Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu

This show, like the title did say was quite ~yabai~ in the first few episodes but trust me it does develop fairly well in the later episodes.

I thought this was just gonna be a chunni freak show with weird fanservice which it manages to fit in quite a good amount of, the boisterous and ultra well endowed little giant of girl yamada anna , (who we are somehow supposed to believe) is a middle school student and a model is alarmingly unaware of her antics of overeating and accidental fanservicing which are fueled by the chunni and Perverted delusions of our main lead ichikawa who ... also fantasies about murdering people in elaborate ways? Yeah I was gonna drop it soon too.

But,

We actually got a decently written Romance in which the MC actually improves as the story and his love progresses and he goes from I gotta murder her to protecc her quite smoothly and the subtle hints of romance and the doki moments are well placed with no bs ecchi accidents and are usually quite heartwarming! It is a slow burn and definitely stings to your cringe bone for a while but it does get better later on! Does that warrant a watch?

I know even after showering it with praise I can't sing much home about the plot and its progression as such, the gluttonous genki girl who belongs to and is the star of the unattainable group of cute girls gang somehow catches the attention and spends time with the most chunni and loner guy of the class, there are the standard christmas date , study camps ,sick visits, and photoshoots topped with, obviously, sex jokes and lewd remarks which are either supposed to be funny or be relatable to our own dark past do not amount to a substantial plot , its mostly always just a setting for the characters to get closer to each other. I seriously cannot emphasize enough about this THERE IS SIMPLY NOTHING UNIQUE in this story , is it heartwarming and cute at times ? sure yes it is but that is definitely the characters not the plot.

Characters (8/10)
The character development is all the romance anime have to show any semblance of plot and subsequently romantic progression , and in this anime the journey of Ichikawa from being a perverted and frankly messed up lonely murder fantasy nerd , whose only intention of even justifying his actions is “Oh ill murder her some day” to someone who is able to stand up for her and openly admit that he loves here was a slow but enjoyable and frankly very cute ride. Yamada as well becomes more aware of her.

Art and animation (7/10)
Okay I will give it some points for the art style being a bit more unique than standard and definitely the animation is okay and actually surprisingly good sometimes for a romcom.

Sound and VA(7/10)
The OP and ED or even the ost is not much special except on maybe the "karte" moments , Voice acting of ichikawa is mostly the standout thing , but that is cz its 80% of monloguing , the other VAs do an good job too.


I can recommend this only if one has the persistence and tolerance of powering through the first three or four episodes , because it certainly only becomes a mildly interesting romance after them.

After watching the first episode, and not even being able to finish it, I was certain that I would not be watching this. However, a few days later, a friend told me to give it another chance, and so I did.

One problem, if not the ONLY problem I had with this anime at first, was unquestionably the main character. He comes across as this creepy stalker that follows this girl and eavesdrop her conversations whenever he has the chance, more on that later. He's also this super edge lord that likes murders and wish to kill his classmate, the same girl he follows around. She ... is this very beautiful girl named Anna Yamada, an model and actress.

The main character is definitely the main reason people stop watching this show, he does seem very creepy and edgy when you first watch it, but then if you actually stop and think about it, he is just a 13 year old kid. Do you remember what you were like when you were 13? Because I do. I used to LOVE Kirito and think I was just like him.

In five years i'm sure the main character will look back, and get phisically hurt when remembering these behaviors, like we all do.
Maybe this isn't enough of a justification for you. In that case, I would still recommend watching it past episode one.
There's definitely character development and as they get closer, he starts to see things differently.

I enjoyed Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu. There are some very funny and sweet moments just like any other Rom-Com should have. Also the quality of the animation was quite good. I would have liked this show a lot more if the Male MC were more deranged. I think its kind of messed up how he only fantasizes about murdering Yamada for like one or two episodes, and then it never really comes up again. Also, the entire first season is "Will-They,Won't-They" and unlike say Kaguya I do not really find their daily not being honest with themselves or each other very amusing because ... the entire gimmick of this show lies in the Male MC of this show having Chunibyo syndrome and the female MC being the pretty popular girl. I will not be in a rush to watch the second season, because at the end of the first season I did not really feel too much investment in any of the characters.

PRODUCTION EXCELLENCE
There is certainly nothing dangerous to your eyes in relation to the show’s production quality. The character and backgrounds are smoothly drawn, while movement and facial expressions are near the standard of My Dress Up Darling for a slice of life rom-com. Most notably is its use of shading to set its mood. Due to the obviously serious nature of a student wanting to murder someone, scenes are frequently set at twilight or in spaces that are dimly lit reflecting the interaction between Ichikawa’s darker intentions and the light to which he is exposed through Yamada. So far, it has not done anything particularly ... novel in terms of scene framing, but it is slice of life anime produced very well.

INITIAL IMPRESSION: INTENTION, POTENTIAL BRILLIANCE, AND POTENTIAL DISAPPOINTMENT
As the main character Ichikawa is at odds with himself regarding the female lead Yamada, some may think the show is at odds with itself in its intention. Is it a contemplative examination of a troubled character’s psyche or a fun rom-com with a serious twist? Is Yamada a loveable ditz or a selfish airhead? Is Ichikawa deplorable or someone with whom to sympathize? Consequently, though the show seems to clearly be successfully moving in a "disordered intentions turn into love" direction, I'm not sure whether it has successfully portrayed its characters sympathetically enough to root for them.

If the show is purposely wanting the viewer to feel uncomfortable with the setting and characters, then this show has the potential to be brilliant. Details like Ichikawa’s eyes having multiple rings in them i.e. Makima from Chainsawman, his classmates regularly objectifying their female classmates, as well as Yamada’s abnormal height and her vacillation between being self-absorbed, clueless, and possibly burdened successfully creates an atmosphere of 'weirdness' and frustrating dissatisfaction likened to Ichikawa’s general frustration that convinces him he’s sick in the head.

If it is not, then it could be shooting itself in the foot for any future payoffs. Ichikawa is a very interesting character, but his moral commitment is frightening in a real-life context where school killings are reported too often. Some of his consequent behavior is authentic, for lack of a better term, and troubling. Yamada as a female lead is, I think, a polarizing character. Her design is attractive and she clearly has a deeper burden that hasn’t been revealed outright yet. However, Yamada may for some veer towards the “unlikeable, selfish, and oblivious” side of the spectrum. Large bulks of each episode portray her eating, which at this point is repetitive, but clearly compulsive and will likely have story significance. She regularly makes her best friend physically uncomfortable by leaning on her, sitting on her, or forcing her to carry her despite being twice her size. Essentially, we see a lot of characters doing things for Yamada, but don't see Yamada doing anything particularly good for any other characters except for not ignoring Ichikawa. Really, there has only been one instance of equal reciprocation between her and Ichikawa at this point

Regardless, despite some lack of sympathy for the leads and some questions that are not answered, I find the premise alone compelling enough to continue watching.

CONCLUSION
Overall, this show is still worth watching through to its conclusion if you are a romance fan. Some may empathize with the characters for the same reasons I am disconnected with them and there some genuinely interesting things that it does in addition to its excellent premise. Personally, I hope that its intention because more clear as we learn more about the characters.

Years after Mitsudomoe, the funniest sh*t you'll ever see if you're into nonsensical comedy, from the same author, we get a romcom with a twist, or is it?

The premise presented is of a protagonist which fantasizes about killing people, specially the most popular girl of his class, who is pretty, cute, funny, airhead, glutton, popular, model... just the most perfect girl possible. A beauty and the beast kind of story. That premise holds for about one episode.

From the second onwards, we can already see that this "fantasy" is perhaps a kind of defense mechanism he has so as to not interact with people. He thinks ... of himself a creep, and thus, is shy and insecure with girls. He thinks about killing the girl precisely because he finds her so desirable, and with his self-pity, he thinks she would never even think about having a relationship with him, not even friendship.

Despite abandoning the premise, it is a fairly enjoyable romcom. It made me laugh a couple times and the couple is kind of cute, but there a lot of problems with the setting. If i could define this with one word, it would be mild.

First of all, the protagonist. Even his defining characteristics are very mild. He is shy, but just a little; psychopathic, but just a little; perverted, but just a little. Perhaps his defining feature would be his passiveness. Everything happens with him and to him and he takes almost no initiative.

Oh, and he is VERY presumptuous as well. When he sees her sad, crying or even laughing, he assumes the reason; And EVERYTIME he is wrong. Most romcom protagonists are dumb, this one is dumb squared. "But that is because he is shy". That is the thing, he is only shy when convenient. If the author kept his premise in which the protagonist thinks everyone sees him as a creep for at least a couple episodes, the development would be much more believable: He could try to avoid her in fear of being rejected and actually learn to get rid of most of his insecurities and become a better man from that, but no. He is mild from start until the end.

On the other hand, the perfect girl he is infatuated with is precisely the one who actually does something. For no reason at all, she likes him from the start and SHE is the one who pursues him. You know the typical romcom where the guy pursues the girl who is shy and overthinks situations they're in? He's the same thing, with roles reversed. He is the "girl" of the relation and she is the one who most directly shows her feelings, despite he constantly refusing to see it.

There's also the fanservice. Since they're teenagers, the boys will talk about sex stuff or the girls bodies. There are a lot of boob or ass shots and the protagonist also has a boner in a lot of these situations, but nobody ever notices it, conveniently. I prefer when either the perv side is for comedic purposes or the anime actually embraces these situations in an actually serious way to show the characters really want each other, at least without the "shy boner". Again, even in this, it is mild.

A minor aspect, but i think i should mention: Sometimes the head proportions are VERY off. Some scenes they're fine, others they're much smaller or even squished.

To conclude: This anime is a fairly classic romcom. It is not bad, but a lot of it's "twists" aren't really that interesting, if you think about it. Enjoyable, but there are a lot of better options available.

Ah finally, after several decades we have the kind of a show that doesn't reveals some kind of kink fetishes and weird harems in order to win some kind "love is war" trope. Which is why i honestly enjoyed every bit of this show, the only thing i can't recommend this to everyone is the kind of progression romance anime tropes that we all had seen before. In these 12 episodes of Boku no Kokoro Yabai Yatsu is another kind of show that revolves around a boy named Ichikawa Kyoutaro. A young boy that is is "broken" on his mind. What all his thinking is ... a murder, murder, and murder but can't actually do murders, rather than its just some sort of defense mechanism because of a past that he cannot forget. Meet, Anna Yamada. Carefree, airhead, loves snacking, and pure. in one occasional average day where both of them meet in library and Kyoutaro single handedly caught Anna eating in Library in such a weird manner. Because of this meeting, both of them has casually progressed into their relationship more as Kyoutarou began to question and tear down his murderous intend. Such a kind relationship!
Boku no Kokoro Yabai Yatsu is a simple, endearing, heartwarming show that leaves every episode in an impression of a cozy paced anime where it’s the kind of the story that began from zero to lover. This show is nothing to compare in terms of those harems' anime (which is nowadays, becoming more popular and popular) and could become a break to those of who wanted to be laid down to a “complex story” to a cozy anime of two couples trying to progress their way into their relationship. I personally couldn’t really recommend this to everyone-after having a battle with myself- as there are some scenes that is cliche, predictable, and didn’t leave a very good impression. But as I completed this show. I personally enjoyed it because of how the story progress and more. Now to break down things!

Story 7/10
Boku no Kokoro Yabai Yatsu revolves around two couples trying to progress through relationship through odds and end, to whatever misunderstanding they are facing, misjudgment of something so simple, but could make someone else fight. Yeah, it’s a show that’s reflected to our ordinary life, its ordinary that we could throw back to our memory of how we fought through small things, how we deal with things that is actually so small, but it turns out big. This show is a much more of a realism drama, even though there are some parts of it doesn’t makes sense. My personal opinion, because the background was set as a “junior highschooler” takes as a chance that this is what they did foolishly without even thinking the consequences of what they did later on. This is things starts to get exciting because of their “premature” love, they explore and find new feelings everyday as they grow just like fire. Objectively, the story isn’t repeating but there are some parts that is not acceptable in some of the viewers, including the murder one where that is a sensitive part that is supposed not to be touched. In some part of the show there are also some parts that is predictable, but the execution was good, and it leaves a good impression. Some part doesn’t, however. Now, im always trying to keep my reviews spoiler free as if to not make anyone experience ruined just because I wrote this small review. But in some part is so cliche that we’ve been bored of this scene dozens a million of times, you can't even count how much this kind of tropes existed. But it's saved because of the good execution. The truly thing that stands out in this show is how these two couple, Anna Yamada and Kyoutarou start to progress their feelings and how they resonance, how they react, and how they will change furthermore. To be frank, there’s nothing changing except how Anna will to Kyoutaro as she began to talk more to him more and more as if she went from curious to attracted and fell in love. This is also the part where Kyoutarou also began realizing his feelings more and more, as if the murderous intend is gone throughout the show and only showing how it was his defense mechanism all the time. I really appreciate a writing that shows a simple progress like this, but heartwarming at the same time. But I personally still cannot recommend the story. So go if you liked some kind of reused tropes and progressive, cute, heartwarming story.

Art 8/10
The art is subtle and good and match the rhyme of “your average romance anime” what stood out more is that there are some details here and there that you don’t really remember that is actually popping more than you can remember. Did I also how the show has some kind stuff with lights and all? Well, that’s what makes it good, the execution of “executing” some crucial part on this show is well done. I liked the chill art like this as if giving me another cozy vibe, reminding me of some anime as well. Besides that, nothing to say anymore, as the art is constant and visually beautiful. The negatives? Well, it looks weird in some certain way, there are some parts where you had to look twice of sometimes how weird the character it is. And there are some inconsistencies between character that doesn’t make sense at all, at this time they are there with the details provided, and at time the details just gone like winds. As if we didn’t notice about the weird change of this detail. But overall, it’s a subtle good cozy vibe that I and other people could enjoy.

Soundtrack 8/10
On point! that’s the very perfect word to describe it, because the nature cozy vibes of this show, the soundtrack have some perfect follows up where they enter the area of perfectly flowing with the show that it looks like the show itself was drown into some kind of another world. I personally liked these feelings because how this was perfectly drawn out each scene by scene. But the downside is sometimes in some scenes are lacking perfectly emitted soundtrack that makes the scene a little bit dull and boring. It would be a solid 9/10 if it wasn’t for these mistakes and all, or if you even consider it a mistake, it was not a mistake and was purposely intended.

Animation 9/10
Consistent, very detailed, and sometimes wakes little john inside (unrelated but whatever). Honestly nothing to say about the animation, in this recent year where animating a single complex movement isn’t a thing that is hard to do but easier than done. I liked every movement of the character, how they perfectly react, a beautiful mimicry and how some simple scene turned into a mesmerizing scene because of the animation. A plus point!

Conclusion:
I cannot recommend this to you, But I didn’t say that this anime isn’t worth your time, I’d totally watch this while I have some time to enjoy some cozy backseating anime while alone drinking some coffee in the afternoon. It’s the kind of show that will make you irritated at some point, but agreeably cute and a worth a try.

The Dangers in My Heart was a really great watch if you've heard great things about it but want to go in with a healthy sense of skepticism. That's how I started off this series and I was definitely on the fence in the first two episodes, but by episode three I was very much hooked.

The beginning shows the main character, Ichikawa, to be having some really dark, brooding thoughts, but it becomes obvious very soon that he's just an edge-lord. What I came to really enjoy about this anime was just how accurately it portrays middle school (well, at least personality-wise). Everyone is ... incredibly self-conscious, the boys have gross "locker room" talk in the middle of their classroom (which the shows puts them down for), girls are very worried about their looks. Ichikawa ultimately is the embodiment of a middle schooler, with deciding he's some social outcast and can't bring himself out of this negative headspace.

Ichikawa's self-consciousness really starts to bleed into the romance plot line. Yamada, the female lead, is the popular and pretty girl in the class, as is common in romance anime. Because of her status, he is quick to assume that Yamada is either being nice to him or possibly even mocking him through their interactions. This leads to the cliché scenes of one character not getting the hint that you may be accustomed to, but the show has done a really good job of making it feel believable.

As far as tropes go, I feel like Yamada does a great job breaking the mold. A confident female lead that makes passes at the male lead is not unheard of, but her manner of going about it leads to a perfect blend of nervous energy a young girl probably feels talking to her crush while still being brave enough to push things forward for their potential relationship and the plot. Pacing and organic progression are the hardest parts of a good romance story to me, and while the slow burn gets a little ridiculous in the first half of the season, the momentum picks up in a satisfying way in the back-half.

Something else that needs praise is the soundtrack for this show. The opening is very soft-spoken but I ended up finding it stuck in my head just because of how peaceful it is and captures the energy I want while watching romance. Toward the end of the show, each episode has a really genius way of working in the title card with some climactic moment of the show. The soundtrack that plays every time this happens is something I looked forward to almost in the way you looked forward to Roundabout if you watched Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

The side characters are also pleasant. Compared to some of the other romances that have come out recently, they may pale in comparison. However, it was really nice to see Yamada have a large group of female friends who don't overstep boundaries while also prodding her and Ichikawa at the right moments. Ichikawa's sister is probably my favorite side character. She fills the big sister archetype in romance shows that are common to see, but it's obvious immediately that she bullshits a lot of her confidence and it's endearing to see her try to connect with her brother while also admiring the girl he's pursuing.

Finally, my main criticism of the show has to be fanservice. The show features student in junior high and there's no reason to have things like boob jiggle physics or other excessive shots of these actual children going on. In some cases, I can understand that we're in Ichikawa's perspective, but there are also moments, especially in 1-2 episodes, that make Yamada eye candy for the viewer and was really uncomfortable to watch. This is the reason I don't feel comfortable leaving a 10 or giving a hard recommend here. I really enjoyed it but with the "anime bullshit" that comes from the fanservice, I think it's fair to warn viewers in case it's a deal breaker for you.

Watching first and second episodes are very boring but then it becomes very funny and enjoying. When watching sometimes it becomes boring and you just want to skip there but except that i think it's very good anime but last episodes lose the fluency again.

Character developments are good and you will feel it when you start watching the new episodes.

Story is good but don't wait so uniqe things it's basic.

If you love romantic animes you will probably like it but if you watching it because you can't find any interesting anime that you like in your genre you will not like it probably.

I don't normally write reviews, but I feel like I need to put what I feel into words. The show's intro was terrible. They started with this whole edgelord personally for the MC. He was all about death death death, and more death. He wanted to kill someone for crying out loud! And where does this whole murderous act go? Nowhere, no violence or anything to correlate with how he acted in the beginning. I'm not saying violence is a good thing for a "romance" type of show like this, but the fact his whole murderous intent just disappeared is confusing. Why did they even ... bring this part up about him? I'm not sure. The only possible references to his murderous side are just shoved in the show awkwardly, like him reading a "Murder Encyclopedia." Other than this very odd change of character only a couple of episodes in, I do enjoy this show. It's funny, wholesome, awkward, cute, and just a really good cutesy romance show. If it wasn't for the fact that they changed the MC's whole personality, I would've rated this much higher. User rating: 4/10

This review will be broken down into sections on story, characters, and aesthetics. For the purposes of convencience I will refer to the series as 'Bokuyaba' throughout this review.

Story: Bokuyaba is a simple story following the the slow developing romance of its two central characters, Yamada and Ichikawa. Events within the story often revolve around seemingly coincidental interactions between Yamada and Ichikawa. Particularly the early interactions happen in or around the school library, where both of the main characters spend their break times for their own seperate reasons. The story relies on the quirks of Yamada and Ichikawa to drive their interactions, which sometimes results ... in a funny, cute or heartwarming scene, and sometimes results in a moment of typical anime romcom cringe. The cringe moments however, are to be expected given that the characters are inexperienced middle-schoolers, who are both socially inept in their own ways. Ultimately, the cringe wears off as Yamada and Ichikawa become more familiar with one another. A big bonus for some viewers is the use of the unusual height difference between Yamada and Ichikawa. Many vertically challenged male audience members who like taller women will undoubtedly be willing to excuse Yamada's faults to indulge in various self-insert fantasies. Overall Bokuyaba uses the designs of Yamada and Ichikawa to its advantage in its more intimate scenes.


Characters: Bokuyaba is primarily a story driven by its characters. Ichikawa, being the socially awkward main male character, is clearly designed to be a self-insert character for viewers of a similar disposition. Early on, it is emphasised that Ichikawa has something a little bit more wrong about him in the head, with an obsession over the topic of murder, almost framing him as a potential yandere in the opening episodes. This character trait, whilst occasionally relevant, does die off over time, which is overall a positive thing, both for Ichikawa and the series as a whole. This character trait goes underused for the better, however it does raise the question of if it was really necessary for his character at all in the first place. Overall, Ichikawa's introduction is subpar, and he only becomes a likable character after the first 3 or 4 episodes, when his more relatable flaws start to recieve more focus over what is shown prior. Ichikawa does show himself to be a decent person who is just very insecure and low in confidence, however for many viewers, the damage to his image may already be done within the first few episodes

Yamada is subject to a very similar issue at the start of the story, where her eating obsession and general low IQ are overemphasised to a point that will make her initially come off to the viewer as annoying unless they are really into girls who are, quite bluntly, stupid. Yamada does remain a complete dork throughout the majority of Bokuyaba, however after the first few episodes, she starts to actually appear to engage her brain to some extent. Some viewers will likely find her endearing from the start, whilst others will find her annoying, as some of her more low IQ actions are unrealistically dumb by the standards of a reasonable human being.

The side characters are nothing special, but some of Yamada's female friends do play minor roles in ways that bounce off of Yamada's character well. Despite them being very different to Yamada in lots of ways, it is believable that they are friends with her and genuinely care about her.


Aesthetics: The character design is fitting for the main cast and the art style is appealing to the eye. Other than the opening music being decent, there is not much to say about the music. It neither significantly enhances nor takes away from the viewer's enjoyment of the show.

Overall, Bokuyaba gets off to a rocky start, which may spoil the investment of many viewers early on, however, whilst the anime does occasionally do things that will make many viewers cringe, these moments decrease over the runtime of the show. Generally, outside of hardcore romance anime enjoyers, many viewers will likely fall off Bokuyaba quite early unless Yamada is really their type, or if they strongly relate to some of Ichikawa's less concerning character traits. That said, if you can get through the first few episodes without being completely turned off by Bokuyaba, it only gets better from there.

I enjoyed this show overall, but the one thing I couldn’t get over was how unrealistic it was for Yamada to fall for Ichikawa. Sorry, but in a real-life school setting, having the hottest girl in school fall for the loner is impossible.
Not only that, she actively pursues and initiates romantic interest in him. This issue broke all sense of immersion to the story for me and made watching less enjoyable. Even the anime is self-aware enough to know how unrealistic this plot is given the characters' reactions to their relationship.

Yes, I know this is a romance anime where anything is possible and it caters ... to the male fantasy, but it was just too much for me.

I could have believed it more if Ichikawa had to fight to win her over but he literally did a few nice things for her and then she’s in love with him…That's how you know this is a complete fantasy plot devoid of any realism. Ichikawa does nothing to improve himself, he just gets handed out all these awesome situations at his convenience.
The most eye-rolling time was Yamada keeping his drawing of her. A normal person would be creeped out by someone drawing them without permission, especially if it was by the loner of the class...

Now, some redeeming features of Ichikawa is that he is smart, has a good family, and isn’t socially clueless like many other loser MCs in anime, so he's somewhat likable and not someone you get constantly frustrated with.

Overall, if you enjoy wholesome school romance animes, then this one is well-animated and has its funny moments, but I believe it’s rating is inflated from the male audience who fantasize about idols/models falling for them

Romantic sort of shows can impact in many different ways, and with the fact there is a lot of them, it makes it harder and harder to stand out among the crowd.This show is different however, taking a different spin on things, but proving to be a bit...Uneasy to watch to boot.

Story and characters: 6
I'm giving this a higher grade, as when you look at the different kind of characters. There is a lot to like about them. They feel like real characters, and naturally flow together. Not to mention Anna is sweet, even if she's a bit careless at times. However, it's not all ... good. Ichi...Needs real development for the next set of episodes,as honestly. It's come across as some creepy,and awkward person, trying to get the attention of another. I understand he's understanding possible love emotions, but at the same time, the way he goes about it, is very off putting, and down right creepy. Almost stalker like vibes, and is very unlikable to me because of such. I'd hope he gets better, but for the first three episodes, it's very off putting, and could result in one not continuing with the show.

The story follows Ichi, a quiet and awkward kid, who wishes he could just end everyone around him, mainly the popular girl in Anna. But over time, comes to really notice her more and more. It sounds weird, and can sound good too. But it really depends your taste, if you'll like it or not.

Art and sound: 7
There is hardly anything bad about this, as it flows together nicely, and really looks and sounds well done. The lightning really fits the room, and the mood scene by scene, and really fits the show's overall presence. Can't put anything wrong about it there. Even if it doesn't do anything massive to stand out, but it doesn't need to.

I'd take this show with a grain of salt.It may get better, but what weighs it down is it's unlikable MC. It'll stand out for being different, but tat come as a sucker punch to the gut, if a main character doesn't improve from it's start. A hit or miss for sure.
