Both series are placed in a fantasy world and are centered around small groups of characters going on a quest with a war raging on in the background. Both anime are also based on games and characters represent variuos fighting styles (ranged, magical, melee).

When i think about these 2 animes at first a fantasy world comes to my mind :) Story always going fast at both of them. And all of our main chars bad at confession as well :)

Similar style , art , atmosphere , and fantasy if you like it you will like the other ...

Both are from the Tales series. Tales of the Abyss has a different universe than Tales of Symphonia.

Apperance wise they look different but both metion the abyss and the characters talk about the past a lot. Also main char. are not sure of who they really are.

Although they're not very similar but both are fantasy anime, Rokka no Yuusha is more on the mystery side, while Tales of the Abyss is more on adventure. One thing though is very similar it can't be a coincidence is the protagonists of both shows, Adlet from RnY looks the same as Luke from TotA, they also both are arrogant (or have high self-confidence), and both develop their characters and relationships with their allies through the show.

It's one of the four Tales games that were made into anime. Short, but great nonetheless.

Scrapped Princess and Tales of the Abyss have so much in common that fans of one are very likely to enjoy the other. They are both fantasy stories set in a pseudo Medieval setting where lost technology exists in the form of steam driven machines, where spells, sword fighting, prophecies and mystical battles and powerful magical/religious sects dominate. Royal but unfortunate leads and a sense of questing with plenty of travelling thrown in for good measure only make these anime even more alike.

I believe this two anime are really similar to each other. They have almost the same fantasy sitting not to mention action. Both anime have the idea of magic, heroes and legends. Also you can notice a bit more similarities as you watch both animes. However, even thou they both have the same ground of sittings, they still differ with their storyline and that what make it interesting and makes you anticipating and thinking of what might happen next. :D Well I hope that this was helpful :)

Both of these anime are placed in more medieval times. They're main characters both have strong weak points, but can make up for it in some sort of way. They both seem to have a lot of action in them as well.

+ I found the development of main characters to follow similar paths (throughout the duration of the show they both mature from being annoying cowards - one as a timid high school girl and the other a young lordling fussed over and shielded from the big bad world - and grow into their roles + very little romance in both (there are some moments, but not to the point where you could add a romance tag) + both are fantasy adventures + both involve whole countries + they both do a great job of creating their own original worlds, with their own rules, origins and traditions - while one (juuni  read more

Both Main Characters are pretty pathetic Friends support him and becomes strong Weak to strong story Tales of the Abyss doesn't have fan service though But if you like the standard weak to strong then you should watch it

Both series take place in the royal/kingdoms times, and the character cast that are full of quirks. Both also revolve around a bright red-headed protaginist (Luke fon Fabre and Shirayuki), that have to leave their hometown by force. Both protagininsts were also kidnapped at some point in the series, adding plot to the series. The art animation styles are viusally similar, and are very pleasing to watch. The only difference is that Tales of the Abyss has a more advertuous and fantasy theme, and Snow White has more of a shoujo and romantic feel to it. Both animes are both really great, and fun watches.  read more

That annoying protagonist; that one which always gets on your nerves. That selfish little brat that can't seem to think about anyone other than himself. You can't wait for him to mature or to even get out of the picture... which makes his consequent realistic character development and progression all the more gripping and striking. The fantasy world setting and the friends that help help both Hikari and Luke to mature into hugely likeable characters are similar, but the growth itself is the most wonderful shared development to behold. TL:DR: Highly annoying protagonists slowly mature into absolutely lovable characters (and similar feel throughout). Fantasy setting.

Tales of the Abyss and Zestiria are part of the same franchise made by Namco. The stories within the "Tales of" series have common similarities such as "fate", "stopping a great evil", and focus on roughly eight main characters usually.

Both anime are about main characters who start off being annoying selfish people. However, after certain events the MC become more mature and compassionate. Basically, the character development for the mc is similar in both animes

- Both series are adaptation from a game. - both series focus on understanding the mysteries of their worlds. While tales of the abyss focus more action and adventure, Escha & Logy no Atelier: Tasogare no Sora no Renkinjutsushi focus more on fullfilling quests just like in a real game.

Both series come from their popular JRPG. The story and characters are very similar. A civil war between countries occurs and the world is going be destroyed. Our heroes set out on a grand adventure to prevent it from happening. I also recommend other Tales of series: Symphonia, Eternia, Vesperia, and Phantasia.

Both are adventure, with the (excuse me) irritating main character you just want to hit over the head, and surrounded by companions. If you enjoyed Tales of the Abyss, you'll be sure to enjoy and recognize the similarities in Druaga no Tou.

Well, the plot and setting are totally different but both shows have very similar art and animation and both have sword fighting and magic.

The same as Tsubasa Chronicles season 1, the main hero isn't aware of what happened during his childhood, because of an event he does not remember.

For an unknown reason the main lost the memories of his childhood.

In the early 1990s, Record of Lodoss War stood at the forefront of fantasy anime with its heroic fantasy narrative and RPG structure based on Dungeons & Dragons. Despite its popularity at the time, it did not establish a lasting trend in fantasy anime. Console RPGs instead started to look like anime. It is therefore no surprise when a Japanese RPG like Tales of the Abyss is adapted into an anime. It is essentially a heroic fantasy RPG and therefore shares many characteristics with Record of Lodoss War, except with a more complex storyline and different character archetypes. If this is the style of fantasy  read more

Same atmosphere. Both have spells, monsters and a medieval style remembering some Classics RPGs. Also, Tales of Abyss have a RPG game.

The characters in both these animes are pretty similar. Also, they follow the same basic genres and have similar action styles. However in Tales of the Abyss it tskes a more serious turn throughout the story but i believe that is happening in the Tower of Druaga as well (in the second season Sword of Uruk)

Male Main character adds powerful allies to his team and goes on adventures taking on vicious villains. Utawarerumono is more war oriented with far more drama and romance, but both are similar in fighting style and fantasy setting. Both are also based on a video game.

A strong focus on several characters coming together to combat evil. They both have a great mix of magic, comedy, and action. Both have pretty good plot twists as well. The key difference is that Tales of the Abyss tends to focus more on fleshing out its characters (it's twice the length), while Night Wizard skips straight to the action.
