So far it's 10% isekai and 90% "I am beautiful now and random girls on the street whisper to each other that this guy is super handsome"

The animation is really good but why would they waste the budget on that idk.

Also it seems that every time this guy is in the isekai world he basically low diffs everything, without having any trouble whatsoever. It's basically an 'I wanna be be beautiful' anime with an isekai "walk in the park" for a minute or two in each episode, just to get into the isekai category.

This is garbage. A big, fat, stinky pile of garbage, just like it's predecessor.

This could essentially have been Schrodinger's Isekai. It was and was not an Isekai, which to be honest is a rather rare case. However, in terms of everything else it was as bog standard, run of mill, wish fulfillment isekai as it could have been. Coming from the same author as Fruit of Evolution, this is more or less an exact replica of that with slightly better Production values in parts, and a quirky little gimmick attached to it, which instead of making it good, somehow manages to turn it for the ... worse. Which is a shame because it had genuine potential to be a great Isekai.

Plot: It was a decent enough plot if, and that is a big if, only the author knew what a decent plot looks like. Because quite frankly, it is a rare Anime/Light Novel that had the protagonist simultaneously existing in both worlds, without Truck-Kun doing his thing, or Knife Kun doing his own. He is sort of an liminal figure, who walks both worlds, and the possibilities here would have been immense.

Though, instead of focusing on that, or the struggles of charting those untried waves, the story focuses mostly on how handsome the protagonist is, while making everything that moves within an one mile radius falling hopelessly head over heels for him.

There is no such thing as decent world building. The bottom line is everything must be done by the protagonist, everyone must praise and love him, and ask him to have his babies, or his rabies. Whichever grinds ones gears.

It would have been a lot more bearable if every single entity within a whole town was not hopelessly fawning over him even if he so much as took a breathe. So much so, that the plot if garbage seems like an insult to garbage. Even garbage can not be as shamelessly filthy.

This did not work out according to it's promise, predominantly because of its severe case of SAO syndrome. Compared to this pile of filth, even SAO and Seven Deadly Sins look like masterpieces of fiction. Instead of giving the protagonist everything, making him comically overpowered, instead of making him, for some reason, the sole reason behind the blooming sweet spring in every maidens cheeks, instead of making him the saviour of every breathing being, and instead of making of him, to sum it up, the granddaddy of Mary Sues, if the plot would only let him struggle and overcome his issues with even a tiny shred of reality, things would have felt infinitely more earned, because of how everything was set up so nicely to that end.

For example, when the set up of the first episode pays off in the second, it really feels like things were earned. Only if everything worked that way, this show would certainly could have been decent.

Characters: The characters are so unbelievably good, especially the protagonist, compared to them Kirito seems like Hamlet. Every single character apart from the protagonist is essentially a two bit mob NPC, if it was written by an AI. There is no saving here.

Also, for some reason the name of the principal is Tsukasa Hojo, which may not seem like much at the beginning. Until you find there is also a Kaori and a Ryou in here, though we can not tell yet if he is as Mokkori as his other self. I'll not be surprised if there was a Reika and an Umibozu somewhere too. That way you'd only need one Reika and one Miki to get the whole team together again.

Animation: At times the Anime has surprisingly decent animation, and at other rather bland and janky. If the final product was a little more polished it could have been atleast somewhat bearable.

Music: Apart from the Opening theme, which again was a surprisingly decent one, there is nothing else to talk about. The score is very bland, and makes perfect sense in respect to the plot.

Theme: If there was one apart from blatant wish fulfillment, unfortunately I've failed to discover it then.

Voice Acting: For some reason, this Anime has one of the most stacked Voice casts of the season, and it really, really shows. Why though is the question, why waste such talent of this piece of garbage.

Enjoyment: The initial gimmick was interesting, and after that it was torture. There is no enjoyment to be had here, atleast not if you're a stable human that is. Just drop it.

The author of Shinka no Mi has another work that got translated into an anime? HOW THE EFF DID THIS WORK GET A GREEN LIGHT? WHY?! What the freak...

If you don't know what's going on, let me bring you up to speed on the situation. In Fall 2021, there once existed a show called Shinka no Mi: Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei a.k.a The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made, produced by a new studio (at the time)...and it sucked ass. Just over a year later, the sequel came out last season, and it too sucked ass — DOUBLE ... the whammy because it was a worse sequel than its predecessor (which makes it a noteworthy Isekai trash champion at best). In that review, I already foreshadowed the month ahead before its eventual release: "If next season's Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta a.k.a I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivalled in The Real World, Too, written by the same author, comes out and is just as bad as this show, you'll know why. Because birds of a feather flock together, and honestly, I can see bad vibes coming." And true to my worst fears indeed, Iseleve (thank God for this short form name) is just Shinka no Mi replicated all over again, but amped up to the EXTREME. It looks like the trollish joker nature is back to harm us once again...amirite or am I right!?

If you think that novelist Miku would have a good idea of how he/she wants to frame a work that's different from the lines of Shinka no Mi, you'd be hard, deadbeat wrong, because the MC Yuuya Tenjou has the exact same stature as Hiiragi Seiichi: once the ugly, revolting, dirty, smelly fatass that's bullied by his classmates, it's the Isekai nature that turns each MC into an able-bodied young man, that affects everyone to gaze upon the splendours of this hot, handsome and sexy man; the people on the other side all want to be friends with him, and for the ladies, it's the same goddamn overused harem magnet trope once again, but to a hilariously bad pill of fighting over him and wanting to be his partner...which above it all, his straightforward innocence will be love-shot to everyone thumping to their heartbeats and praising the hell out of him. I just don't understand why THIS is made the priority as opposed to the world-building and everything else, which has an interesting premise, to be VERY honest. 

Specifically, the ladies of: 
- Kaori Houjou, the daughter of the chairman of the prestigious Ousei Academy, is also a student council member. She plays the damsel-in-distress character being attacked by thugs with Yuuya's princely save, only for her to accept him into the "nobility" school and garner her interest in him.
- Kaede Kazama, a member of Ousei Academy's track-and-field team, with her distractingly bigger-than-usual, busty, and generous-sized boobs, makes her a buxom girl.
- Miu Mido, a popular model that Yuuya got roped into her photoshoot somehow. And with his handsome Ikemen stature, she aims to recruit him hard in the hopes that he'll stand alongside her as her exclusive co-model...which will also bring him closer to her.
- Lexia von Arselia, the half-elf, is the first princess of her Kingdom of Arselia. Like Kaori in the real world, Lexia is literally yet another damsel-in-distress character that got saved by Yuuya, only to fall in love and try her best to win his affection. 
- Luna, the aptly named "Headhunter" in a guild of professional assassins, apart from her vicious nature as a result of being born into poverty to fight for her survival, was hired to take down Lexia. Once Yuuya enters the picture, Luna is swiftly taken care of by the both of them, only to be forgiven if she repents of her ways of evil and turns into good, which leads to her being Lexia's exclusive bodyguard.

But if there is one thing that I can praise about Iseleve, it's that the idea of interchanging between worlds is a pretty novel concept, though I know that some shows and films have done this before to varying degrees of success and failure. Iseleve is no different in this regard, as it allows Yuuya to interchange between the real and fantasy worlds with this small, abandoned house that was once owned by his grandfather, that serves as his portal or gateway. Yuuya also acquires familiars in the form of the black Fenrir puppy Night and the young Moju boar Akatsuki, which can be cute and adorable at times, and assist Yuuya well when trouble comes seeking face-to-face in the onslaught. But on the bigger side of things, being able to inflict magic in the real world is also a concept that is not new, but what Iseleve does in its execution is decent at best to put Yuuya at the forefront to the amusement of the people around him. However, if there is a line that I must draw, it's that good-looking people need not be this fancy, and what Miku did to Yuuya, he's admired to the point of being a literate Jesus of sorts, like how it's painted in the Bible through 1 Corinthians 13: "Love is patient and kind, no envy or pride, be the first to come last for another. Never forced; slow to anger; trust without keeping score. Long to suffer with truth, (and) Love will never die." It's harsh, but funny and comical at the same time.

Even with studio Millepensee and its studio-exclusive director of Shin Itagaki, what's up with the art and animation, almost like they're being amped up to 11? Yuuya's character, for one, feels over-designed just for the females to point out his defining features, from the spiky hair to the overzealous 6-pack body that is a literate chick magnet. And this isn't just exclusive to Yuuya alone, as EACH AND EVERY character is given the same treatment from character designer-cum-chief animation director Hiromi Kimura, whose last work was on Summer 2019's Cop Craft under the same studio. Honestly, the visuals and animation are not bad, but there is just so much crass detail that I had to squint and look elsewhere.

Yikes, the music is generally bad. This is Japanese rock band Tsukuyomi's debut song for Iseleve's OP, but to me, it's just pure noise and screeching to my ears, and I can even consider it to be one of the worst OPs I've ever heard. And Shikao Suga's ED, I understand that his song is meant to be heard from a creative standpoint, but like the OP, it's just noise to my ears for a really bad time.

So, the status report for novelist Miku's 2nd (and hopefully last) rondo: negatives all around, with the only positive being Millepensee's animation (which went ham-and-fizzle at times). I really want to admire Iseleve, there is an intent in it being just as bad as Shinka no Mi, but this is easily the best that Shin Itagaki's staff team can muster out of an author that is generally regarded as a lunatic in his or her own right for some of the worst and laziest Isekai works ever made.

Heck, I'd sum up this show for you: If Shinka no Mi was torture, Iseleve is excruciation, like watching Jesus be nailed to the Cross in the basking hot sun, roasted to death. Just plain garbage.

Anybody who recommends this anime needs to get their head examined. The moral of this entire anime is literally "don't be fat, be handsome instead dummy."

There is no storytelling. The MC just happens upon a magic door and that's it all his problems are immediately solved. No need to watch any more episodes.

And ffs the amount of "everywhere I go everyone practically has an orgasm by just catching a glimpse of my face" is nauseating. I can't imagine how much of a hermit you'd have to be to enjoy this anime let alone write it.

The only redeeming quality is the animation but it's so beyond ... wasted I can't fathom how they decided to use it on this story.

An Isekai wish-fulfillment male power fantasy, cranked up to eleven. Iseleve starts with an interesting premise of a protagonist who can freely move between this world and another, which is a rare sight in the Isekai genre. But that's where the originality ends.

TL;DR: Bad storytelling, flat, one-dimensional characters, lack of plot direction, zero world-building, bundled up with pretty-looking character designs undermined by bottom of the barrel directing.

The entire story is based on the main character's incredible ability of happening to be in the right place at the right time. He does nothing of his own volition other than react, heroically of course, to the situation ... unfolding in front of him. He saves multiple damsels in distress simply because they happen to be assaulted or nearly killed right next to him. He stops criminals because they commit crimes right next to him. He gains the ability to use any magic he can imagine because he just happens to find the cave where the greatest sage in the other world is buried. I know the dude leveled up his luck stat a lot, but come on. This isn't just uninspired storytelling, it's lazy, boring, repetitive, and genuinely off-putting. Let the protagonist decide to do something on his own for once!

Unfortunately, the issues don't stop there. While the main character is two dimensional at best, the rest of the supporting cast barely qualifies as one-dimensional. Girls are only there to be saved or protected. Guys are only there to make the protagonist look good. "Villains" have zero actual motivation other than the fact they hate the protagonist. The world revolves around our main guy. Oh, and around how handsome he is. Did I mention how handsome he is? Because he's handsome. Really handsome. Jaw-droppingly, heartbeat-skippingly handsome. Fashion-model level handsome. Otherworldly handsome, even. Does that get the point across? No? Don't worry, the anime will remind you of this fact every 30 seconds, with crowds of girls whispering behind the protagonist's back, or just staring at him, their drooling mouths agape. Which I get is meant to be a stark contrast to how he starts off as - fat, ugly and socially rejected, but this is just taking it too far.

As for the rest of the story... well, there is none. There is no end goal. There is no main plot unfolding. There is no world building. 7 episodes in and all I can tell you about the other world, spoilers included, is that there's a forest with monsters, and a kingdom with a princess somewhere nearby. Also, the other world functions like a video game, because of course it does. Our weeb minds couldn't possibly comprehend complex magic systems or power scaling without stats, skills and item descriptions. It's all very original and fresh.

I'd say the single redeeming quality of the anime is its art style. The character designs are beautiful, and whoever is drawing the faces and especially the eyes deserves a raise, as all female (and even most male) characters are stunning to look at. When they actually show up on screen, that is, because the compelling art style and beautiful characters are marred by a severe lack of animation and mostly static poses, 3D rendering for the protagonist in the relatively sparse action scenes, but worst of all, bad directing.

And here we get to the crux of it. Itagaki Shin, the chief director in charge of Iseleve, is notorious for his works on other 3D anime we all know and love to hate, such as Berserk 2016 and Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka?. Other than bad 3D, which thankfully is used sparingly in Iseleve, Itagaki's influence can be felt throughout every scene, especially when the characters are just talking, which is most of the time. Bad compositions, speaking characters are often nearly completely obscured by a character's back or hair, or they are partially cut outside the frame or sometimes not even in the frame (seriously, are mouth flaps that costly to animate?), constant extreme zoom-ins, lack of depth or perspective, constant unnecessary camera pans, awkward or downright jarring cuts - you name it, Itagaki's got it. By now you may realize I'm not much of a fan of his work. Rather than build on the art style and try to elevate the work above its bad writing, his directing drags it down into the abyss. At least unlike in Berserk or Kumo Desu Ga, the quality of the directing matches that of the story.

In short, if you're looking to indulge yourself in a lackluster power fantasy, harem-building Isekai with a bad protagonist and worse supporting cast, go watch Sword Art Online or something. Though few of the anime fitting the bill would have as visually compelling characters as Iseleve, fewer still would be as bad an experience as this dumpster fire.

A Fat Nerd Wish Fulfillment Paradise.

If you thought the levels of abuse suffered by Harry Potter at the hands of the Derslys was beyond cartoonishly evil then wait till you see the abuse the protagonist of I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too suffers through by the hands of his family and everyone around him for being fat and ugly.

With a story penned by the same author who wrote The Fruit of Evolution, I think it's safe to assume that he either hates fat people or is a fat person with a lot ... of self-loathing. The story reads like a fat teenage nerd's wet desire to be tall, dark and handsome with rippling abs getting all the girls and beating up the bullies who have tormented him. Of course, this happens after the protagonist discovers a secret room in his grandpa's house that has a portal leading to a cabin in the same generic light novel medieval European video game isekai world you've seen a million times before. In the safety of this cabin, he can use all the legendary gear and weapons acquired by his grandpa to kill strong monsters, over-level himself and acquire loot which converts into real-world money whenever he returns to Japan through the portal. He also transforms from Pig God into Sweet Mask overnight.

From there only good things happen to him. He moves to a new elite school for special children where nothing bad happens and everyone is kind to him, and women gack over him in school and public which, as a side note is terrifying. I've seen Romantic Killer. I've seen what can happen to a hot teen who attracts the wrong sort of romantic attention.
At one point he becomes a model, in the other world, a princess immediately asks him for his hand in marriage because he saves her, and by the end of episode four nearly everyone's character arcs have concluded. This is bottom-of-the-barrel "poor me" pandering wish fulfilment nonsense. None of the faces in this show act like real people, there's no commentary on the way people's attitudes towards fat people change when they slim down, and it trivialises the actual process, hard work and self-improvement it takes to lose weight both mentally and physically. Although this is written by a person who describes fat people as "subhuman" in The Fruit of Evolution, so I'm not surprised. The biggest praise I can give the show is that its sheer audacity makes it marginally entertaining until it starts to lean into the same boring tropes of the harem isekai genre.

The overall production is so poor you could mistake Cheat Skill for hentai. This is a studio Millepensee project, the same studio that brought us garbage such as the adaptation of So I'm a Spider, So What? and Berserk 2016, an anime so unforgivable that it left a scar on CGI animation as a medium, but the hentai-tier character designs and the hentai animation methods used in this anime is on a whole other level of trash.

That's the only word you can use to describe I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too. It's trash. However, what separates it from your good to average trash is the insidious way it targets its wish-fulfilling nonsense to the kind of overweight nerd that feels entitled to have all the things the protagonist gets without putting in any of the effort to get them. It is truly a fat nerd's paradise.

Power fantasy isekai just upgraded to a new level of trash that was never seen before. Hopefully, people will soon start to realize this, break free of this curse and return to the fantasy origins where other things happen besides the whole planet metaphorically riding the main character's D.
This is the one sole purpose of this garbage and you, yes YOU should be ashamed if you're enjoying this anime. I would appreciate a good hentai over this because at least those are honest and straightforward. Basically, I'm saying that beating your meat is a better time investment than watching Iseleve.

Do you care about a story ... with a message? Do you care about interesting ideas being explored? Complex characters? Or maybe want just some good action? Comedy? You get none of those because you came to the wrong place. This is the garbage dumpster. But hey... I know... Since you're already a degenerate that watches isekai, you might be primed to enjoy even the stupidest stuff on this planet, however there's an abyss that you should never sink into - it's this f-ing anime. I'll be really honest, but if I could send myself a message back to 2012 saying that "Sword Art Online is a decent anime by 2023 standards", the 2012 version of myself would laugh out loud and think this is as probable as AI doing better art than humans. And he'd be right because both happened.
It's incredibly important to understand that the more we, as a species, engage in garbage isekai anime, the more garbage our genome will accumulate and hopefully this demographic stays virgin, because you don't want to pass these genes to the next generation.

Now where was I... Iseleve... The message of this anime is extremely simple and it is - The incels are correct. If you're fat and ugly, then your life will be miserable. If you're handsome enough, then your life will be instantly fixed in 2 days. You will stumble into pussy as you sit and breathe and pray to God you don't have to go out of your house because a 10/10 girl might instantly rape you and then ask for a date.
For obvious reasons I think not only that this message in wrong, but it's actual brain rot. The truth is life doesn't work this way. There definitely is some degree of truth to the idea that handsome people have it easier, but it's definitely not anything close to whatever this dumb anime shows. Don't ever let this cancer be inserted into your brain or you'll suffer the rest of your life on incel forums and discord groups.

Another poison that isekai anime inject into one's soul is this idea that you need a major change and life will get better. This is literally what happens in this anime and many others. But in essence, life is a grind. A slow and sometimes painful one. There is no cheat code to lose weight. There is no cheat code to making every woman want your sorry ass. It's all actual skills and work. The more one stays watching this garbage anime, the less time they've got to improve some skills, get to the f-ing gym and build social groups. If you ever thought in your life "If I'd just go to another world or some shit" you're on a bad path and you seriously need to eject this thinking.

I'm honestly struggling here to say anything about Iseleve. We've all seen this trash play out 1000 times in other isekai. The one distinct feature here is that the main character can travel back and forth between the world. This exists exclusively to further the power fantasy and if you expect any interesting plot point with this, it seems you've not been paying attention to what I'm writting here. And I can confidently say that there will never be any interesting plot here, because this garbage was written only for one sole reason and it's not for a compelling story.

So the main idea that I'm trying to communicate is that a normal well adjusted person is not capable of watching this anime. Don't watch this anime. Seriously. Have some love for yourself.

Animation is surprisingly decent, like the one shiny penny in a pile of rusty coins. But alas, the plot! It's as if a group of monkeys got hold of a typewriter and tried to write a masterpiece. The twists and turns are about as shocking as finding out that the sky is blue. The characters are as flat as pancakes, with personalities that make cardboard cutouts look lively. It's like watching a soap opera with no drama and all the suspense of a snoozing sloth. If you're in dire need of a laugh, gather some friends, grab some popcorn, and have a good ol' time ... roasting this anime.

Wish I could say more, but really, I can only sigh at this after watching the first 3 episodes. Every season, I opt into watching yet another isekai that's - turns out- the same shit as the rest.

Usually they at least have a somewhat unique gimmick, and this one's the ability to go between both worlds. Ironically, that's sort of the same idea as last season's Tax Evasion Isekai. This could naturally lead to some pretty interesting developments, but unfortunately it doesn't.

Regarding the story, to recap it very quickly, an overweight man disappointed with his rather unsightly appearance finds a gate to another world in ... his grandpa's house, then he becomes very hot very pretty va-va-voom man. Then every woman's panties become sodden when he even as much as passes by, with every background character whispering about how cute or beautiful he is just audibly enough that we can hear it. And, if those foolish mortals even dare speak to him, his overflowing sexiness and charisma will stun these women in place as he's so hot that these primal animals cannot do anything to him but revere.

You might think that I'm emphasising on his appearance too much. Well, it's because that's literally half of what this show is about.

So we've summarised that the lasses have a rather dry personality. What about the fellas? So far, of the guys, we have the main character whose personality is pretty bland but sufficient - standard nice guy a bit shy of women and oblivious that every woman is trying to turn the show into a hentai with him. Besides him you have, uh...yeah. The other male characters are pretty bland and average, better than the bare minimum but ultimately serve zero purpose.

Stuff is kinda flawed in the storytelling perspective in the get-go. If anyone reading remembers Kotoura-san's first episode, it kind of feels like that. The anime is just trying to shove it into your face: "hey this guy is miserable, feel bad for him. You're not feeling bad yet? You'll feel bad now! (insert meaningless dialogue)." Dialogue is delivered pretty okay-ishly.

Overall, you might think that the show is a simple work of raw wish fulfillment, nothing more, nothing else. I mean let's recap this - MC is sad, ugly and miserable, then magically finds a new world, becomes incredibly overpowered overnight, also becomes outlandishly beautiful and also gets free money from monsters ramming into his barrier, therefore being free pickings for him. In fact, he's so hot that he randomly also becomes a model as well. If this isn't the ultimate self insert wish fulfillment power fantasy, I don't know what is.

Regarding worldbuilding, there's not much. All I can say at the moment.

So, production is actually pretty good. Animation is very pretty and the CGI is among the best I've seen in isekai. It doesn't feel clunky at all and is overall pretty natural, namely the fight at the end of episode two. Character designs are distinctive and as memorable as they can be for this type of show. Overall very impressed, I have to admit. Otherwise, background music is very average, somewhat bland but not damaging. Voice-acting is also 10/10, which is an incredible surprise.

To finish it off, I'd like to condemn the decadent view that beauty and ideal appearances are the only thing that matters in interpersonal relationships and society and everyone who's not gifted with good looks is bound to mediocrity. The show throws it very hard at you that the reason life turned around for him is that because now he's super pretty or hot. Even if the author attempts it to spin as something else, it's easy to correlate his new appearance to how quickly he's accepted in his new school and later his decision to change schools as well. And then the entirety of episode 3 js...to be blunt, deplorable.

Came for the isekai, stayed for the art and production, left because of the wish fulfilment

Probably one of the worst isekai ever. I have lost not only my love for isekai, but also all my leftover braincells. This anime is just a sad attempt to replicate the isekai genre, but take away its worldbuilding and plot, now its a headless chicken, with no direction. One episode he's fighting monsters, the other he's doing a fashion show. And the plot is hands down one of the laziest one ever. TLDR: Mc ugly, fight monster and level up, now he's buff and handsome overnight, overflowing with that rizz energy that, so much to the point where him breathing just ... applies the WET status to anyone within a kilometer (or 0.62mies for u muricans) Now I feel motivated to stuck a piece of baguette up my arse for every bad episode there are (as of now). I'm probably never gonna recover mentally from this.

The only good thing is tsukuyomi, tsukuyomi rocks, tsukuyomi saikou.

This show is like One Punch man. If One Punch Man was not funny. And Saitama never had to train to get his powers. And he was a girl magnet. And none of the characters had any character. And the story wasn't very interesting. And it tried to be an isekai but also a high-school drama.

Most events in the show go like this: There is a problem. The MC, who is very attractive and powerful, shows up. He solves the problem by being attractive and powerful. Then all the ladies gush and blush over him because he is SO ATTRACTIVE and powerful. Then the ... MC acts all surprised at this because he has low self esteem (how humble!) because in the past, he used to be fat. Did you know he used to be fat? You can see it in episode 1 where he is fat and then he becomes not fat by walking through a door. (If you are fat yourself, let me know if this works!)

Oh yeah, also in episode 1, even though he was fat, he was still nice because he stopped some guys from harassing a girl by letting them beat him up instead. The girl then invites him to a special elite school, which is special because the school judges people not on their looks but on the quality of their character. You can tell this is true because the school is full of fat and ugly people with kind hearts. Oh no, wait, my bad, there's actually only conventionally attractive guys and hot girls that fondle each other's breasts (this doesn't count as harassment though, because when girls do it, it is sexy and that makes it okay). Everyone in the school is really nice to him because by this time he has acquired the body of a Greek god, which is good because it makes it seem as if that thing about quality of character was actually true even though we all know that if he was still fat they would not be so nice.

The writer could not figure out whether to stage the story in a high-school setting or in a fantasy world, so instead we get both and the MC just teleports between them. The difference between these worlds is that in the real world he saves girls from bad guys by being attractive and powerful in the real world, and in the fantasy world he saves girls from bad guys by being attractive and powerful in the fantasy world.

All in all I rate this show 200 out of 100 because that is the minimum percentage the speed of your video player should be at when watching this show.

There's a scene in The Animatrix where the machines have just defeated humanity. They are experimenting on people to figure out how their brains work and how to plug them into the Matrix. One poor victim has his skull cut open and a machine stabs electrodes into his brain, making him laugh or cry by stimulating those parts of the brain directly. It's an awful, soulless, mechanical way of brute-forcing someone to have a reaction. This show is like that.

To be fair, a lot of power-fantasy isekai junk is like that. Normally I drop them after one episode, but for some reason I couldn't stop ... watching this one. That's not to say it's good. It's really not good. I think most of these kinds of shows are tuned to prey on specific weaknesses and past traumas by applying something resembling cathartic defibrillation. This show just happened to be the one that stabbed its electrodes into the miserable parts of my childhood in just the right places to manipulate me into watching more.

Even considering that, I'm bemused that it took me eight episodes to pull the plug. In more skilled hands, the idea of someone bringing his overpowered isekai RPG abilities back to the real world could have opened up some interesting story opportunities. That isn't this show though. Instead the protagonist just hangs around doing ordinary stuff in the real world, but being level 150 means he's amazing at everything and everyone swoons every time he lifts a finger. Meanwhile, approximately once per episode he will just happen to be in the vicinity when a girl is in danger, and effortlessly swoops in to save her. Cue more swooning and +1 to his harem count. Once the protagonist has turned all his former bullies into members of his fan club, the story doesn't really go anywhere. He just rattles through standard high school events, saves the life of every girl in sight, rinse and repeat.

There are only a couple of reasons this isn't a 1/10 review. First, the art is astonishingly good early in the series. Unfortunately, while it maintains solid figure drawing, the animation gets increasingly stiff later on. Also, as bad as the story is, it's not really aiming high and failing; it knows exactly the kind of vapid, manipulative trash it wants to be and hits that target. Learn from my mistake and don't even bother with the first episode.

TL:DR Only put this on for background noise.

Setting
Based in a totally realistic modern day Japan where people rather oogle random hot-guy MC's jawline instead of getting to work on time, or returning home to cook dinner for their family, or paying attention to traffic lights.

Plot & Characters
Exactly what it says on the tin. Fat dude goes to narnia for yoga lessons for weight-loss program. Every episode is then required to have at least 5 minute segment show-casing his newfound handsome silhouette. Actually let's just make a dedicated episode honouring his perfect skin, yes thats it! He will suddenly be hired as an impromptu male-model and ... have him beat up a rival male-model with kung fu! Heck why didn't I think of that? The rest of the story is just as irrelevant as his non-existent character development anyway.

Art
Have to give props to the grunts at the studio for pumping out exquisite artwork and fluid animation. The true unsung heroes that salvaged a lot of points for this anime. Very good art.

Audio & Music
Nothing memorable, nor worth complaining.

Conclusion
Absolutely soulless. Probably the worst narnia-fanfic-turned-anime we'll ever see.

There are wish fulfillment power fantasies and then there are wish fulfillment power masturbatory sessions. This is the latter. There's not even the faintest effort made to disguise it as a wanna-be meaningful story. I've never seen a series so blatantly and unashamedly turn its main character into God overnight – literally. I’m convinced that this is someone's Sword Art Online fanfiction that somehow accidentally got made into an anime. You cannot change my mind.

In the span of 5 minutes of screen time, the protagonist goes from the zeroest zero to have ever zeroed in the history of zeroes, to the Kiritoest Kirito to have ... ever Kiritoed in the history of Kiritos. I'm not joking. The contrast is just that jarring.

People's main thematic takeaway from the show seems to be the fact that society discriminates based on appearance. Because of an accident of birth, if you're ugly, everyone treats you like dirt, whereas if you're beautiful, you get everything served to you on a silver platter. Thing is, if you're expecting me to make some kind of point about how audiences are somehow daft or unsophisticated for believing that to be the main theme of the show, I must disappoint you. They're not wrong. On second thought, you could say that they are, because it's not the main theme. It's the only theme.

I'm not even going to bother trying to refute said premise, because like many others have said, that's not some kind of poignant social commentary. It announces itself as self-evident that it’s the case. A first grader could've told you that much. The only aspect I will disagree with is the implied notion that this state of affairs is somehow condemnable. I will extend an olive branch and say that it is unfortunate, unfair even. It is regrettable that so much of how one gets treated by other people depends on appearance. However, unfair as though it may be, that unfairness makes 100% sense. Humans are visual creatures first and foremost. We seek and strive for beauty in everything. There’s a reason phrases like “pleasing to the eyes” and “easy on the eyes” exist. Humans like to look at things they find attractive, and thus want to spend time with said attractive things and invest in them. Concordantly, humans do not like to look at things they find repulsive, and thus do not want to spend time with said repulsive things and invest in them.

It comes down to nothing more than that. It's as deep as a puddle. And if you're still mad that I said that discrimination based on physical appearance is reasonable, then consider the following. Unless you are born with some kind of severe deformity, which I will assume you’re not, because that's a <0.1% exception, then your physical appearance is not exactly the eternal cosmically ordained death sentence you may think it is. You don't need isekai superpowers to escape it. Start grooming yourself better. Start giving a shit about your hairstyle. Start giving a shit about the way your dress. Start showering regularly. Start eating more healthily. Start hitting the gym – lose some weight or gain some depending.

You'll be surprised what a massive difference even a touch of deliberate looksmaxxing will make to your appearance and to how people treat you. At the end of the day, what you have to understand is that your appearance – your body, as it were – is not some distinct entity separate from you. It is part of you. It is you. As such, the way you treat your body speaks volumes about who you are as a person. Going even beyond the basic disgust response to a visually repulsive aesthetic, you also have to take into account the fact that if people see you’re incapable of being consistent about taking care of your own person, it's reasonable for them to assume you wouldn't be able to be consistent about a job you would like them to give you or a relationship you would like them to enter into with you.

Make no mistake, if you simply cba to make that effort, then don’t. You don’t have to. I'm not suggesting you have to do anything. We're all free to make our own choices and I understand that choice perfectly. However, you must also understand that in that case, your ugliness is in fact a choice, so you don't have much of a leg to stand on in terms of complaining about societal unfairness.

What about people who are born naturally beautiful, though? I’m going to tell you right now, that is almost never the case. In virtually every circumstance, the idea of beauty without effort is either a myth, or a marginal exception on par with physical deformity. Regardless, for the sake of argument, sure, let’s say naturally beautiful people exist. We can, at the very least, agree that there definitely are some people who need to make significantly less of an effort than others in order to be attractive. Isn’t that still unfair, then? Sure, but the fact that life is unfair is one of the first things you learn as a child – get over it and get on with it. The real question is, do naturally beautiful people represent the majority or even a meaningful minority? No shot. If you took the time to learn about them, you would be surprised to find out just how much effort the ‘naturally’ beautiful people around you put into their appearance. You know that girl you think is just naturally beautiful with no effort and can eat anything she wants without getting fat? Chances are fair she fucking lives inside the gym.

That doesn't have to be you. You don't need to become a mirror-obsessed metrosexual. Just make a minimal conscious effort. Shower, mind your calories, shave, and pick up a barbell every now and again.

It occurs to me that this tangent has gone for way longer than I originally anticipated or intended, but whatever. Learning that lesson will be more useful to you than anything I have to say about the show, or to be perfectly fair, way more useful than the show itself.

See, the problem with centering your story around a solitary leitmotif is that you’re often put in the precarious position of having to endlessly stretch and exaggerate said motif in order to make it permeate the entire narrative to the point where it feels adequately emotionally compelling.

Point in case, the first 75% of episode 1 might as well be torture, bully, depression, and suicidal ideation porn. From the way he talks, to the way he moves, the way he’s drawn, all the way down to the way he fucking breathes, every aspect of the protagonist is designed to evoke the feeling of the most disgusting fat piece of shit you've ever laid eyes on in your life. I could almost smell how badly he stinks through the screen. Add to that the fact that everyone treats him as literally subhuman. Mind, I don't mind that in the sense of neglect. I mean active, adult, preoccupying, premeditated malice. His parents kick him out and try to steal the inheritance his grandfather left him, bullies strip him naked in public at school, his brother and sister graffiti his house and throw garbage at it, perfect strangers beat him half to death, all of that for no other reason than just the fact that he is fat. Literally – there’s no other reason. They are all so cartoonishly evil to him simply because he's fat.

Yeah… it's a bit much.

Then again, overselling the premise might’ve been necessary, because before the sun sets on the first episode, he conveniently stumbles upon a gate to an isekai conveniently located in his basement, which conveniently leads him to a magical house that is conveniently defended by an impenetrable magical barrier from any and all isekai threats (basically an MMORPG safe zone or hub, just in case that wasn't transparent enough). Once there, he matter-of-factly finds all manner of legendary and mythical weapons in the closet, all with the most ridiculous names and effects you can possibly imagine. I'm not going to spoil any of them, but imagine, for instance, that he finds a rubber band, and when he taps on it to learn its name and abilities, he finds that it’s called The Magical Eternal Rubber Band of Meteoric Apocalypse, the Embodiment of Destiny, the Cycle of Death and Rebirth, and the Ender of Worlds. And what's it do? It has infinite range, it has infinite armor penetration, it has infinite accuracy, and it deals infinite damage.

You might think I'm being funny, but I'm not. That's basically the vibe of all the gear he finds in this random house randomly connected to his basement. Then he starts to explore the garden, as well, and it comes as no surprise that all of the plants he finds in it are also all kinds of legendary and hilariously absurd, like, say, the Turnip of Prophecy, which gives you infinite healing, or the Zucchini of Inescapable Fate, which grants you infinite strength and speed. Again, understand that I'm not spoiling any of the actual names and items from the show, but that's essentially the vibe we're going with. The idea is that any of these plants are mythical to the point that the discovery of any given one would be an event of historical record, and they're only found once in several millennia, but bro’s garden’s got whole ass crops farming them like bell peppers.

He then kills a random NPC that gives him hundreds of levels and thousands of stat points instantly. The next morning, in the real world, he wakes up in a body he does not recognize. Long story short, he wakes up looking like a Final Fantasy protagonist. I wasn’t kidding when I said it literally happens overnight. That's where the story proper starts – if you can say this anime has such a thing.

I know I seem quite negative on the whole power fantasy shpiel, but the truth is that I don't mind the idea of a power fantasy itself. Write whatever story you want about whatever you want. I'm not even suggesting you have to be ironic about it, à la Eminence in the Shadow. I'm simply questioning the nature of the overwhelming ease with which the MC obtains ultimate power and how unceremoniously it all happens. While I firmly believe in any author’s right to pen his or her story just the way he or she likes it – and my position holds true here, too – I am, how do I put this gently, skeptical as to whether or not there is any value in other people consuming this content.

There are some vaguely interesting elements here, to be fair. For example, the gate connecting his basement to the other world remains open and under his complete control, so he can go back and forth as he pleases. That stands in stark contrast to most isekai stories where, 9 times out of 10, the origin world doesn't even exist as part of the narrative. So, to the author’s credit, the concept of a protagonist who can alternate between the two was interesting to me at face value. Unfortunately, to the author’s discredit – I will lay this out as crystal clearly as I can – he or she is plainly not good enough of a writer to make either the origin world or the other world compelling, so other than the surface-level notion of an interesting concept that veers away from the conventions of the genre, there's not much of anything else going on here.

This particular conceit also raises a fairly interesting question. Can he can bring all of that broken gear of destiny and doom into the real world and use it? Because if he can, I’m gonna keep it real here... world domination is 100% on the table. And judging by the fact that his physical stats remain amplified in the real world, the answer for the aforementioned question would ostensibly be... yes. Sadly, this issue never gets explored or even acknowledged in any way, shape, or form. Come to think of it, we learn that he can use his magical skills in the real world, too. Namely, he can teleport, but all he uses this unbelievably powerful ability for is being able to make it to school in time for classes while keeping up with his isekai XP grind. Riveting.

And that serves as a manner of through line that holds true for most of the show’s elements. I give to you Exhibit A: The protagonist’s armor. It looks cool as hell, but also fairly generic. It's just about the edgiest black and red demonic barbarian armor you might find in any number of Asian RPGs, and therein lies the problem. Yes, it's cool, but it has no identity that is relevant to the narrative or the character. It tells you nothing about who this dude is other than the fact that he probably failed his way upwards into finding some random OP armor, which is… pretty much exactly what happens.

Same goes for the waifus. Do they all look nice? I suppose, but they have no personalities whatsoever. They are literally just window dressing, and the real bitch of it is that they all look identical. Other than the fact that they have different hair colors, I had a hard time distinguishing them.

Based on trailers and PVs, you could be forgiven for thinking that this show features some kind of next gen animation. Truth be told, the visual presentation of the first episode is very strong. It was the main element that pulled me in, too. It's honestly much better animation than this trash deserved. Alas, it unsurprisingly doesn't maintain that standard throughout the series. While the 2D animation never looks anything less than perfectly adequate, so I don't have much to complain about there, the anime abruptly pulls you out of the story repeatedly by way of bad 3D CG rearing its ugly head. You wanna know what the worst part about the terrible 3D CG is? It's the fact that it's precisely the protagonist who is animated that way most of the time. I can't remember if anything else of note is CG animated – not that there’s much of note here in the first place.

This is simply a consequence of the overdesigned armor set Yuuya is wearing. Yeah, sure, it's very slick, but if your studio can't be bothered to draw it in 2D, that kind of defeats the whole point, brodie. It ends up looking like absolute ass.

In the final analysis, there is no meaningful narrative here to speak of. The plot never goes anywhere. As such, there's no real reason for you to spend time on this. The only marginal cases in which I could see you having a good time with this anime are if A, you are fat and ugly and are clamoring for this kind of wish fulfillment, which is understandable, or if B, you are simply an isekai fiend who goes into withdrawal if you don't get a constant hit of isekai slop, in which case… fair enough, I guess.

Straight garbage and cliche story and character building. Fatbhoic anime, obese is terrible but there is a limit to it.

Forgiving his family scene (epi 4) was so cliche that I almost puked. Story building is like taking bits from other random isekai animes.

most unrealistic anime ever, the villain in Epi 4 was choking his brother, very policemen were just watching and after some time mc comes and saves them with dumb mc stares.

Anyone who watched or read any manga one isekai will know like how dumb this one is. The story is pretty much taken from other isekais bits. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

When I got to the 3rd episode, I still believed there was hope in this show. However, the 4th one proved me wrong.

Today's isekai series are just an arrow into the darkness. Unfortunately, it seems that writers throw random words into a bowl and somehow manage to stick those ideas together.

Although I've seen worse, this anime just does not work out. I'll be brief with this review, so I'll simply point out the great and the awful stuff, so you can decide on your own if this is worth your time.

The positive:

The technical department is top-grade. The animation is on point, and ... the color and photography are great. There is a considerable and evident amount of money invested in this show.

It is clear that the drawing style is well-represented and, while it is not 100% loyal to the manga, nicely adapted with enough details to stand out.

The negative:

The show lacks the central core of a good anime; the story. Instead of taking the MC's aptitudes and showing his motivation and effort, we're presented with another overpowered character with no personality or flaws. Out of the blue, the MC discovers the other world but does not sacrifice anything. What's even worse, it isn't an authentic isekai because the MC stills get to hang around in the normal world with literally no effort.

The show had the potential to exploit the MC's kind spirit. Yet, it gave him everything (appearance, money, skills, status) without price, effort, or risks.

Finally, 50% of showtime are cringe/cliché hero or romantic moments that just don't sell out anymore.

Quick update. I recently watched a short clip from chapter 10, and, I know how, but I got even worse. It is complete trash right now. Sorry for those who like it. =(

Yet another terribly written self-insert isekai anime. It teaches the viewer nothing except hope that you have a grandpa who leaves you an estate and magical shit after their passing. Magical shit that can suddenly make you the most attractive dude alive with all the chicks starting to swoon over you. It's nothing new in this genre but I found it hilarious how it literally happens overnight. The character arcs can barely be called arcs, hell, you can barely even call these things characters in the first place. The character's motives are so one-dimensional and cliche that it feels like they were written by an ... AI. The MC kinda just gains more and more stuff and of course, builds a harem of the most disgustingly boring chicks imaginable. But once again, nothing new for this type of show.

I fell asleep a few episodes in and woke up towards the end of the show only to feel like I missed nothing. Just more new "characters" that mean nothing and hold no value. The directing is extremely generic but at times it's even worse than that. And the production is even worse. The terrible use of CG on top of the poor directing makes the action scenes very hard to follow. Not that I'd care in the first place cus nothing in the narrative makes me remotely excited for any of the fights. All in all, a great cure for insomnia!

(I watched this after Vinland Saga S2 so imagine the kind of whiplash I had when I watched the best anime I'd seen in half a decade followed by something so terrible.)

This anime had potential but suffers from rushed pacing and weak execution. The story follows Yuuya Tenjou, a bullied teen who discovers a portal to another world. After training and leveling up, he gains incredible strength and transforms physically, but instead of wasting his new abilities, he actively works to improve himself.

The issue? The anime rushes through his progress, making it feel like he became overpowered overnight. His sudden transformation also throws him into situations he’s completely unprepared for, but the story doesn’t explore this deeply. The romance is barely developed, and side characters lack depth. While the art looks good in stills, the animation ... is inconsistent. One scene has great visuals then the next scene isn't really great but not bad either.

Overall, it’s a generic power fantasy with wasted potential. If you enjoy OP protagonists, it might be fun, but don’t expect much depth.

I don't know if you are familiar with the concept of Gary Stu, this series represents it in the best possible way, it is a story that tells us how an overweight boy who is hurt a lot in different ways by fate overnight becomes one of the most beautiful people in the world and with it stronger too, the story is that simple, the life of this boy after this event and how he took a 180 degree turn due to a coincidence of life, look if the series had demonstrated how he made an effort to change or began to change his circle ... of friends for the better, it would have been better than they did in the series, you cannot empathize with the protagonist because there is really nothing to compare him with the viewer, they are just unreal situations that will never happen in real life.
In truth, the series is not worth it, there are many more series that deal with the same thing or are similar and give us more than it is, such as a bit of comedy or drama, something that does not exist here.

No se si conozcan el concepto de Gary Stu esta serie lo representa de la mejor manera posible, es una historia que nos relata como un chico con sobrepeso que le hacen mucho daño de diferentes formas por obra del destino de la noche a la mañana se vuelve una de las personas mas guapas del mundo y con ello mas fuertes también, la historia es así de simple, la vida de este chico tras este suceso y como dio un giro de 180 grados por una coincidencia de la vida, miren si la serie hubiera demostrado como se esforzó por el cambio o empezó a cambiar su circulo de amigos a mejor hubiera estado mejor de como lo hicieron en la serie, no puedes llegar a empatizar con el protagonista porque en verdad no hay nada que lo compare con el espectador, son solo situaciones irreales que nunca sucederán en la vida real.
En verdad no vale la pena la serie hay muchas mas series que tratan de lo mismo o son parecidas y nos dan mas que está como lo puede ser un poco de comedia o de drama algo que no existe aquí.

The misguided use of CGI during action sequences is a glaring disgrace. Despite commendable character designs, the series opts ... for convenience, squandering moments that could have been thrilling. An inexplicable and disheartening decision that tarnishes the overall aesthetic of the anime.

In conclusion, "Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta" cruelly disappoints isekai enthusiasts. Steer clear of this series if you seek a genuine adventure in a parallel world, as it tragically loses itself in the depths of a tasteless romance. A regrettable waste of isekai potential and a disastrous use of CGI leave a bitter aftertaste that lingers long after the series concludes.
