It has been good so far and it looks extremely promising.

The source material of this anime is above average and I used to read it for quite some time. The anime adaptation rushed a few things a bit in one episode, but so far has been fairly faithful to the source material, and enjoyable.

The story is yet another isekai, but thankfully this time it does NOT devolve into some sort of power trip/harem collection, and instead is telling about characters which are interesting. it is also good that it has plenty of humor, but at the same time can occasionally turn dark/bloody. That makes it read more

The art is really good. The characters are quite detailed, golems are quite detailed, backgrounds aren't bad. The manga uses CG for some backgrounds (and objects), but it is handled well, and it is not really noticeable unless you start looking for it.

The idea has incredible potential. I mean, a flying magic castle under protagonists's control. There are so many things that could be done with that!

But, the Story and Characters. By the Elder Gods, they're are truly awful.

The story goes for simplistic drama in the worst shounen traditions, and every character close to the MC is incredibly, irredeemably naive and pretty much stupid. MC read more

It is not that great. It starts out interesting, but quickly loses steam and switches to a fairly slow-paced uneventful mode. The visuals are fairly typical and do not exactly shine, backgrounds aren't that great, however there are at least two nice voice actresses, which voice side characters.

In greater details.

Story: 5/10

The source material for this work isn't bad but isn't stellar either (I used to read it long time ago till it sort of fizzled out). There was a great potential here for some sort of conspiracy or political play, but it isn't realized because the world and characters aren't fleshed out with read more

It had potential, but they squandered it and couldn't realize it.

It goes like this. There is a main character and bunch of side characters. The main character is fun, but the side characters are not. They're awful. They're stereotypical, cliched, annoying. The anime spends plenty of time on both main and side characters. The scenes with the side characters irritated me to no end, partly because those weren't in the manga and partly because how shallow and stereotypical those characters were - on shounen level.

However, by the episode 7 the anime becomes better, as it throws some new information that wasn't in the manga, and read more

It is above average but not without flaws.

As far as I can tell, this anime is shoujo/josei type, meaning it is targeting female audience, and that affects the story/plot, and might not be everybody's cup of tea.

In general, it is slower paced, calmer, character are typically more life like without exaggerated actions you'd encounter in, say, shounen, and there's focus on relationships, some of which are implied. On other hand it also means that heroine is likely to be shy, act reserved, be somewhat awkward in social situations, get embarassed often and might be wearing glasses. Oh, and there will be a lot of beautiful read more

I'm dropping this after 5 episodes.

The thing is, it is supposed to be a comedy. However, it tries too hard to do some sort of deadpan humor, so instead of comedy, it looks like a straight story of some random unlucky guy being dragged through more and more unpleasant experiences for not much of a reason. And watching that isn't fun, and, frankly, reminds me of stuff like Inuyashiki's "bang" scenes.

3/10 story, 6/10 art, 5/10 sound, 3/10 characters, 3/10 enjoyment, 3/10 overall.

Story is of diabolus ex machina type, where more and more things pile up on the main character and put him into more and read more

It is best described as wasted potential.

I loved the first half of the first episode. For a couple of minutes it felt as if I'm in for a treat - a slightly mysterious wise slice of life anime in a magical world, different from the usual isekai tropes. There was a feeling that something utterly amazing is about to happen, perhaps on miyazaki level.

Then they added one more character, and everything instantly fell apart.

The source material this anime is based on is quite weak, and while initial episode gave impression that they might be able to turn it into somethin amazing, that didn't happen.

Imagine a story of war written by.... Zerg. Or Tyranids. Or xenomorph. That's the core idea of this book. Sounds good, right?

Unfortunately, the book is fairly weakly written. It is a "light noveL', so it is very light reading, and if you used to read normal literature it doesn't compare to, say "Call me Joe" by Paul Anderson, not to mention heavy artillery like "Dragon's Egg", etc. If we're talking about actual light novel, then the quality is worse than that of Ovelord "Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken" or chinese novels like Lord of Mysteries or Legendary Mechanic.

It is a fairly mediocre isekai manga that bears strong resemblance to "Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni" (In Another World With My Smartphone).

What does it mean?
Well, we have RIDICULOUSLY overpowered protagonist, with typical righteous shounen behavior, who was reborn in a fantasy world....

What does set this particular "isekai" apart?

Well, protagonist is a kid. That means there are some cutesy visuals, but not on the level of, say.... "Tensei Shitara dai Nana Ouji dattanode"
It is also not really fanservice oriented, as far as I remember. There are hints of future harem, but it is still sort of adventure in the end.
The main character doesn't really read more

Unbelievably, this is much better than first 12 episodes of the second season. That's despite being a spinoff.

The original series suffered from pacing problems - due to being constrained by the source material, they tried too hard to stretch the material into the format, and result was quite disappointing.

Here... the writers took the characters and made a nice, relaxing, and, importantly FUNNY slice of life with them. Everybody's personalities are already known, so they just clash them together and the result is very enjoyable.

It is fun, characters are lively and interesting, despite having a "role" to stick to, and it is entertaining, despite using read more
