Tengoku Daimakyou

Fifteen years ago, disaster struck human civilization, and now dangerous man-eating monsters roam the ravaged lands, posing an existential threat to the remaining survivors. Amid this turmoil, an isolated facility shelters children and nurtures them in peace. However, as a few among them find out about the world beyond the narrow periphery of their nursery's walls, their curiosity about it slowly grows.

Meanwhile, in the outside world, young survivors Maru and Kiruko band together to search for a special place called Heaven, each for their own reasons. Carrying past burdens and tragic secrets, the two hope to find answers to the cruelty they have experienced in their lives and in the world, which still remains in tatters.

Since the last 2 years I've started to get bored of watching anime, and this anime accidentally came across my FB home page,Recommended by a friend, at first I wasn't interested at all because I thought "hah, at least this anime is the same as other anime" that's what I thought until I started watching episode 1, and it caught my attention and finally I watched it until the end, Really unexpected, and extraordinary, I would consider this anime the best anime I have ever watched in my life, I hope there is a continuation of season 2 of this anime

Mixed Feelings

This show start out okay by being mystery but at the same time try to be weird like the main MC kiruko who has questionable identity crisis or the world that the setting is dystopia but the reason behind it doesn't make sense. Maru the other MC who knew kiruko identity but still go hard on her. The plot divide into 2 that is flash back (the facility where scientist want to create immortality by experiment on children with special power) and the current timeline where we got maru and kiruko go on adventure to find someone can be confusing at first but afterwhile you ... can get use to it. The biggest flaw however is the lack of tension when they fight monster because maru have the "one touch one kill" move and kiruko has a laser gun. Instead of using tactic and normal weapon like gun and knife, the writer being lazy and create pseudo tension fight scene that will become obvious as the episode continue. Even though there are monster that eat human but there so few that you begin to wonder how society collapse. It not like there were much a threat to the MC and honestly the human are much more threat but I guess that where the show want to tell.

The good part about this show is the animation that the quality didn't drop from the beginning until the end of season 1. The character is also good not really complex but doesn't have to. The pacing however can be slow because some episode are subplot but I have to admit it did flesh out the world building. Although the ending is weird but can't say that it not interesting.

in conclusion, it not as good as last of us the game( part 1 not 2) but it did have interesting idea. It can be a turn off to some people because of weird some of the scene. Just beware that you need to go in the right perspective to enjoy this show.

The real heavenly delusion is how Production I.G. decided to allocate such a significant budget to this series. It's hard to believe it received more funding and creative input than "Kaijuu No 8." How did this project get so much support when it seemed destined for commercial failure? Were they expecting Western audiences to carry it? If so, how?

Let's delve into this: the story is bad. It seems more like an exercise in audience baiting than a genuine mystery. Viewers are thrown into the middle of the story rather than starting at the beginning, with key elements revealed in flashbacks. Meanwhile, the present storyline feels ... like a pointless and derivative "Last of Us" rip-off. The series lacks direction from start to finish.

The visuals and animation are stunning, a 10/10, which makes it all the more frustrating that such quality is wasted on a mediocre product.

Honestly, in this streaming era, it sometimes feels like studios invest heavily in animating obscure projects they prefer rather than finding those that will attract and engage an actual audience. It's as if studios, animators, and executives believe they are the audience and expect us to blindly consume their products.

And I get it, they're pushing 40, 50, and maybe even older, and teen power fantasies might not appeal to them anymore, but why do they think constant sexual assaults on the main female protagonist is entertaining? These assaults are often played for jokes, and they take a dark turn, escalating to extreme levels. Who is supposed to be entertained by this?

I wonder if the creators and director are embarrassed by the underwhelming reception because they should be. I hope Disney and Production I.G. feel a sense of embarrassment for this product after the poor reception and low sales. This isn't entertaining or a story with a point; it's just bad storytelling with a lot of focus on assaulting a girl constantly.

Overall, it's a 2 out of 10 because, despite the stunning visuals, it lacks substance and purpose.
