This isn’t much more than an awfully written and presented bland fantasy. The dialogue is poorly written, stiff and boring, with no purpose other than to deliver exposition. Which makes some sense, considering its length, they try to shove in as much as they can, but it doesn’t make for compelling storytelling.

The characters are bland and generic, and the attempts at making them more nuanced or inserting grey morality feel juvenile because of this and the poor writing.

There’s no understanding of how to build tension either, neither in the writing nor in the direction. The exposition does most of the job. The first episode ...
