The movie was previewed at a screening at AniFest in Torrance, California on March 23, 2019. Regular screening will begin on March 29, 2019.
I liked how to revealed more of Lilith's backstory and whats going to happen next in trinity seven but, for the first half of the movie it felt pretty rushed imo. When it got to around the second half it slowed down a bit and was more enjoyable.
I didn't dislike nor love the art it was about the same as the anime in my eyes.
I cant say much as at the Anifest showing it was at a small room, and i was sitting in front of the speakers.
The antagonist character for the movie seems pretty sudden with no
backstory or not a lot leading up to him. It seemed pretty sudden when he introduced who he was but made a good surprised while being confused.
It was fun seeing arata back again with his good taste and comedy and some nice fan service scenes.
Story 7/10:I haven't read the manga/light novels if there is any(sorry to any people if that disappoints you)so I do not know if this is in the line with it, but it is almost the exact same as the first movie, but the antagonist from the first movie had a bit of a back story while the second had none.
Ar t8/10: Overall I saw no problems with the art but it wasn't a film focused on the animation and overall art of it.
Sound 9/10: No problems with sound, it was great with no difficulties or mishaps.
Character 5/10: The only
new character brought in was the main antagonist, the Crimson Demon Lord, who we learn is supposed to destroy Arata's world and yadayada. Has no back story and relation to only one of the characters in the film. Arata is beyond broken btw. This man just gets stronger and stronger the longer the movie goes on.
Enjoyment 9/10:I really enjoy this series so I may be a bit bias, but I liked the new movie, I just wish it was longer than an hour.
A few weeks ago, my friend from class told me he wanted to go see this movie. Knowing nothing of the series we decided to watch it in theaters the day of its release. Having seen movies like ordinal scale and made in abyss in theaters, I expected a lot, because I'd imagine paying any amount of money to see an anime once for an hour, it should be pretty great. It wasn't, the entire plot felt rushed, had no idea what was going on half the time. The production values seem like they were spent on one ecchi scene, and
one fight scene. I completely understand fans of the show will enjoy seeing new content or whatever, but as an outsider to the series, I was baffled that they would expect me to enjoy watching this.
I've already read the manga so I knew what was going to happen, it's ashame because I was hoping that they would've done the introduction to the new villain better in the manga and anime, but hey atleast it exists and it's not THAT BAD.
I hope they continue the manga though, it's kind of on a halt for translation which sucks.
Personally, I would've rathered to have seen Astral Trinity v Abyss Trinity, but hey it's a bit too late for that I guess, but it's good eitherway. Should be longer though, not just an hour long.
I'd recommend it, but just watch all of it in
order, otherwise yer gonna get very, very confused
