So after watching all 12 eps I can safely say this

This was one heck of an anime, you this badass and extremely smart MC who has the balls to do everything. On his side he has a beautiful waifu ( mommy Ninym) an smart and outstanding waifu which is perfect for the MC. Both together make the perfect duo and with hints of romance it all stays spicy. Story and plot is so dam good. You can't expect anything because the MC is 200 IQ. Personally I was unable to get anything right. So many good plot twists that keep you in. Making you ... want to watch more. THIS ANIME NEVER GETS BORING there is always so much changeing. World building is great and keeps on changing with new countries and new characters so its really good. You get a really good bond with all characters because you get to know quite a bit about them. Sometimes you may have a hard time following but at the end it all gets explained really wel. I probebly had problems cause I had to wait a week till next ep. By then i would forget somethings cause other animes you know. In the end this is a real good anime 9/10 for mee if I could have watched all 12 eps non stop then 10/10

This ‘The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt’ is fantastic in its story and characters. Even though its performance in art is anything but masterpiece, it is still a highly recommended anime.

The most significant advantage of this anime is that it provides Realistic political shows instead of the childish naive political claims which are often made in similar anime. Unlike other anime’s ‘Great Ideas’ or ‘Great Dreams’, like ‘that I will liberate all slaves’ or ‘that I will eliminate class barriers’, this anime’s political plots focus on small specific reachable political interests. Also, the character issues their political interests for realistic ... or in other word materialistic reasons,instead of vain justice or impulsive ideas.

Also, the romantic plots of the anime are great. The heroine and the hero veiledly but not insignificantly show their love. The romantic plots are inserted into the political plots perfectly.

This is your typical and average fantasy-comedy anime. Main character is a prince, that does everything perfectly despite not even trying aka the best student, the best war general, the hottest guy in the world and etc. Overall, it's pretty bland and mediocre, if you want to have something as a background noise - that's your choice.
Side characters are cardboards without a story who exist only to say how good and awesome the prince is. You have your typical brown hair little-sister, small-chest white haired waifu, big chest blond waifu, bunch of evil guys who's being shown for a few times and then died ... instantaneously and super smart prodigy main character.

It is surprisingly nice and pleasant to watch.

This is not an isekai (surprisingly), but an actual fantasy set in faux-medieval faux-euvropean setting. The art is nice. While the visuals are somewhat typical for modern anime, there's some character in art works, lines are soft, characters are pretty, and backgrounds are detailed. I haven't noticed any ugly CGs in this anime.

One thing that really stands out is the duo formed by male and female leads. Female lead has a very skilled voice actress, and together they create very entertaining banter, back and forth dialogue and so on. A lot of this title revolves around comedy, but ... in case of this duo comedy works, even with some thing being silly.

As a result, there's a pleasant experience, that's not full of cliches (there are some lciches), and is entertaining, because it looks like you're watching characters and not tropes/archetypes you've seen thousands times before.

6/10 story, 6/10 art, 7/10 sound, 6/10 character, 6/10 enjoyment, 6/10 overall.

I'd recommend to check it out if you have the time, so far it has been interesting.

You have to have the right expectations for every show in order to enjoy it. If you come into this one expecting some super serious political masterpiece you'll be disappointed. But if you've read the "wants to sell his kingdom" part of the synopsis or seen the poster with the half-a-dozen waifus, you should already expect something lighter that pokes some fun of the political genre, along with other fantasy tropes like harems and such.

The "Genius Prince" part of the title is not to be taken literally. Sometimes he has his moments, but half the times the guy's plans fail - especially the ones about ... him personally profiting from his kingdom. True, often they "fail well", especially from the viewpoint of his people, but even that comes from an equal dose of dumb luck or plot convenience and not his genius. And sometimes even when he succeeds, it's in ways that make no sense or defy common sense. If you try to be too critical of this aspect, you'll find many flaws. For me they were small enough to forgive and find the show fun and entertaining overall, but different viewers have different levels of "suspension of disbelief" or "putting up with bullshit for the sake of enjoyment". You better just give it a try and decide for yourself.

According to my personal threshold, only the very last episode kinda went overboard with the unreasonable "tactical bullshit", to the point I was even considering halving my rating. In the end I decided to leave it above the similarly-themed but way more pretentious "realist hero" show that's also continuing during this season, since I enjoyed it more aside of this one episode.

Politics.

I sure do love politics. However, How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom leaned over towards philosophy and fantasy more than actual politics that would grip you harder than the funny owl in that one isolated corner in Deepwoken, and in its second season had continue to spat in my face some harem romance that I frankly did not care about (you see, I am here for the medieval politics).

Unlike Realist Hero, The Genius Prince's Guide to Utilizing Clairvoyance and Foresight to Beat Up Everyone Else But Still Having the Luck of Your Mother maintains a reasonable degree of political intrigue alongside a drama better ... executed than your family after your father defected to South Korea as well as some comedy that slaps a bit better than Will Smith. The intertwining of religion and culture, socioeconomic differences, and racism with a little too much of rolling a nat 1 on your d20 for "please do not fail" but still bounce back just to get hit by "I am still poor" simply makes this anime the best anime of its season. Not only that, Genius Prince introduces and depicts the values of philosophy with more sensible realism than Realist Hero. This is literally a rant against Realist Hero at this point.

Overall, Genius Prince is best catered for those more interesting in drama, comedy, and medieval politics. However despite being a genius, the prince cannot obtain the $$$ cash due to the curse of "the story is pretty alright and entertaining so far, and the light novel has yet to reach Volume 69 so uhhhhh the prince is unfortunately still poor".
Realist Hero is best served fresh for shounen harem enjoyers with most likely no interests in philosophy or politics and rather play anime fighting simulators than rogue lineage 2: the deep calls and makes you awake.

Anyhow, the only thing I'm not rating a 10 is sound as the opening is not really memorable. Of course, this is subjective (a review is subjective).

King Solgest is a chad, and unlike Wein, he ain't maidenless.

So, the fantasy 'nation building' genre is seeing a rise in popularity,
Obviously this is being compared to Realist Hero, but there are others than have also done this before, with many titles fading into obscurity (because they just weren't that good) leaving only a few rare standout names

This is (in my opinion) superior to Realist Hero, as it focuses on the politics, and on the military actions,

Politics is a dance, and as this shows, it often can involve several partners, you can not act unilaterally, as you have to consider what the other person will do, and even then, they may have their own ... intentions. (something Realist Hero pays lip service to, but often forgets)
Making plans is fine, but it's how you adapt when those plans fall apart, and that is what this does time and again.

A lot of the interactions between the characters tends to revolve around trying to gauge their intent and politically outmanoeuvre each other,
There are a few exceptions, but people who are unfit to be on the political stage, tend to leave the political stage.

So if you like political scheming and subterfuge, then this is the anime for you.

Now there are a couple of 'Harem' elements, but they aren't obnoxious, the girls aren't all throwing themselves at our protagonist, nor is he the dense male protagonist.
Instead it is more of a recognition that marriage amongst royalty used to be used as a political tool, so here, when the prospect of marriage is thrown around, it is simply because people want something, and will stand to gain politically from it.

This was very promising in the beginning. I thought I’d finally see a well made trash mc with ill intentions and can make me laugh. Unfortunately, his plans changed and he started doing things more seriously. It got too political and relationships in the anime didn’t matter anymore. It was just war after war after war, no stopping. His ideas and execution is good but there is no break whatsoever and it just gets kinda old. People compared it to [How a realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom] and said it was better but I personally think that one has a good storyline and things fell ... into place. For this anime I continued pondering whether to quit or not because it was so tedious to watch.

There was some time when I see an anime not been smart or not but I can say for sure that this anime is smart and fun to watch.

Story: The strategy to beat other kingdoms with your kingdom and Try to think how can you outsmart them and outplay them. It gets a score of 10.

Art: It's a decent animation and I don't see anything wrong. It gets a score of 10.

Sound: It's a decent sound and I don't see anything wrong. It gets a score of 10

Character: They are funny and I love how they think about everything.

Enjoyment: I love when an anime tries ... to make you smart and I love that.

Overall: It gets 10 out of everything and I am not trying to say it is perfect but for me, it is so good and you better go watch it.

This anime is good. Its not bad, and it is no masterpiece, it is just good. I started watching this anime after seeing Muse Asia posting the episodes on their YouTube channel and I also found out that one of my fav Seiyuus is currently voicing one of the characters of this show(I am very sure you know who she is). At that time, I haven't started watching it yet. Instead, I went to mal to look for more info about this anime, since some animes aren't for everyone. As a person who really like fantasy and comedy, I decided to give this a shot. ... The story is ok, it is moving in a fine pace and the setting of the story is pretty interesting. This anime is basically about a prince call Wein who is ruling his country s his father was sick, and Wein wants to sell away this country as he doesn't like work(I mean, who likes work?), but in the end he still help his country and prevent it from getting attacked(which is funny and interesting at the same time). I really like the art as they designs the characters well. The girls are definitely waifu material, but like every fantasy anime, the character design of the guys is not as good as the girl's character design. Even though Wein is not as smart as Light Yagami, he as a character is still lovable as he is the main reason why the anime is funny. My personal fav character is Ninym(Watch it then you will get it, it is hard to put it in words!)! I personally don't hate this anime and I pretty much enjoyed it. A young prince and heir-apparent to the throne is viewed by all around him as being every bit as competent and reliable as is befitting of a kingdom's future king, but the prince has a secret that only his attendant knows: he wants absolutely nothing to do with the welfare of his kingdom, which is in the throes of poverty. Such is the premise of this show. The setting is a sort of medieval alternative-Europe, where there does not seem to be any magic to speak of and most problems are solved by quill, voice, or sword.

The writing is above average, but only marginally; many ... of the events that transpire throughout the show are not so far-fetched as to require you to suspend your disbelief for them happening, which is refreshing in a medium that prides itself in incredulity. The action is quick and possesses a rare degree of finality - when characters die, they die quickly. No monologues, no speeches, no meaningful last words. There is a layer of gravity to the work that induces a sense of stakes at play where adversity is concerned.

Where the writing falls flat is in its tenuous, one-sided execution of more complicated ideas and themes; the main character is one of the very worst kinds, in that he is written as more intelligent than every other character despite his ideas not being particularly brilliant. It is a case of centralizing genius by surrounding it with alienating incompetence, which is the lazy method of writing a thoughtful character. This would be a gloss-over point were the show thematically different, but in this one this genius prince is the sole solver of all the problems not merely domestic, but foreign too. He has no foil - everyone else simply fails to outwit him. There is no development here as a consequence.

Moving on, the animation is of a varied quality. For the most part it is a completely unremarkable show where the animation is concerned. Throughout the show, however, there are several instances where there are rapid cuts being made and it becomes a touch difficult to understand what is actually happening. The final episode is the worst offender in this regard.

To summarize: there is no outstanding quality present in this work. It does nothing exceptionally well, aside from its depiction of killing others, and is shallow in living up to its own expectations of cementing its main character as a genius--he is simply infallible, a sort of Gary Stu of politics. I cannot recommend the show, nor can I dismiss it as there is certainly far worse looming in this genre. I suggest this: if the setting and premise above have inspired curiosity in you, go and watch it and form your own opinion of it.

This is my first review, so it might not be the most well thought out but please bear with me. So first of all I decided to give this series a 7/10 overall since it was actually quite enjoyable. But honestly speaking, I can also kind of understand why some people might hate this series. The general idea of the story - an incredibly talented prince unintentionally becoming an amazing leader for his country - is honestly not bad. Sure, it's not the most original idea in the world and there are plenty of other manga and light novels that have similar themes. But as ... far as the anime onlys are concerned, this kind of idea is not that common. And the implementation of the idea was pretty average(or maybe a but above average) as well. The animation and art was decent but not outstanding, the music did its job but only few stood out, and a lot of characters are not as fleshed out as it could be. In fact, the show is mediocre in so many aspects that its faults are also easy to see.

Mainly the fact that, except for a few specific people in the show, everyone else are idiots. And yes, I know this is technically accurate historically if we imagine this to be in an age before even guns were invented, but it doesn't change the fact that the show could have done some more with the antagonists to actually make them seem... threatening. The only people I currently see that can be remotely a threat to the MC in terms of intelligence is Lowa(the princess) and the nun.

However, despite this (in my opinion massive) fault, the show is able to be enjoyable. Not everything was well thought out but it's more than enough as entertainment as long as you turn your brain off and just try to enjoy the show. I also really like the relationship between the main heroine Ninim and the MC. Furthermore, although a bit stale, the witty dialogue between some of the cast is pretty enjoyable.

Is this series a masterpiece? Definitely not. It has quite a few flaws that I didn't mention in this review and not everything was done perfectly. Nevertheless, it is a show that has its own, unique appeal.

So far, this anime is actually really great. The main character (Wein) is a fairly likable character, as his personality is interesting yet not over the top. Because this MC has a 'genius' based personality, it's important to both keep him believable and realistic, while also finding a way to express his cleverness. Tensai Ouji is also directed as more of a comedy, which explains its high enjoyment rating from me. Tensai Ouji does an outstanding job of ... keeping between the two extremes. Many anime, such as this one's competitor "Genjitsu Shugi" (How a realist hero built a kingdom) is more of a serious, more realistic yet boring anime. Tensai Ouji is more of a lighthearted, fun, but less realistic anime. In terms of enjoyment, I personally think that this makes Tensai Ouji more fun to watch, and makes the main character more relatable. The sound and art are, however, things that can be improved on. These aspects on their own have not much to complain about, however it also doesn't bring anything exactly to the table. There are some moments where opportunities for more explosive/interesting presentations of events were available, and the anime seemingly did not capitalize on it. That said, the anime as a whole is still a really good watch for this season, so I do still recommend it. If you like a silly, fun anime with some 'aha!' moments, even with mediocre presentation, then this is the one for you.

Finally, after countless fantasy shows I can say I found one which is worthy to be my favorite in this genre. I really did not expect this from a comedy like show, but here we are. I found something what I was utterly enjoying. There is everything what I can ask for. Good characters, interesting and witty dialoges, ulterior motives, a lot of laughing, sudden seriousness and so on. I have to point out though that this show is only for those who enjoy to listen others speaking about politics, mostly in formal language. Some of these conversation are really worthy to chew on a ... bit though, despite being a comedy.

Let's talk about why I love this show. The characters. Hell, they are good. I rarely say this, but all of them. Even the sidekicks. Every one of them has it's own personality. None of them are good or evil, only people with goals. Every one of them has ulterior motives (and I'm not talking about the blind love towards the MC). This creates a wary and uneasy atmosphere, however it was dissolved by the clever placement of the jokes. So the show itself is pretty easy to watch despite being a political chess game.

As for the other aspects of the show? Well, the story is unpredictably predictable. The protagonist makes a 1000 IQ plan. It doesn't really works out as he planned, so he is forced to figure out an another 1000 IQ move. Which doesn't turn out as he expected either. So even though he wanted to be just a nobody, he slowly became famous for his deeds, and it paints more and more target on his back. Don't get me wrong it was quite entertaining, but you doesn't have to be a sherlock to understand it. You'll not have sleepless nights analyzing what have happened.

As for the humor. I appriciate the fact that the writers didn't force the jokes when it was not fitting. They let the serious scenes sink in. They didn't try to crack a joke on every corner. The benefit of this approach is the jokes doesn't get overused or repetative. The source of the humor was mostly the lazyness or the pompusness of the protagonist, but it was only a facade, and not his entire personality.

The animation and the sounds? Well, it was fine by me. If I didn't read about it's wonkiness beforehand I wouldn't even notice it. Nothing fancy though, just the bog standard fantasy anime visuals.

Finally, let me talk about the characters one by one, because they really deserve it:
-Wein: He is a regent prince in a backwater insignificant kingdom. At first he appears as a lazy always whiny typical one dimensional egoistic pompous bastard. Whom only purpose is to be the source of the comedy. Honestly, I was planning to tear him apart in this review, because of how generic he seemed first. But then it happens. Let me give you a quote: "Ninym is my heart. And all who wound my heart shall die by my own hand." He caught me there. I was not expecting it from a seemingly irresponsible and lazy dude. After this scene his personality slowly started to unfold. He is cunning, ruthless, immoral, his tong is like a sneak, yet he is always cherish. Also I like how he is usually understanding, and supportive. This does not come in the from the typical childish naivite though. No-no-no, it comes from intel gathering, and mindgames, so he knows who he can trust. Even when he forgive for someone, he expects the guilty to prove himself (unlike you know the usual: "You killed my parents, half of my hometown, but you said sorry, so from now we are best friends"). Lastly, he is the ultimate ex machina. He plans everything, but rarely goes anything according to the plan, so he has to improvise all the time (and often gamble). Actually this is what drives him forward to became a better person.

-Ninym: F*cking finally, the sidechick who is supportive, but not just blindly loves and follows everything what the main character does and wants. She really is the better half of him. By the way when I say "supportive" it not only means emotional support here, but she make herself useful. Also a sidechick who keep herself away from the stupid haremish catfights. Even when she does caught up in one, she handle it in a cunning way by clever useage of words. Also there is one more thing I want to point out about her, she is completly aware of her common origin, and she knows most likely she'll never be more than just the most trusted advisor of the MC (the best she can dreaming of being a consort), and behave accordingly (at least publicly). She is clearly a seasonal waifu nominee for me.

-Lowellmina: Well, the main love interest, and "incidentally" the 4th heir to the imperial throne in the middle of a succession crysis in which her 3 older brother fights for the throne. However she is dreaming of being an emperor too. WoW! I mean a women, who has goals apart from being on the side of the MC and watch him in admiration? I know, right. Also she is more than capable of achiving her goal, since she quite cunning and playing her cards really well. Additionally she is uses the MC for her own goals (and vice-versa) in a really entertaining way.

-Zeno: Even though she is a side character, she is intersting for me because for her the mc is more like a role model than a love interest. So you see there is three girls in a show, and nothing haremish happens. That's quite rare.

-Falanya: She is the little sister of the MC. Well you see, she is a child. So of course she doesn't have the neccesary life experience to be able to outplay others. Yet she aware of the fact that she is in the den of the wolfes, and she is the sheep. She is trying to meet the expectations though, and it is adorable. Exactly what I would expect from a child who was raised in a royal family.

-The three heirs and other kings: They doesn't have much screentime, so they are much less fleshed out. However even though they where clearly the "enemies", they were not portrayed as evil. They were reasonable, even though hostile to the MC. Just as you would expect in a power struggle.

All in all this is the show what the realist hero could have been if it wouldn't have became a harem waifu attention race, and it would have been written well. Don't get me wrong the series is nowhere near perfect, but some of the aspects which actually matters to me is.

There's not much I can really say about this show. An intellectually overpowered character with waifu material constantly around him to casually show you how powerful he is....wow such show. It would have been nice if Wein, the lead protagonist, committed to what he set out to do in the beginning (which was likely the draw of the show for many), but...nah just 'accidently' build an empire (tee hee).

I don't remember anything particularly interesting about the show outside of some well endowed princess, so if that's your thing, you'll ignore much of what I just said and enjoy this show quite a lot. It ... would have been nice if the show started to lean into an ecchi plot...but no...we have something else.

I usually don't like Feudal-Political shows, because most of the time i don't understand half of what is happening, and the twists are just ass-pulled plot devices. Tensai Ouji doesn't break from this. It also takes tropes and themes from other fantasy shows, like the classic OP protagonist. Most of the time, Wein explains what he is doing to a character that is as oblivious to the situation as we are, and then does something unexpected, and solves it brilliantly.

So what is good about this show? The fact that it is a comedy. Yes, the reason why Wein is going through so much stress ... over political issues is so stupid it is funny. The way he deems himself as a genious, plans carefully everything so he can sell the kingdom and leave it all behind, but then some stupid noble's son kill himself drunk and ruins everything is hilarious, and honestly makes up for everytime i didn't understand what was going on.

You see, most of the time we see mistery, or clash of minds in anime, it is just ass-pulls and situations going perfect. This one considers the most realist thing you can have in a plot, and uses it amazingly for comedy: Chaos. Chaos will make sure that even our OP mastermind protagonist will be entertainig.

I do need to mention that, while some characters are too dumb to compete, others like Ninym and Lowellmina will sometimes make Wein look stupid, and they are honestly the best characters of the show. The relationship between those three is so cool i started wishing we would see some episodes on their time studying together.

Art is leaning towards mediocre, but I honestly didn't mind the animated dolls/dots/chibis/flags representing how armies were moving in the battlefield, because they do the job at helping visualize what is going on. I prefer this over half-assed animation.

Overall, even though the show suffers from budget production, it is interesting. I never got bored from it, and even laughted sometimes. I was expecting a horrendous anime, but finished it actually wanting a second season.

Currently on episode 7 and I can say this was a very good watch.

It may not be the best out there when it comes to the plot twists or the strategies because most of them were very simple/obvious and hence predictable.

The MC is not necessarily smart, his enemies are just pretty stupid tbh. However, I still appreciate that they're trying to showcase a 'smart' character in the series (tbh I'm just a sucker for such characters). I do acknowledge that the MC seems 'overpowered' and the events that are happening in the story literally just showcases him to be successful and every sht ... he does.

Also his waifu is not annoying. She actually does support him and the plot does not necessarily push the two of them to be a 'couple' at the moment which I like. I just wish she contributes more in the planning of their strategies but I guess the plot just wants it to focus more on the MC.

However, I wouldn't say this was a bad show. This was still pretty much an enjoyable show. The way I'd put this show is that I highly recommend this if you have free time and you just couldn't find any anime to watch at the moment. It's a show that you can watch to pass time.

First of all, i think civilization building or governance type animes is fun to watch.

This anime is similar to Realist hero but i think this better.

What makes it better that it just gives you the basics like realist hero S1 but it fell when S2 came around. This gives semi-not boring dialogue that not last for 2 episodes, has humour, and not straight to your face.

It could be better with a better animation and character writing. A solid 7.

When starting this series I thougth it would be a lighthearted comedy where the MC pulls ridiculous and absurd stunts completely by accident, which happen to save the kingdom he originally wanted to sell off. Instead I got an okay political(loosely) story with a compelling and complex(ish) plot with okay characters and semi-decent action.

The story and the writing are the heroes and saviors of this series. I enjoy the banter and dialog between the characters and there are nice and well executed plot twists here and there. At times it can ... drag a little but it picks up nicely.
Characters themselves are not that deep. The MC is obviously the star of the show being the most cunning and complex one, but undeniable also a powerfantasy supercharacter which I know a lot of people don't care about. Other characters are a bit one dimensional and true to the medium; caricatures of a certain type of a character.
I surprised me how heavy(if you wanna call it that) the story got comparing to the initial comedy start. I wish it would've kept more of the selling-off-kingdom jokes.

The animation is horrible. It is not the worst you have seen but it is distracting to me at least. There are nice shots here and there but overall quite dodgy. A couple of good fight scenes.

Sounds are okay. It is a very mediocre soundtrack and sound design for a show of this calibre.
