Violet Evergarden: Kitto "Ai" wo Shiru Hi ga Kuru no Darou

The CH Postal Company has just received a request to transcribe a love letter from Irma Felice, a famous opera singer. Accepting the task, Violet Evergarden visits Irma to write her letter. However, not only does Irma provide little information, she asks Violet to write based on her own feelings. Despite Violet's numerous attempts, Irma finds every version of the letter inadequate.

Violet consults her colleagues, and they help her out by writing love letters of their own. Yet even those are rejected by the opera singer. As a last resort, Violet asks Irma for her true thoughts and feelings, hoping to find the missing puzzle piece. Will the Auto Memory Doll be able to translate Irma's emotions into words?

Alright, this episode was pretty good. I really wish we get to see more of these. Please more Violet Evergarden specials! I beg!

The Story: If you saw some of the episodes focused on clients in the main show, this one is a lot like it. This client is about love song lyrics for her play. This task is actually quite difficult for Violet. No spoilers, but it was good. The ending was satisfying. There was even some character development in this one as well. I liked it!

The Animation: Holy the animation is beautiful. Easy 10/10.

The characters: I learn more about Violet and her client as ... well. It was all explained well and was flowing nicely as well.

The Setting: I also learn more about the war, the setting, and the background information. It was all really helpful.

Why you should watch it: IF you watched Violet Evergarden, this one is a no-brainer. I normally am not a fan of specials/OVAs, but this one is a special case. This one was nice.

Score: 8/10 amazing

Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece. Overall, Violet Evergarden captures human emotion so brilliantly with a simple concept that some things are better expressed in the written form of letters. This OVA is so well done, be sure to watch the OVA episode between episodes 4 and 5, or it will seem like Violet has grown a ton with little context. The OVA demonstrates how deep down, Violet does have the answers to her burning questions, as she is able to produce such a stunning "letter". And it puts a lot into context, really her journey is coming to the personal realization that what she's feeling ... is real and true, and is the answer she's been searching for.

Mixed Feelings

A solid episode not as interesting as some of the show's episodes but was still worth the watch. Decent writing, great directing, and some good emphasis on themes and meanings. Similar formula to pretty much any other episode in Violet Evergarden. And we some of the supporting characters again such as Claudia.

The artwork was fantastic as always with tons of scenes that could be wallpapers, the music was beautiful with great singing. And the voice acting is superb with the same actors from the series.

You should watch it if you enjoyed the show consistently otherwise you can skip it since it doesn't go over ... anything too much.
