New Interest Stack
Interest Stackslist of anime girls who are otakus that enjoy manga, anime, novels and video games. Anime that is light-hearted in nature. The plot is not intense and there is limited continuity. There is an ensemble cast of funny characters. These animes can cheer you up and give you a good laugh. They are unique and interesting. This stack is dedicated to shows that are either inspired by Takarazuka or directly dedicated to it. Takarazuka is an iconic Japanese all-female theater group from the city of the same name, that is widely known for their authentic musicals, homoerotic reputation and huge influence on Japanese women's culture. In most cases, it is either about the characteristic prince-ish girls "ottokoyaku" (of a certain aesthetic, not just androgynous ikemen onna), the so-called "Takarazuka couples" (a romantic or homoerotic pair of female characters inspired by ottokoyaku and musumeyakku), and various theatrical aesthetics, but there may also be direct quotation and demonstration of the troupe's activities. Not all romance, but most of the notable series. This list is my second list. The Bechdel test is an informal, basic measure of positive/accurate female representation in media. The 3 conditions required to be met to pass the test are (1) that at least 2 female characters appear in the media, (2), these characters have a conversation or interaction and (3), that the conversation/interaction is NOT about a man or their love/sex life. Slice Of Life, Iyashikei, Feels Good etc anime. I enjoy watching typical shounen, so SOLs are usually my go-to to "decompress" myself after coming out of those heavy plotted shows. Hence, light bites shows, or sometimes, filler animes to watch and relax before going into the next heavy plotted show. But, they are not only filler animes, I do like SOLs as a genre on its own to watch when I am feeling stressed too. Slice of life anime has been quite influential on many different genres. Here are a few of the many non-slice of life anime with a similar feel to slice of life. You know those episode discussions where you rate a single episode. Well, I got the results of those polls and found anime with high average episode discussion scores. So, these anime should be an consistent enjoyable experience. LGBTQ+ characters outside of boy's love or girl's love anime. I know there are more (Sailor Moon, Banana Fish, etc.), but I was just pulling from shows I've watched. I tried to avoid headcanons. |
