New Interest Stack
Interest StacksThis is just a list of anime that I felt had shoujo vibes but didn't have the shoujo tag. A lot of them are anime with shoujo tropes or just strike me as being aimed at a female audience (or they just have hot boys; don't judge me). I've not included josei or boy's love anime since they are already highly associated with shoujo anime. All animes on this stack were writter and/or illustrated by a woman on the original work (manga/light novel/web manga/etc.). Let's give more credits and support to works made by women! Self contained or yet to be continued short anime. Most are just easy to watch in a day may not be objectively the best. Definitely some hidden gems. A lot of these will be short rom coms or one off isekai's but there are a few different genres too. I have tried to not add any with confirmed second seasons. Some of these series have films but if you count a film as three episodes then they should still be less then 20 eps, similarly for OVAs. Anime that have Japanese honorifics in the main title. These are some animes that I have watched and that I liked and enjoyed. There are still plenty good animes that I haven't check out yet. Hopefully I'll do so before I die. This Interest Stack is directly inspired by Digibro's "250 Anime Recommendations". Everything listed here is directly taken from the original video. An assorted stack of anime series with educational themes that teach you something specific. The learning subjects include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Space Science, Mathematics, DIY, Camping, Survival, Performing Arts, Anime and Manga industries, History, Geography, Economics, Food and Beverages, and many more. Anime with asexual (ace) and/or aromantic (aro) characters. Most are headcanons. The Arts are made up of three types: Performing Arts (Music, Dance, Theater, Cosplaying, Acting, etc.), Visual Arts (Painting, Drawing, Film Making, Animation, Video Game Creation, Photography, etc.) and Literary Arts (Novel/Light Novel Writing, Manga/Doujin Writing, Lyric Writing, Journalism, Magazines, Editing, Dictionary Writing, Ghost Writing, etc.). While Performing Arts and Visual Arts have tags on MyAnimeList, Literary Arts do not, so this interest stack is rectifying that. Literary Arts have a long history with anime like the other two art forms, so this includes a wide variety of them. It may also include some that are about being passionate for literature rather than writing itself. Some series are excluded if they lean more towards Performing Arts or Visual Arts than Literary Arts, such as Kodocha, Saekano or The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. While some series may have major characters who are novelists, it needs to have Literary Arts be an important aspect of the plot in order for it to be included. Also, there will only be one series per franchise for the sake of variety. The theme of this stack is romantic shows with a lot of romantic pairings and couples. Not just main and beta couples, but where different couples with very different dynamics make up the majority of the cast. Accordingly, only open and canonical romance/feelings, no shipping folder anime. |
