted in such a way where I wanted to punch him in the face.Not because of him, but because of the shitty-ass script that he and other characters had to act out.



Did I enjoy this show,YES but for the wrong reason.I am not commending this show by any means, This show is so atrocious that it gets my attention and when I need something to laugh at I go to no other than this showThe only probable inference about this show is that it satirizes the ecchi genre because this show is pretty ridiculous.Starting with the characters,what the heck is wrong with these people?!There is this girl that jumps and hits Densuke in the face with her taint at the wrong time and takes off her clothes when time does not permit.And that one seen when the little girl is like grinding up ginger and is running in place and the teacher slips on a banana peel because Kurika has never heard of a trash can and after slo mo seen ends up with Densuke being crushed by the girls' boobs and they're covered in noodles to look like they've been jizzed on. IMAGERYYYYYYYY!!
There is so much to talk about this show.Despite being crap it stands out because it takes the boring and cliche and goes an entirely different route that I can only ask for you to see for yourself.But I don't recommend such.

this might be a short review or a long on no idea honestly this anime was just WOW ill say that much

Story: so the story starts with Densuke meeting Chiharu at school (by tripping or something) and landing on her than he ends up getting forced too join the Eiken club (they honestly NEVER explained why he was forced but whatever) there is honestly no story too this expect to what i just told you honestly.

Art: art is good for it coming out in 2003 art isnt a concern of mine to be honest as long as the anime is good than yeah

Sound: ... now the OP and ED i actually really liked otherwise the sound was good

Character: putting this all aside that i liked all the side characters i WILL get to one character at the end of this review. Chiharu is the big boobed clumsy anything that you can think girl i didnt mind her honestly at all. Densuke now hes the typical person who gets scared of boobs and such (which i love about, im not a fan of a perv MC) otherwise he was good

Enjoyment: to say i enjoyed this is a understatement this could have been honestly BETTER as a hentai but yeah also why the fuck you give a 6th grade girls the boobs have like 2 basketballs like WTF who thought of that otherwise the comedy was bad it was a little ther but not enough

Overall: goona give this 4 for sure if this was a hentai easily a 6 or maybe 7 but as a anime naw the comedy was bare at best and all this (well some) having basketball sized tits didnt help either (even though im a lewd person) just felt unnatural to me

Not was a elaborate story; It is very simplistic, a romantic comedy with strong appeal to the sexual side, that's it basically , a romantic comedy that involves a competition to stay the girl.

Art:
It's not the best, too simple, do not expect details that anime. The scenario is not minimalist but also not that bad is good.

Sound:
No innovations, music and common sound environment is basic but could have added something extra.

Character:
Some are much better than others, I no longer liked the characters with huge breasts, (I hate that) this ruins any anime, traces are well made, are all charismatic what I liked in this regard.

Enjoyment:
This is guaranteed! Certainly an anime that yields good laugh, who like the genre "show panties" worth watching, I gave a lot of laughs so I classify this anime to be reasonably good to watch, were it not for bigs breasts would be more fun to watch.

I remember watching this a while back but I don't remember why I didn't actually have it marked off on this website. But anyway here's the review now.

Pros: Lots of bouncing boobs.

Cons: No story, no character development.

There's nothing special or great or even mediocre about the series. Breasts boobs tits mammary udders, whatever you want to call them this Series has it in abundance. There's really not much for me to spoil in in two separate episodes. It takes one hour to watch both episodes if you can't waste away 1 hour watching some sort of fanservicey sorta mini harem-esq series then you weren't even ... really thinking about watching this in the first place. There's no character development because there's no characters to develop basically boy slips on banana peels which apparently are all over the goddamn school and when he does he's either touching tits or pussy one or the other. I'm assuming this other random small breasted chick is his childhood friend.

But we don't know no backstory we have no idea what's going on i'm assuming this was made for the people who also read the Manga which I will but i'm pretty sure it's still going to be just as bad. Now I won't say it's horrible because it does have to redeeming qualities we're number one I like tits these tits are drawn really well they bounce nicely that gives you a half chub. Number two it has a legit opening and closing sequence which aren't entirely horrible but again I said not entirely horrible they're also not entirely able to be sat through.

Now don't get me wrong I can always go down fan service sort of show not against that and I'm not a real crazy freak about story, but it has to have something to drive the narrative something that makes you invested in the show even if it is only 2 episodes. I hate sounding like a broken record but there is absolutely nothing beyond the juvenile carnal love of tits that made me watch this again.

Though I certainly don't belong to the target demographic (I am a woman, and over 40), I decided to watch this because I heard that it is very weird, and I have always sought out and appreciated weirdness. I find this short anime series extremely difficult to rate, so I have given it a middling score of 5, but this single score says too little about it. In reality, I want to rate it both 1 and 10 at the same time.

There is much about this series that I find utterly dreadful, but paradoxically, that is part of its attraction. Some of ... the comedic aspects are horrendous, but entertaining at the same time. The tired old banana peel gag is used to ridiculous extremes; banana peels seem to miraculously pop up whenever the creators find it necessary for somebody to trip and land in a compromising position. Exaggerated boobs are, of course, a primary characteristic of this story, and the ridiculous boob theme can be funny, while also rendering the program painful to watch at times because the concept is so overplayed. (I do like how the school campus is shaped like a gigantic boob.)

The basic problem I have with this series is that it doesn't seem to know what it wants to be, and the different genres it pursues don't necessarily mix well. By exaggerating the boob theme, panty shots, and the tired banana peel gag, it looks like it is trying to be a parody of certain anime and comedy conventions, and it at least partially succeeds. With the nudity, near-nudity, and sexual themes, it possibly wants to be pornographic, but it doesn't cross completely into that territory. It has an element of romance, but, perhaps given the shortness of the series, it develops clumsily, and the characters, some of whom have the potential to be interesting, are not developed fully. Perhaps a series of 12 or so episodes with the same setting, themes, and characters could be developed into a hilarious parody of a harem-style romantic comedy, but this program doesn't quite get there.

I was not at all disappointed in the general wackiness; weirdness is a highlight of this program and is the reason I gave it a 9 rating on the enjoyment scale. The ridiculous games are a particular highlight; the yogurt slide scene is hilarious. It is timed well, and it has just the right mix of comedy, action, sexual awkwardness, and absurdity. This anime obviously doesn't take itself seriously; it is weird, and it revels in its weirdness. Yes, it certainly can be dreadful, but it often crosses into so-bad-that-it-is-funny territory, and perhaps deserves a rating of 9 or 10 because it is worse than a 1.

Those who are easily offended, and those who take life too seriously, should stay away from this anime. However, anyone who likes weirdness and enjoys watching an artistic train wreck that nevertheless has some uniquely good qualities should give it a try. This anime may be flawed, but it is not without merit, and it possesses plenty of entertainment value - at least for those who have a sufficiently warped frame of mind.

Listen, hear me out. You can watch a garbage fanservice anime any day. You can sit down and see your ordinary boring main character trip and fall and end up face to face with a girl's panties. You can see the main character blush when a girl rubs up against him from behind. But at the end of the day, chances are the show you're watching will be trying to tell a "story". It will be trying to have some kind of "plot", which will distract from all of this.

EIKEN THOUGH? Eiken is so bad, so incomprehensible, so full of garbage... that it's actually super ... funny? Like, you can enjoy this show BECAUSE of how terrible it is! And that's not something that you can say about the likes of To-Love-Ru or Fullmetal Panic! Eiken is truly on its own level, and that deserves respect.

This is definitely one of those shows that leaves you with a "what the hell did I just watch" feeling. I watched it in dubbed form and it sounded like I was watching an old hentai dub. And hentai it may as well be, because despite technically having no nudity this manages to be up there as one of the more lewd ecchi anime I've watched. There's an intentionally comical level of sexuality on display, and these character designs put anything else you've seen to shame. How I imagine they came to is that there was a pissing contest between the original artist and his ... editor about how stupid he could make the characters look. He'd come up with another design where the boobs are bigger than the rest of the girl's body combined and editor-san would laugh it off and challenge him to make it look even stupider. They'd get even more drunk than they probably were to begin with and stay up all night drawing the boobs bigger and bigger trying to one up each other until we're left with the character designs we got. By the time they realized what they'd done the deadline was approaching too quickly for them to do anything about it.

That hypothetical was probably more entertaining to read than the plot of this show is to watch. It's a lewd sports festival run by what I assume are prostitutes, and what might generously be called high school girls. The protagonist spends half of it in drag and the other half buried face deep into one of the girl's boobs and/or crotch. If you're looking for an intellectually stimulating masterwork of brilliant storytelling you'd honestly have a better shot with Sword Art. Scathing, I know.

I'm torn between giving this a good grade for the ironic enjoyment I got out of it or a realistic grade based on it's actual quality. With the right group of friends you could potentially have a good time riffing on this, but it really doesn't have any merit on it's own. I'll split the difference and give it a 5/10.

Like an over abundance of innuendos, sex jokes, and incest with god knows how many tropes? No? Well, you’ll LOVE this. In all seriousness, this is bad.

Story 1/10 - I almost didn’t want to rate this one. I don’t know what the story was. The narrative is a mess. Making this in only 2 episodes was a mistake. Everything just feels rushed making me forget what the point of the ova was.

Art 4/10 - Honestly, there’s not much wrong with the animation itself, but this ova is infamous for having most female characters have unnaturally large breasts. Plus, there’s a lot of budget cuts where ... there’s scenes of where there is no movement or animation is repeated.

Sound 5/10 - The opening theme isn’t bad, but a lot of the background music is okay at best and the dubbed voice acting is terrible. It either sounds forced or annoying.

Characters 1/10 - These don’t count as characters in my opinion. They’re all stereotypes of the worst possible kind. Male characters range from the quirky, socially awkward one to the asshole one who wants the girl. Female characters range from cliched clumsy moe to the sister who REALLY loves her brother.

Enjoyment 1/10 - I had no enjoyment over this ova. I never got a single laugh. Not even an unintentional laugh. The jokes feel bottom the barrel and there’s no character I enjoy.

Overall 1/10 - I think I’ve said all I can about this one. It’s considered one of the worst animes ever made for a reason. I agree on that. Horrible writing, characters, and story and lazy artwork make me see why.

Eiken isn’t an anime. It’s an experience.
Having discovered Eiken in the wild west era of 2007 Youtube there would be times over the years when my ordinary life would be interrupted by a sudden flash of a memory long forgotten of a soft boy harem protagonist accidentally sexually assaulting a pair of Hooters attached to a red-haired high school girl. I’d wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night, arm reaching towards the heavens, panting from a nightmare of a tall, purple-haired high schooler with back-breaking chubby chest cheeks attached to her front, sucking on a presumably chocolate-covered banana ... on a stick, and I’d ask myself… “Who are you?”

Only now in the year 2022 -current year argument- after casually browsing through a MAL discussion forum called "Most cringe OR degenerate anime(s) you've seen" was I exposed to sweater stretchers, the name Eiken remembered, and the seal that was placed upon my memory to stop a demon long forgotten from being released back into my life accidentally undone.
I raced to my favourite anime pirating website and trembled. Whilst I exposed myself to almost an hour of what can only be described as pure, unfiltered, incomprehensible garbage my hair turned white, angelic wings sprouted from my back, my eyes began to glow and I started to float towards the sky as I was shrouded in soft rays of light and a choir sang “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH”, for I had become enlightened.

Eiken can never truly be a 1/10 because it holds educational value. Those who’ve watched it will know what bad harem anime truly is. They’ll stop complaining about Dragon Maid’s Ilulu and Lucoa’s ‘unrealistic’ dragon ( . Y . ) because they understand what true unrealistic built-in stress balls are. They’ll muse on harem anime of the present and ponder whether or not a harem storyline could truly be bad when it doesn’t present a story that’ll turn your mind into mush and lacks the presence of a loli character whose kahunas are bigger than her entire body. Like that meme of the anime guy with glasses looking at a butterfly, they’ll ask themselves “Is this hentai?”

They’ll also think “Golly, J.C.Staff was once a good animation studio back in 2003” because the animation is pretty good compared to the kind of stuff they put out these days when they don’t have production help from Egg Firm. Something I’ve noticed about shitty harem anime from the early 2000s is the animation quality is much higher than like, half of a year's output of modern anime no matter what the genre…

You do not watch Eiken, you experience Eiken. An experience I once again had to go through so now I’m going to push you, yes you, the reader, to experience it for yourself. Become enlightened friends. You will never become a true man/woman of culture until you do.

What even is that? i'm certainly not going to call this a real anime or some fever dream. But well, Eiken is definitely something to be on the worst list, underage girls with freakishly giant breasts and zero characterzation that can be worked with an very generic concept as well. For exemple in this OVAs, this this rejected InuYasha character known as Densuke is apparently the unluckiest kid in school, as he attempt to do swimming with the help of... some busty girls that look like they're escaped from the loony bin.

In other words, this is the kind of plot and concept that only should ... appeal to the "United Federation of insane Fairy Tail fanfic writers", but it's up for debate wondering if the series creator wanted to kill himself after he worked on it!

I've never seen anything more ridiculous in my life. The boobs were almost sentient in nature, the way they giggled and gyrated furiously. The law of physics seemed to just decomposed as the story progressed. While there is nothing wrong with a good ecchi OVA or anime, there is something wrong with this. In fact, there are many things wrong. One character who appeared to be prepubescent was sporting breasts the size of small dogs. There is no reason for this. If you do take the time to watch this, gods be with you.

With all this being said, it is best watched with a group ... of peers, if only to ridicule the preposterous display of nonsense. The only source of entertainment would indeed come from the comments your peers would make.

It should be noted, that I have watched this in spanish... without knowing spanish. I had a translator present.

At my job as a cashier I sometimes use the downtime to watch the junkies and alcoholics that hang outside the church across the street, and sometimes I ponder how the manage to gather the money to fund their frequent trip to my store to buy cigarettes and alcohol only to get distracted by a neurotic woman that wants to buy a pregnancy test. But anyway, the other times I use to reflect opon the finest entertainment I've consumed over the years of staring at a computer screen. Needless to say one stands head and shoulders over the rest.

With a colorful cast of ... characters who's names I almost remember and a plot that rivals the best that cinema has to offer ( yes, even Rats: Nights of Terror ) it's not hard to see that Eiken is a anime that defined a generation.

Uninformed detractors might say something along the lines of "If you want a picture of Eiken, imagine a pair of breasts smacking into a human face, forever." which would be unfair considering the deep emotional, philosophical and political issues that Eiken touches on such as love, the role of women in society, body image, cross dressing and subtle imagery that could take weeks or maybe even months for your mind to digest properly.

While many remember this terrific series for it's truly magnificent artwork and not to mention the realistic yet subtly sensual imagery I personally feel that the story is what makes Eiken such a masterpiece. Our main character Densuke is a complex man in a relatable situation struggling to prove his love to a woman suffering from chronic back pains because of her tragically over sized breasts and to prove himself as something other than your run-of-the-mill playboy he joins their secret club and enter a contest. ( I'm particularly fond of the famous yogurt slide scene as I'm sure most viewers are, I will go into this more deeply later ) The stakes are high, my pulse got high, the writer may or may not have been high and it all adds up to a truly artistic spectacle unlike anything else seen in anime, cinema or dadaist art.

Despite being a progressive piece of art, Eiken still follows some standard narrative conventions, Densuke has a rival to face in the competition. Our antagonist is thrown into the mix for a love triangle of sorts, the likes that many novels have probably taken inspiration from. Being a very forward thinking series I won't spoil the ending, it'll leave you shocked, surprised and possibly even a bit aroused.

I'll now touch opon my favorite scene in Eiken, the yogurt slide. Because it's filled to the brim and beyond with social commentary about human nature and the likes. To win the yogurt slide the team must be touching each other or lose the game. Paralleling the hardships of life in a way that is both unique and touching ( no pun intended ). When we as a species lose our connection with each other we fragment and eventually start fighting and as such we lose the game of life. Fighting over things like oil, land and different beliefs. Eiken sees that the only way to win the game of life is to stick together through the ups and downs. Then we can all emerge victorious and finally evolve to the next level as human beings. This is the message I took most to heart and try to live by.

It's a shame that in anime and cinema alike women have been mainly shown as nothing but pinups and sex objects. But where Eiken has earned most of its rightly gained acclaim is its sensitive portrayal of women both in the writing and the artistic department, shunning the exploitative industry standard. In fact, the art is probably what most viewers will remember. Vividly animated and beautifully drawn in a way that would make Hayao Miyazaki positively green with envy. It draws the viewer in and never lets go, much in the same way a magnificent painting would. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in Eiken's case I think ten thousand is a more realistic estimate.

I simply can't recommend Eiken enough. So go pick up a copy of it, even the dub is fantastic which many anime fans will say is quite a rarity. Our time here on Earth is short and it should be spent watching the finest in entertainment. Thankfully I'll be here to point them out.

If you were enticed by such words and sentences in the synopsis (lol) go ahead and watch this anime. The animation is quite good for 2003-2004 and will not Wow you, but satify you. The characters are "FAT TITY ANIME GIRLS + Butt" who's autonomy exceeds standards of the female human body. World Development is quite good just events going fast but what do you expect in an OVA with 2 episodes.

Fine Show, I AM A HARSH Reviewer as of recent and can say for certain Eiken is a solid 6/10 (fine). I believe you may enjoy this series as it has big tits and ... ass, aswell as its shortness. As I understand that anyone even remotely thinking about reading this review or watching this anime, likes Ecchis hopefully or you are new (mild hentai basically).
