Galaxy Frauline Yuna is an adaption of a video game, I believe of the same name. It's strictly for people who like 90's anime, because it is very much a product of the period in which it was produced- if that makes sense. It's an overly sweet story about a remarkably sweet girl and her very sweet friends who save the universe a number of times with their mechanical armour, giant robots, and space ships. Theres also karaoke, a lesson in how to make the perfect fried egg, and teen idols. But despite appearances, there is a little bit of shojo ai so it's not read more

Ginga Ojou-sama Densetsu Yuna was created in 1992 as a video game created and written by Mika Akitata and released by Hudson. The first titles were released for the PC Engine, known in America as the TurboGrafx. The game franchise also saw installments on the Sega Saturn, Playstation and, mos recently, PSP. So, it was a moderately successful series even if it never got released outside of Japan, which it didn't as far as I can tell. The series got two OVAs based on it from Movic, J.C. Staff, King Records & Toho. The first was released in '95 and it's the one we're going read more

I just want to point out that this show is a continuation of a video game series which was never released outside of Japan, so there's a good chance you'll have no idea what is going on when you first watch it.

There's honestly not a lot to say about this series since it's only two episodes and doesn't have any strong character or story development. If you love the early 90's aesthetic, then you'll enjoy it purely for that reason.

The series is similar to other early 90's magical girl series like Magic Knight Rayearth and Metal Fighter Miku.

If I had only 60 minutes to show someone what your basic anime from the early to mid nineties was like I think this two episode OVA would work. The silly character tropes, the cool mechanical designs, jazzy and pop soundtrack, sweet battle animations, it's all there in some form or another.

If seeing a white ADV films VHS tape doesn't fill you with nostalgia you might not get much out of this. I've been going back and tracking down all those old series I saw previews for way back when. At the time I either didn't have the money or just couldn't read more
