Tengoku Daimakyou

Fifteen years ago, disaster struck human civilization, and now dangerous man-eating monsters roam the ravaged lands, posing an existential threat to the remaining survivors. Amid this turmoil, an isolated facility shelters children and nurtures them in peace. However, as a few among them find out about the world beyond the narrow periphery of their nursery's walls, their curiosity about it slowly grows.

Meanwhile, in the outside world, young survivors Maru and Kiruko band together to search for a special place called Heaven, each for their own reasons. Carrying past burdens and tragic secrets, the two hope to find answers to the cruelty they have experienced in their lives and in the world, which still remains in tatters.

Wow this might top Shinsekai Yori when its finished. Loved it. First of Great opening. Music overall was very good but not surprised with Ushio at the helm. Devilman crybaby. Chainsaw man. Silent voice. The guy is a musical genius.

This show reminded me alot about shinsekai. It has that mystery vibe about its world. You want to find out more about it. Interesting characters. Has alot of themes going on around it. Sexuality. Gender. Human mind. Morality. Mostly mature storytelling with some more quirky weird humor going on.

Good animation.

Cant wait for the continuation. Holds so much promise.

Mixed Feelings

This show start out okay by being mystery but at the same time try to be weird like the main MC kiruko who has questionable identity crisis or the world that the setting is dystopia but the reason behind it doesn't make sense. Maru the other MC who knew kiruko identity but still go hard on her. The plot divide into 2 that is flash back (the facility where scientist want to create immortality by experiment on children with special power) and the current timeline where we got maru and kiruko go on adventure to find someone can be confusing at first but afterwhile you ... can get use to it. The biggest flaw however is the lack of tension when they fight monster because maru have the "one touch one kill" move and kiruko has a laser gun. Instead of using tactic and normal weapon like gun and knife, the writer being lazy and create pseudo tension fight scene that will become obvious as the episode continue. Even though there are monster that eat human but there so few that you begin to wonder how society collapse. It not like there were much a threat to the MC and honestly the human are much more threat but I guess that where the show want to tell.

The good part about this show is the animation that the quality didn't drop from the beginning until the end of season 1. The character is also good not really complex but doesn't have to. The pacing however can be slow because some episode are subplot but I have to admit it did flesh out the world building. Although the ending is weird but can't say that it not interesting.

in conclusion, it not as good as last of us the game( part 1 not 2) but it did have interesting idea. It can be a turn off to some people because of weird some of the scene. Just beware that you need to go in the right perspective to enjoy this show.

Interestingly enough, the anime's title describes my feelings about the show. Heavenly Delusion...the biggest delusion is that it deserves the 8.2/10 rating

It's a shame. I had high hopes for this one because I usually like post-apocalyptic settings.

It's not a bad anime per se, but there are so much better works out that deserved to get animated. This anime tries to be deep and edgy with its small plot twists and art style and the characters' speech tics. It tries to pull at your heart strings at a few points, but with characters you really don't care much for.

The soundtrack was completely forgettable except ... for the opening by BiSH. What a waste of their talent, right before they disbanded...

I kept watching it, expecting things to build up to... something. In the end, barely anything happened. The "facility" scenes were kind of interesting, and a few characters in that setting were actually interesting, but the two main characters on the "outside" have no likeable qualities, especially the white-haired one. He pissed me off in every episode.

Do you like anime where characters land in different areas and explore them? Well, this anime has the first part of that. Let's not use the chance to do any world-building. No, let's just keep everything the same and have the characters move on. It feels like things happen to the characters, but the characters aren't really part of the world. I don't know. Does that make sense?

But the biggest complaint I had was the anime's increasingly frequent sexual depiction of its characters. There's a tasteful way to do it, and a way that just screams "written by a man" and is disrespectful to SA victims. It left a really bad taste in my mouth. Anyone who rates this anime really highly... chances are they're a man. It was really frustrating to watch. Definitely not a feminist anime. If you want a good post-apocalyptic anime written by a man with powerful female leads, watch/read Coppelion.

This is the kind of anime where I would just read a synopsis of what happened after the anime ended, because no way in hell am I forcing myself to read through the manga and pretend to like the 2 MCs.
