Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. Specials

The conflict between the ending the author foresees, and the ending that the viewer want is prone to be controversial. At times, the author's judgment is the 'best' judgment, resulting in an unexpected, albeit enjoyable ending. At others, the other's author's mildly delusional. This case isn't either of those -- the author had a clear purpose with what he wanted to illustrate, but it was done in a way that stimulated the unanimous ire of every other viewer.

I don't think most people watch OreImo for the storyline. They watch it for the fun interactions. When you bereave those interactions, and create three episodes of ... explosive drama, resulting the tears, curses, and condemnations from each respective side heroine [who were previously endeared], it's a little hard to watch. The primary strength of OreImo was the interactions -- these OVAs didn't have a lot of that. There were three eminent heroines presented, each lovable [arguably], and each, with their strengths. The ending is as ambiguous so as much to suggest that there was no actual 'fulfilling' conclusion. If the message were to remain rotary to 'the hardships of love', and 'sacrifice', then the message may have gotten across. But in doing so, the series disassociated itself from its fun interactions, its lovable moments, and its memorable, recurrent lapses of ridiculous cuteness. The opportunity cost for such an ending was far too high.

However, the faults of the anime adaptation were hardly the fault of the production. The author wrote, and the studio respected his decision. It was a faithful, albeit not entirely enjoyable adaptation. Of course, the studio could have easily have went the original route -- three episodes could have presented an alternate ending for each respective heroine. It may have even sold better. But, they decided to respect the artistic vision of the author. That's hardly something to condemn. It may not be affable, but it's not terrible.

The quality of the art and animation remained consistent with the main series. It was good. The soundtrack was appropriate, but the ending themes were especially memorable. The characters are consistent, but their reactions may be a little dubious. It wasn't very enjoyable. I don't like seeing tears. I'm all for the ending that the characters want, but when each character gives off the aura of being discontented, then it's a little to ascribe the series with the title of having a 'logical' ending, over it having the 'bad' one.

So close...
OreImo seasons 1 and 2 were both very captivating and interesting. 98% of the specials were good as well, creating a more closed feeling for the relationships between characters than the shows did. Character development was slightly lacking, though this stems mainly from time constraints and a lot of info from the light novels being dropped. All in all this show had me captivated through almost every moment. The show loses so much and get a much lower score than it should mainly from the ending particularly the last episode of the special. Trying to keep this section spoiler free, i will be as ... general as possible, though i will go into more depth in a section containing spoilers. some of the main scenes in the endings seemed very rushed and abrupt, albeit they had to cut quite a bit from the light novels. Some characters opinions and personalities are impacted greatly by these absences of plot and make the ending confusing and tends to break the immersion that is created by the previous episodes.
To go more in depth, i will now start the spoiler section now.

First off, the sudden and almost evil change of character of Manami during the confrontation between her, Kirino, and Kyousuke about the brother and sister's incestuous relationship. While i understand that somethings need to be cut in order to make the anime fit the time constraints, through out the entirety of this anime there is zero signs of Manami knowing of kirino's love for her brother or any problem with said love up until this very scene. If they would have just included one or two scenes of Manami's knowledge in any earlier point, then the feeling of Manami's hatred wouldn't have felt so randomly placed and abrupt in the scene. Every time the two females are together, it almost always consisted of Manami attempting to be nice to Kirino. Side note: If you didn't see the relationship between the brother and sister duo coming even in the slightest, the only explanation for that other than general stupidity is that you charged head first into this show, doing absolutely no research, and blindly picking this show to watch solely off of the cover art. If you even spent a few seconds to research the full name of the show, you would realize the inevitable incest behind the name "My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute". Saying that, if the slight incest in this section of the show disturbs you enough that you no longer like the anime, then you obliviously have not been paying attention to the rest of the show and can't pick up on the obvious hints that it puts out for you. Back to the main topic. The top reason why even though most of the show was good, this part got such a low rating from me, is because of the wedding the scene. The scene was perfect. They love each other, enough to go to extreme measures to make a mock wedding for themselves just to show there love. They lean in and kiss, then separate and look at each other lovingly, the moment feels wonderful and happy. Stop. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. If the story would have ended right there, this would have been at least a 9/10 in rating for this show, but instead the creators could not handle the ending being incestuous and had to cop out and change it to a more "politically correct" ending. The way this ended, it not only made me mad, but also left a bad taste in my mouth that soiled the entirety of this anime for me. Once they were dating, it was to late to try and take it back. Also by having the idea of the planned break up is positively mental. By having Kyousuke reject all of those relationships, it pretty much ruined his chances at any of those relationships later on, not to mention that most would have lasted longer than the few weeks the sibling's relationship allowed under the time limit.

All in all, this would have been one of my top anime if not for the chicken shit excuse of an ending that it had. Do yourself a favor and as soon as Kirino and Kyousuke's kiss breaks, stop and do not watch any further.

An end to a wonderful piece, which left many matters settled and and final shock and awe for the viewers. Watching a series with the following title, there could honestly be only be a few expectation where the path would go.

The story finally breaks down, showing an unbelievable amount of development amongst the characters, displaying the growing pains of adolescence, the inability to close with ones feelings and emotions, and the numerous unrequited loves. Kyousuke takes all these girls for a ride, while being a regular joe .
Kyousuke whom in my ... my belief makes the largest changes as a brother. After his long cold war with his sister, he finds himself assuming the role of a full fledged elder brother, maybe not to all standards of reality but to the realm of anime. This "cold war" can be said to be the reason why he's able to establish a more loving relationship with his sister. Establishing an unprecedented relationship as if meeting someone for the first time, mixing and churning emotions that should never be developed.
The closing, which is the major dislike for the end of the series leaves a strange love up in the air, only letting the viewers wonder what they'll talk about, if they'll continue this somewhat twisted story, sadly only to our imaginations. Despite this end, I found it fulfilling with a bittersweet goodbye to a series.

Ore no Imouto displayed a visual eye candy that I enjoyed from the very beginning, providing textures pleasing to they eye, which is something I would normally expect Aniplex,

If there's something I enjoy in any series, its wonderful voice acting and the numerous songs sung by them, providing an additional outlook on the characters feelings, emotions, which can't simply be provided from the story.

Overall, I found this series to be a wonderful touch, despite the taboo/incest which I of course frown about myself, to be something of a short love story between a brother, who confused becoming an older figure, to falling for someone he didn't know.

I found my heart racing through all the confessions, hating Kyousuke for leaving each girl in the dust, but also understanding that he can only end up with one girl. If you can ever find a series that leaves your heart racing, only yearning for more, I believe its a win in my book.

I give this series an overall 8/10.

The right thing can be said to be the best thing but in this case, it obviously was the wrong thing to do. By any means, the fans that has made their way to this special is more than prepared to accept the incest route. After all, the title gives it away immediately. Why did Kyousuke and Kirino have to part? Was it for the morality of incest being wrong? Like I said before, a majority of us by this time actually supports it especially in a fictional sense. So what did the author do. Get them together and then painfully ... tear them apart.

Like many others, I was also prepared to rate this highly and always remember this series somewhere in my heart, yet by the end, I felt betrayed by the outcome of this series.
The story handled all the other love potential greatly, Kyousuke met up with them one by one and told them how he felt. The story though totally took a nosedive when they ended things in the church. It felt like all the things that happened in this series was thrown and burned as it had basically no consequences. Kyousuke was able to decline all the others confession showed great determination that could well be used to stay strong against society. But he let that to be used on a promise that constraints his heart forever.

I honestly can't imagine Kirino or Kyousuke being truly happy if they aren't together as lovers. Heck, Kyousuke even had to sneak a kiss after they decided to end things. I wanted Kyousuke to tell her that he changed his mind. Like how they would walk their separate paths after leaving the church. I wanted Kyousuke to think of all the times he had spent with Kirino and give in to his desire of wanting to be with her despite being her brother. To run, to crash to others while yelling out Kirino's name. As she turns around, hugging her while shouldering the emotional conflict against society. To kiss her and to end it there. They don't have to tell us what happens next on how the others would see them. I just truly wanted them to be together by the end.

This series was quite the emotional ride to be honest. I really felt the conflict between the chosen girl and the others like Manami. Seeing some of them cry was rather emotional and seeing Kyousuke's unwavering will that would easily scream out his love for his little sister was just as good. It even brought forth of how others would see the relationship as "disgusting" and other negative ways. Still, Kyousuke was prepared to lose everything to protect that one thing yet he gives it up at the end. Both ways would have ended up hurting Kirino even if they chose to be together. Kyousuke and Kirino deciding to part ways and it actually happening was beyond heartbreaking and tear wrenching.

Can I say that I really love this series yet hate it immensely at the same time? Though the feelings it brought will never be forgotten.

The Oreimo series has finally reached its end mark, and the journey to get there was quite a peculiar one. For many fans of the Oreimo series, these specials mark the ending of this series through three episodes. In these episodes, we get to witness the decisions that Kyousuke makes towards the many girls in his harem. In these events, the girls give out their confessions to Kyousuke, then he rejects them until he reaches the one true girl. These events would bring many kinds of feelings towards viewers, some may feel pain, anger, or even happy when they see that their favorite girl has ... been rejected or if they won. While some viewers may even feel shock by some of the reactions from the girls.

Aniplex manages to stay consistent with its art throughout these specials, it's still the same from what you recognize in season 2. But with it, they manage to make the many scenes that you'll see in these specials heartwarming, humorous, and even downright menacing. With that, these specials are displayed in a way that you've come to recognize, but some events may surprise you. To assist with that, we have many of the tracks from the second season to help add more emotion through out these final episodes. As you're watching the episodes, you'll come to recognize many of these songs, as they make events such as the finale very heartwarming, and other events very dramatic, and many of the seiyuu that you've come to know and love/hate bring out forth their emotion to help drive these scenes forward.

All the characters that you've come to know and love (or possibly hate) have return to make their final debuts, with the addition of some supporting characters you might not have seen in a while. They help to move the story forward as we reach the final events, and find out which girl has won Kyousuke's heart. Some characters even bring out a side of them that you may have not even seen before, which could some surprise some watchers, but others may have come to expect it. A notable character you would keep your eye on during these specials would have to be Kyousuke, as you observe the choices he makes during these final episodes, you may come to wonder why he made those choices, and this could bring out a huge mix of feelings towards many. But what I know is that after viewing these specials, you'll probably remember Kyousuke as an iconic protagonist, or probably even just a plain idiot.

From my perspective of watching these specials, and the series as a whole, it left me with a lot of mixed feelings. In whole, I enjoyed the series for its otaku nature, and how it was a story of how an older brother helps his litte sister with her eroge obsession, and then later come to be open about it to her friends and other people. As the second season arrived, it became a story of who will conquer the protagonist's heart, and as the series headed towards that direction, my opinions of it were all over the place. I would've scored this series higher, but the ways that the events were enacted left me with a bitter after taste. But when you watch these final episodes, you may have different opinions of how the finale is executed, so I do advise that you watch them. But as for me, this was a pretty odd journey, I enjoyed it somewhat, and I will miss this series, so I present it with a "7", hope you liked the review!

Usually, i hate the incestuous themes that are inserted in anime (see Sword Art Online's second half). Actually I really hate incestuous themes at all. But my opinion about it somehow changed and I now know what I really hate about this kind of anime. It is the ultra-clingy imotuo. I can't stand them at all.

As a result, I really liked OreImo.

Story - 9
These specials serve as the ending of the series. Some might say that the revelations were done hastily but in my opinion, its pace was just right. The story really becomes interesting 10-fold per episode (ok, a little exaggeration on that statement).

Art ... - 9
The characters are well drawn and at par with the currently airing anime. The background was also well drawn and did not look like half-baked.

Sound - 8
The OP and ED are pleasant to the ears and that Meruru theme song was just so addicting! On the BGM side, it was like as if you were playing a real visual novel. That idea made me laugh inside a few times. It's really enjoyable.

Characters - 10
Every member of Kyousuke's harem have their special traits that will make the audience love them. But dont get the idea that these episodes are all about Kyou's girls. I just like mention "Kyousuke's harem" (lol).

Enjoyment - 10
I recommend this (the whole OreImo series) to those who want a good laugh and maybe cry a little inside at times.

Note that these specials are the only ones that I gave a perfect score because I liked the climax and the resolution in the end. :)

This is a giant conspiracy.

When looked at on the surface all of the other reviews are on how this series was very funny and enjoyable then took a turn for the worst during the OVA's. Ending in an absolutely dissatisfying taste towards fans of any of the vibrant characters within the show, this ending crushed any hope of a happy ending and even dashes the hope of what the OVA's OTP is all about by just cutting off romantic ties between the two siblings entirely by the end. But after long consideration, I realized this was completely intentional.

Lets start small with a clue. The main ... character (Kirino) obsession is over little sister video dating games. If the anime about dating your little sister were to become a game, like in the show, it would be among fans of the show that would buy it.

The the main guy blows off (4) 5 confessions the be with his sister for only a short amount of time when he knew it would end and asked his sister to marry him which doesn't make sense when for the whole show it shows how annoyed gets with her and lets not forget, the first thing Kirino did after she agreed to marry him was play more eroge (dating game), that just seems to unreal as a plot for this to be canon. I tend to see how the show ended where it did apart from the bonus episodes to draw a specific line that is visible if you think about it. Another of these subtle hints was from the episode where Kirino made an anime and talked about how companies make changes to writing to invoke something specific from their viewers.In this case the entire reason they made these last 3 episodes as upsetting as possible was for one reason

MAIN POINT

They made this ending so bad, fans would buy their own "date my little sisters game" to get the ending that they felt was most fitting to replace the bad ending.

That's it, the anime was too well written to be butchered like that in the end and this was the reason why, to promote the game.

Think about a dating game and its multiple paths, Kyosuke chose the little sister for no reason, and got the good/bad end and that was that, all girls could have been chosen, but rejected when he had a fair interest in most of them, certainly over his sister. that was to make you wanna choose for him in his position.

It was a great show that got sold out to anime companies for a profit, thats all folks.

Bueno, enough of that, time to make my review of this ONA's special sequel of "Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai 2." So, what we have here is a special that composes the parent anime's episodes 14, 15 and 16, so I'm not gonna beat around the bush, here are my rating for each of this ONA's category:

Story, Character and Enjoyment: Very Good 8

Story:

First of all, what made me give this part a such rating was because of the seriousness of the plot, were the incestuous relationship deepening between Kyousuke and Kirino, it was sweet, ... thought it kinda promotes a cardinal sin of 2 people in love are related by blood. But, let's say that the 2 aren't related and either one is adopted such sin wouldn't be that intense. However, as one watches the whole anime and read the manga, you would forget the sin and focus on Kirino's tsundere attitude and Kyousuke's masochistic approach, there is of course the thing where we audience whom we wish to be Kyousue's love interest, but never materialize.


Character:

Here's the thing, the rating ifs for the girls who have declared their love for Kyousuke, but got rejected especially for Minami , I gave them this category such rating co'z of my sympathy for them. however, I kinda hate it that in episode 14, Kyousuke dumped Ruri, if I remember it right, it was Ruri who dump him in episode 9, for some reason that she's following some kind of guide.It looks like writer Hideyuki Kurata has decided to make the Ruri X Kyousuke breakup a bit conflicting, for what reasons, we'll never know. To me, I really wanted a Minami X Kyousuke arc however it seems that studio A-1 pictures limits her roles that feel bad her role and character, and for her to be rejected by the guy and be mock by the sister is like putting salt to the wound.

Enjoyment:

It was enjoyable, especially about the mock wedding that the two did in the last part of episode 16 and that all I can say....btw, I did like the cat fight that occurred between Minami and Kirino, Man, I'd wish that Kirino got pounded to the ground and Kyousuke gets his balls whack by Minami after she gets rejected by he stupid guy.

It was good alright, but one can't ignore the conflicting break up of Ruri and Kyousuke, studio A-1 pictures should have used a Saori X Kyousuke reject arc instead of making an alternate break up arc the 2 fore mentioned character's, it would have added a nicer touched. Also, who can forget Kirino's bitchy attitude towards the male character, I mean, don't we audience wanted someone else for the guy? Then again, seeing as how things we about in the last episode of the parent anime's season 2 made us change our sight on Kirino, so overall the ending of this "OreImo" thing is good and that as good as it gets.

Keep in mind that the Original Author of the Light-Novel this series was based off originally wanted a full blown (W)incest relationship between Kirino and Kyousuke, but the publishers denied him that right fearing societal backlash and he had to write a "As Happy as possible" ending for their ... relationship. That in mind the anime chose to follow the Novels ending instead of what the author originally wanted and decided to keep the ending the same, instead of diverging it.


For those masochists out there that are perfectly fine with having their imaginations and overall enjoyment of a series absolutely obliterated with OVA's, sure, go ahead and watch these treacherous defilement's of what was legitimately a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 anime.

For those who are sane enough, happy enough leaving off on a good-point, or don't want their overall enjoyment of the anime ruined with late-entry OVA's that tacked on a closed-ending that literally undoes most of what the anime itself has been trying to do for the past... entire series... Don't bother.
Leave it off at episode 13. It was the original ending for the anime and was open-ended and which was actually a very proper, well-received, and well done story ending. They only tacked on the Novel/Do-What-Society-Wants-You-to ending (that the original author didn't actually want) with these OVAs and ultimately raised your hopes/enjoyment and then smashed them into dust.

If you are brave, or want to see an ending to the series that supports the Incest relationship between Kirino and Kyousuke that the entire series has been not-so-subtlety setting up, watch Episode 14/OVA 1 and Episode 15/OVA2 and you will be left hanging on a dramatically enjoyable experience that will leave you shocked and enthusiastic for the Pairing similar too "I'm so happy for them" ending.

The end of Episode 16/OVA3 after they prove their love for one-another, starts unraveling the entire series and turns it into a 5 or 6 out of 10(if even that high) instead of a 7-8/10. Simply because it has such a hardcore profound impact that ruins the entire experience of what you may or may not have expected of their Brother-Sister relationship.

Now time to rate the individual aspects:

Story 3/10: I would rate Episode 14/15(OVA1/2) a solid 8.5/10. Because they reaffirm the groundwork the series has been laying for a romantic relationship between Kirino and Kyousuke, and take it to "Screw Society, We're Happy!" levels. Going sofar as to show support and happiness for their relationship from most of their close friends. Even spurring it on because they see that they have a truly romantic bond ever since they met them.

However, if you include Episode 16 into the mix... You should take it with not just a grain of salt, but instead the utmost precaution and carry a 40kg bag of road salt. Episode 16(OVA3) continues the trend that Episode 14/15(OVA1/2) started. It escalates to a point of pure happiness for them as they reaffirm their love for one-another through various acts. Then it starts derailing the literal second they finish the latter. Avoid at all costs. Avoiding the consequences of Episode 16 ending leaves the group at a 9/10. If you continue, prepare for the entire series to plummet to a 5-6/10 as the plot foreshadowing throughout the entire anime is thrown away for "Societal Standards" via the publishing companies.

Art 6/10: Nothing special. Is what you expect from the series sofar. Nothing terrible and nothing great, albeit the series as a whole shies away from blood as pointed out roughly halfway through Episode 16(OVA3).

I didn't even notice it up until this point, which isn't half bad. But the story ended so poorly with Episode 16's ending that it immediately became prevalent in the noticeable flaws when the abundance of not-so-well-intentioned violence by some characters is considered. Episode 16 of course, finds another way to ruin the anime.

Sound 6/10: Nothing fantastic nor bad.

Character 5/10: The characters themselves up until Episode 16/OVA3 are solid and well done. Kirino and Kyousuke are well done and their love-to-hate bond that turns romantic is fantastically within character.

They have been abrasive to one-another and jealously guarded eachother throughout the series from potential rivals, which is solidly done and adds quite a few plot twists to both them and the other characters.
Then however, Episode 16 suddenly had them invert their personalities and instead of fighting for what they believed in, of which most of the second half of Season 2 along with most of Season 2's OVA's(All 3 of them up until the ending of Episode 16) was about their unquestionably budding romantic relationship, and the open happiness between them about it. They never question their relationship whatsoever, and are both very happy to have fallen in love with eachother. Then Episode 16 suddenly says "They gave up in Episode 15 an hour after they started being romantically involved with eachother, but prolonged the relationship to build memories."

The ending monologue even stamps out any hope by long-windily saying "We were immeasurably happy, we had an amazing time, we don't regret it... That's why I had to end it."

This can easily be avoided by not watching the last part of Episode 16, as everything else in the anime still makes sense. Episodes 14/15(OVA1/2) are done in such a way that you can easily not watch the Episode 16 ending and have a completely different experience in which they accept eachother as romantic partners.

Otherwise Episode 16's ending turns his ecstatic joy and her "planning ahead" into a mouthful of road salt as they fall so distantly out of their character and are openly ready to abandon their romantic lives for no viable reason, after they've been secretly vying for it for 2 just over 2 years in series and are legitimately both extremely happy about finally getting there.

Enjoyment 2/10: Self explanatory by this point in the review.

Overall: If it wasn't for Episode 16's absolutely uncalled for ending that had them suddenly stop everything they felt for one-another for no actual, viable, or believable reason... This would be a 8.5 or even a 9/10 ending for the anime.

Episode 16's tomfoolery ultimately brought it down to a 3/10 for these OVAs. But the series itself without the OVAs was open-minded and left the ending to the viewer to decide where it went (Quality ending), and remains a solid 7-8/10.

As a enthusiast of the Oreimo franchise, I expected great things from the OVA meant to conclude the story built up by the two previous seasons. Long story short, both the Oreimo fanbase and I were disappointed with the turn of events that were meant to wrap up a memorable series.

Story - 5

As a series aimed to critique and evaluate sibling love, it is no surprise that the series tries to deviate from your typical romantic comedy. If you have been following Oreimo since season one, its theme of forbidden love should be familiar. Despite the awkward premise, the first two seasons ... expertly set up the unique plot line and simply made it work. However, by the OVA, its engaging story telling seemed to have all but run out of steam. Perhaps it was because Aniplex tried to end the series in a meager 3 episode release, but the story felt extremely forced and rushed. Minimal effort was put into the multiple confessions, and strong emotional build-up seemed to be non-existent. The confessions seemed too artificial to have any hint of a emotional implication upon the audience. Although the producers tried their best to remain truthful to the original light novel series, the set up lacked realism (even in the sense of anime) and ultimately made for what seemed like a clumsy attempt to end the series and earn a quick buck.

Character - 6

The first two seasons of Oreimo established memorable character archetypes that each added to the series in their own ways. Although still persistent in the OVA, the distinct lines set up by the first to seasons are blurred, and the actions of characters are dictated by the ease of plot, rather than aligning to their personalities. The most notable example would be the quarrel between Kirino and Tamaki, where the audience is treated with a Tamaki that very much goes against her average friendly demeanour. Some may argue that it is her inner self surfacing, but I simply find it a pathetic way to drive the plot. Her character completes a 180, which is not even hinted in the first two seasons, making it erratic and hard to swallow. Even well developed characters such as Kyousuke and Kuroneko undergo sudden changes with their personality that seem out of place (albeit to a lesser extent).


One of my major beefs with this anime is the voice acting. I'm not pointing fingers at the VAs, as they performed brilliantly in the two seasons, but rather at the directors and producers. In exception to Taketatsu, who portrayed Kirino much to the professionalism of the first two seasons, the voice acting seemed to forced and tried to force emotions into the audience that simply were not there. The dialogue that was meant to display deep feelings only left me confused and awkward, as if I've just watched a low budget 1980s love film.

Art and sound - 9

What seemed the most average in the first two seasons turned out to be one of the redeeming factors of this OVA. The opening and ending themes remained true to the second season, and the music served to strongly supplement, if not overshadow, the ridiculous attempt to portray emotion in much of the three episodes. Similarly, the high quality art that remained unchanged greatly pleased my visual senses. Props to Motoyama for giving the OVA a slight emotional touch, saving the OVA from becoming something similar to what would happen if Rei from evangalion and Nagato from Haruhi decided to stage a last minute comedy show.

In all seriousness, I truly believe that this OVA deserves a 6. But that would not serve the series justice as it had an amazing start for such a difficult premise to pull off. Also, considering its difficult premise, the fact that they didn't completely butcher the ending should also deserve some praise. All in all, Oreimo makes for an interesting plot and enjoyable anime to watch, but the poor execution of the ending, along with the difficulties behind ending such a series result in an OVA built on mediocrity.

Things fall apart.

Few endings have attracted more ire from fans than this one, and for good reason. Not only is the choice for Kirino and Kyousuke to form a couple utterly bewildering, but every other character in the series gets the short end of the stick to make it happen. Truthfully, the more I think about this ending the more things I find about it to hate. I hate the way Kanako’s feelings for Kyousuke were shoehorned in out of nowhere. I hate the way Manami is treated as the villain despite doing nothing wrong. I hate the apathetic manner that Kyousuke approaches the whole ... affair. And above all, I hate hate hate the way this ending will forever taint my positive memories of the rest of the series. Reading through my second Oreimo essay, it astonishes me that I was able to accept this and move on the first time I watched this show. How? How was I okay with this? How could anyone be okay with this? Imagine if, during the K-On! movie, the girls’ plane to London crashed and all of them died. That sounds horrible, doesn’t it? Well, that’s about how I feel about this ending. It’s completely out of place tonally, it’s poorly executed, and it forever haunts the series with this depressing spectre.

Now, for fairness sake, before I get too carried away with trashing the ending, I feel obligated to mention the relatively few things it actually does well. Episode fourteen’s confession scene was actually rather solid on an aesthetic level. If it didn’t come with all the baggage of incest and didn’t involve ruining no less than three girls’ hopes and dreams to make it happen, it might have even been a good scene. The way that Kyousuke tries to catch Kirino by running but ultimately fails to reach her is a nice way of hearkening back to an earlier scene showing that Kirino was inspired to take up running because she couldn’t catch up with Kyousuke many years prior. Likewise, the way Kyousuke ends up being assisted by Saori and Kuroneko really helps bring the narrative together in a neat way. I also particularly enjoyed Kyousuke’s line during his confession, “all love is gross, whether in eroge or in real life,” as it served as a surprisingly poignant way of rebutting Kirino’s constant proclamations of “gross!” over the course of the series. To sum up, the ending is bad not because of the way it is presented, but in spite of it. Most of the dialogue is good, everything is quite cinematic (in particular, the scene where Kyousuke forever rejects Kuroneko under the streetlamp has always stuck out to me), and production values maintain their quality from the rest of the show. The only problem is, well, the actual events that transpire.

Glad we got that cleared up. Now let’s talk about the bad.

The notion of incest was first noticeably implied around episode two or three of season two, and it only becomes more obvious from there. From this, it seems likely to me that this ending was not a sudden devilish idea upon the part of the writer, but rather a notion that he had been entertaining from early on. With this being as it may, it is astonishing to me that this ending is as messy as it is. Why does everyone confess to Kyousuke during the last five episodes if this was planned from the beginning? Why are so many characters hurt in the end? I simply don’t understand how he could let this happen. The rest of the series shows me that this man is clearly a fairly competent writer, so why? Did he do this as some kind of elaborate commentary on how normalizing incest eroge can lead to an anomie where people no longer see incest as a taboo? Almost certainly not. Will Kirino and Kyousuke’s love even last or is it merely some teenage fling that just happened to ruin the hopes and dreams of everyone around them? We can’t be sure. Ultimately, I don’t think we can ever know exactly what inspired the extraordinary lapse of reason that led to this ending. All we can do is wonder what happened?

I touched on this a bit before, but the worst thing about this ending (and this is a lofty distinction considering the boundless number of things that I hate about the way this show ends) is definitely how damned sad it is. No one ends up happy—not even Kyousuke and Kirino. After their cinematic kiss at the end of the final episode, we are led to believe that they don’t even stay with one another. Society will forever condemn their relationship, they ruined their friendships with several people to make it happen, and in the end they don’t even stay together! If that’s not the dreariest ending imaginable, I’m not sure what is… and they got the good end of the deal. As I have mentioned, Ayase, Kanako, and Kuroneko all have their hopes of love mercilessly shattered, but the truest loser here, I think, is Manami.

Good lord, I’m so sorry Manami. You didn’t deserve this. You didn’t deserve any of this. Not only is the scene that features her in the final episode the most painful in the entire series, it may very well be among the most painful scenes I have ever encountered in an anime. After confronting Kyousuke and Kirino about their relationship, she voices her disgust for what they are doing (a reasonable reaction to have, by all accounts) and then gets into a fistfight with Kirino. I’m not going to lie, I do like Kirino, but there was a real feeling of catharsis in seeing her punched mercilessly in the gut by Manami. Unfortunately, outside of the punch, nothing in this scene goes well for Manami in the slightest. She sustains substantial damage from Kirino herself, ultimately having her glasses broken. This leads to perhaps the eeriest part of the entire series for me. It is difficult for me to describe, but there is something deeply chilling about the way Manami looks without her glasses. The cute softness of her face is all but gone, and we are left with something harsh—almost scary. This is made all the more disturbing by what Manami says in this state: that Kyousuke and Kirino’s relationship can never survive, and more importantly that she has always loved Kyousuke. Kyousuke, of course, rejects her in an irritatingly bombastic fashion. Then, in return she says “that was the worst reply ever”— a line that would almost be funny if it weren’t so sad. In the end, while with Ayase, Kanako, and Kuroneko there was a definite sadness to their rejection, with Manami it’s outright depressing. I can’t help but think of how, after this scene ends, she will go home to realize that she has lost her best friend and love of ten years. And she lost him to his own sister—someone who he can never even stay with. All of this from a show that was once an upbeat comedy series.

I have rarely felt worse after watching an anime than after watching this scene. I felt empty and frantic and even a little bit nauseous. I wanted to bang my head against the wall until it gave way. I wanted to yell “FUCK YOU OREIMO!” at the top of my lungs. I wanted to run as fast as I could to nowhere in particular. Most of all, I wanted to purge this show from my mind, and perhaps from existence entirely. I am not an emotional man, but dear God, this scene—this ending broke me. I’ve heard that when it was first published, this ending caused such an outrage that many previous fans burned the entire series or sold it for almost nothing just to get it out of their possession, and I can see why. This may not be the worst ending ever, but it is certainly the most painful that I have seen. Between the way the harem elements were lazily shoehorned in, the way Kyousuke callously turns down the girls, and above all, the mean-spirited way that Manami is treated in her final scene—all in all, this is an ending that I will probably never forget. But for all the wrong reasons.

Let’s Talk About Incest!

One issue I have been skirting around in the discussion of this show’s ending is, of course, the incest. Now, I am not, on principle, against the use of consensual incest in fiction, but it has a very specific time and place where it is acceptable. Importantly, if a work is going to employ incest as a plot point (and if it wants to be taken seriously), it needs to a) treat the incest as an important plot element and b) treat the incest as a taboo. Neither of these things are really true of Oreimo. In fact, Oreimo’s ending treats incest in a shockingly irreverent fashion. This is particularly odd to me because the first season seemed quite self-aware and contained many jokes poking fun at the way incest is fetishized in modern otaku culture. One of its great strengths was the way it contrasted Kyousuke and Kirino’s growing platonic relationship with the sexual relationships in Kirino’s eroge. Yet, somehow the series ends with a complete reversal: an unequivocal embrace of incest. In a sense, this serves to cheapen the platonic relationship of the first season by suggesting that there was always a sexual element to Kyousuke and Kirino’s relationship. I can only ask: what happened? What was there to be gained by adding the incest element to this show? And if there was anything to be gained, why on earth was it executed so poorly?

To be fair to this show, not every element of the incest was poorly handled. The majority of the second season is dedicated to building up Kirino and Kyousuke’s romantic relationship, so there can be no complaints that it came out of nowhere. Moreover, a good amount of emphasis is placed on showing why the Kousakas developed their feelings for one another. The real star here is season two episode thirteen, which is probably the only genuinely good episode in the latter half of season two. This episode takes the form of an extended flashback narrated by Kirino. According to her, she looked up to her brother as a child but became disillusioned with him as he tended increasingly towards laziness and mediocrity during his adolescence. By the time the chronological start of the series came about, she had come to view the real Kyousuke as an entirely separate person from the brother she once admired as a child. This, I gather, is why she has few inhibitions about thinking about him romantically. Now, obviously this flashback sequence does not provide a complete picture of why this incestuous relationship came about; for instance, it does not explain at all why Kyousuke has no problems thinking about his sister romantically. Even so, it does a genuinely good job of putting Kirino and Kyousuke’s romantic relationship in a more believable context, so the flashback is certainly beneficial to the show’s overall narrative.

Sadly, my praise ends there. While the motivations are fairly well done, the social aspect of the incest is seriously blundered. To see just how poorly this is handled, one need look no further than the aforementioned scene with Manami during the last episode. Since she is really the only character to express discontent with the idea of Kirino and Kyousuke’s incestuous relationship, Manami can be viewed as a sort of voice for society. She says more or less what you would expect any normal person to say in this situation: “I think it’s disgusting for siblings to be in a relationship.” If Manami’s statements led to some kind of real discussion about the implications of incest then perhaps I would be okay with this scene, but that is not what happens. Instead, Kyousuke bellows some impassioned nonsense about how he wants to “bring on that real sister end!” without ever meaningfully engaging with Manami’s ideas. Likewise, when Manami brings up the central question of what the Kousakas’ parents will think, Kyousuke responds with a shallow “Please don’t tell my dad! He’ll kill me!”
This is the crux of the issue. The writer appears to believe that merely mentioning that there are moral and social issues at play with incest is sufficient to make it acceptable. Kyousuke, Kirino, and, indeed, the show itself, seem to brush off these issues as though they are totally irrelevant. But, of course, they are not irrelevant. Imagine, if you will, if Vladimir Nabokov's seminal novel Lolita ended with the adult Humbert Humbert marrying 12-year-old Dolores Haze and the only reaction to this was one character who says “Ew, don’t do that.” Obviously, this example is completely absurd, but it is worryingly similar to what happens in Oreimo. Despite incest being a serious taboo (not as serious as pedophilia, but still heavily frowned upon), the only negative reaction it receives is from Manami, and she’s framed as the villain. Saori takes the middle ground, saying that she doesn’t really condone it but that she’s not going to try and stop it either, and everyone else says nothing negative at all. The only explanation I can see for why incest is treated this way in Oreimo is that the writer was only really interested in employing it at a purely shallow, fetishistic level. At the same time, though, he didn’t want to look bad so he pretended to treat it seriously by casually mentioning moral issues. Pure and simple, it’s bad, lazy writing.

In the end, Oreimo’s objectionable treatment of incest is, at best, tasteless, and at worst an active detriment to the entire brother-sister dynamic established by the first season. It’s not bad enough to ruin the show by itself—not for me at least—but combined with the deluge of other shortcomings present in this show’s ending, it seriously taints my viewpoint of the whole series. This is especially unfortunate because I liked the first season before I saw how things concluded—I really earnestly liked it. But I’ll be damned if I ever want to watch, or even think about this show again after witnessing this atrocity of an ending.

Congratulations, by making it here you do not pass go, you collect no money, and in fact you feel as if everything Oreimo has built up to is snatched from you like candy from a baby.

To any unfortunate viewers such as myself (didn't listen to the reviews)
If you want any semblance of enjoyment from this otherwise amazing show, Please stop your last ova at 21:10.

I promise you, should you watch past the point of no return you will feel as though you were promised a ride on a roller coaster, only to be taken on a rubber ducky across a pond.

However, I will say ... this. The finishing touches provided by these 3 OVAs did in fact help to tie up loose ends.

The ending is just atrocious.

So, we have reached the end of the phenomenon that was Oreimo. And even though it has been quite a ride with some interesting turns and twists that really made me think, I couldn’t help but feel more than a little underwhelmed by this conclusion. Sure, some of the resolutions given to specific characters are dramatic and even daring, but the very end constitutes nothing less than chickening out in a way that makes much of the story meaningless. Hell, this isn’t all that different from ‘it was all just a dream...’. I guess they had to follow the ending of the light novel ... series (of which I had heard some rumours), but still...

Perhaps, in retrospect, Oreimo tried to be too many things to too many people and it therefore failed to come together as a coherent whole. To wit, Oreimo combined at least all of the following elements:
1. A dysfunctional relationship between siblings Kyousuke and Kirino.
2. The otaku lifestyle in general and the degree to which this is frowned upon by Japanese society.
3. The somewhat disturbing phenomenon of ‘little sister eroge’, i.e. Japanese computer games in which an older brother pursues a romantic relationship with his younger sister, where both siblings are still under age.
4. The taboo on real-life romantic relationships between siblings in Japanese society.
5. A harem-style abundance of potential female love interests for the male ‘protagonist’ to choose from.

Element 1 was dealt with rather movingly in season 1, with Kyousuke going above and beyond the call of duty to help Kirino with her various problems. On some level, I wish the story could have had a happy ending right then and there.

Element 2 is not all that original a topic for an anime and it’s pretty hard to get enough mileage out of it to fill an entire series. Just give ‘Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu’ a try if you don’t believe me.

Element 3 in the end really seemed like little more than an eye-catcher. A girl still in middle school playing little sister eroge, but who also is on bad terms with her real-life older brother. It seemed intriguing when I first encountered it, but in the end I’m not all that sure what function this really had. Sure, there is some half-hearted comment that people should be allowed to have their own hobbies as long as they’re not hurting anyone, but at the same time this series doesn’t seem to dare to go all out and proclaim that incestuous relationships are all right. For what it’s worth, I would have welcomed some sort of moral stand by the writers of both the light novels and the anime that at the very least the age difference between the incestuous partners should be fairly small. I mean, if two more or less consenting almost-adults who happen to be siblings decide to get romantic with each other, then I suppose an argument could be made that they have the right to decide that for themselves. But some of the shots of fictitious little sister eroge included in Oreimo seem to focus on innocent, wide-eyed, eerily young-looking girls who jump willingly into the hairy arms of their much older brothers. That Kirino seems to get off on acting out the part of the older brother actively seducing (or at least encouraging) his younger sister is disturbing in itself, but at long as she doesn’t actively pursue young girls in real life it can be shrugged off as harmless. Unlike a certain female character with similar interests on ‘Boku wa Tomodachi Ga Sukunai’, I might add. But other than including the little sister eroge as a strange and in some cases disturbing phenomenon, I’m not sure what its function was in this series.

Element 4 seemed to be little more than a broad theme during the first season, but sneakily went for centre stage during the second season. And it’s exactly this key element that basically leads nowhere on a story level, since Oreimo neither fully embraces nor fully distances itself from incestuous relationships.
Even though it did succeed in changing at least one viewer’s mind on this subject: mine. As I hinted at in the previous paragraph, I’m not sure that an incest taboo between grown-ups can be justified, as long as anticonception is observed strenuously, so that no risk of deformed offspring exists. Many people will object that the idea of a romantic relationship between brother and sister is so gross that the legal ban on them marrying is fully justified. But is the degree to which anyone is grossed out by someone else’s choice of a marriage partner really a sufficient reason to legally ban such a marriage? After watching Oreimo, I no longer think so. Not too long ago, marriages between people of different races were considered abhorrent. And only recently are gay marriages becoming legal in some parts of the world. And very many people probably still consider them gross, I fear. Then again, only incestuous relationships carry the greatly increased risk of producing genetically impaired offspring. True, but how does a marriage ban prevent a *relationship*? It doesn’t, so that only the sense of responsibility of the romantic couple in question can prevent unhealthy children from being conceived. The only thing the marriage ban accomplishes is that it forces these relationships to go underground, or, perhaps even worse, forces the siblings in question to have insincere relationships with others while always yearning for the one they really love. And what’s the point of that?

Element 5 has led to many bitter arguments between fans of Kirino, Kuroneko, Ayase, Saori and maybe even Kanako and Manami. I guess the writer was asking for that, by including this ‘dating game’ element. Many fans seemed to treat this as some sort of tournament, with a relationship with Kyousuke as the trophy for their heroin. I do not share that approach, nor do I have any particular favourite among the many love interests for Kyousuke. I liked all of the female characters in their own right, but felt that the writers made it pretty clear from early on in this series that there were very few likely candidates for Kyousuke. It was only when the incest motif became more dominant that I realized Kirino was the only serious contender. I am not spoiling whether or not she was indeed Kyousuke’s choice. I will repeat the statement from my review of Season 2 that Kuroneko was never a serious contender, even though she briefly had a relationship with Kyousuke. Much as I liked her as someone for Kirino to argue with, it was abundantly clear that there was no match between Kuroneko and Kyousuke. Where Kuroneko was stuck in goth anime, goth costumes and even a goth ‘Destiny Record’ that described lots of rituals that she and Kyousuke had to complete in order for their relationship to bloom, Kyousuke was mostly interested in how soon he could touch her nipples. And when she changed to the dress of an angel which she had sown herself and asked Kyousuke how she looked, he could only comment that it ‘made her boobs look bigger’.... How much more clear could the mismatch between them have been? Does that mean that I am a Kuroneko-hater? No, not at all. I’m simply repeating what the writer thought about the chances of Kyousuke and Kuroneko being right for each other.

The art and music were identical to season 2, with perhaps some new songs at the end. I still felt that the faces of the various characters could have been made to look less generic. Example: at some point Saori leans out of a car and she might as well have been Ayase. And with blond hair she could just as well have been Kirino. Compare this to the much more subtle animation of characters’ faces on ‘Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai’.

In the end, Oreimo as a whole turned out to be a series that tried to combine too many elements and ended up saying too little about some of them, including the most important one ( a definite stance on sibling relationships), while leaving many secondary characters underdeveloped. And after almost 30 episodes over the course of two seasons and some OVA, that is a really sad point to end this story.

This ending while maybe not that bad on its own is brutal to watch largely because the rest of the series makes you care about the quality of these and about the characters that are involved and because even after going through the dissapointment of watching them it ruins any meaning or point by invalidating the entire relationship it builds. And while i can agree that this wasnt that bad from a technical perspective the reason people watch shows is for enjoyment so i dont see that as even coming close to compensating for the lack of enjoyment in this end. Also i get that ... i like a lot of others was biased by what i wanted to happen, but i would have been more satisfied if he grabbed literally anyone even a random bystander than with this, these were like being bludgeoned to death for an empty wallet by the end largely due to how it negated their relationship after killing everything else

The ending of Oreimo season 2 is probably one of the misunderstood endings. Don't get me wrong, it not a perfect ending, but it deserves much more praise.
*SPOILERS*
I personally found the ending to be very realistic. Kirino and Kyousuke love each other, but it's not socially acceptable for siblings to be in a relationship. Manami helps make this point very clear to the viewer. Other people show a mixed reaction towards their relationship. Because of this, the two decide to get ... married in secret and become normal siblings again. Near the very end, Kyousuke gives Kirino a kiss on the cheek to show that he still loves her, and Kirino's reaction does the same.
Now the viewer might ask "Why did Kyousuke turn down all those girls only to have a short relationship with his sister?"
Kyousuke said he wasn't the protagonist of an eroge. He wouldn't be able to run away from home with his sister when his parents found out. He wouldn't know what to say 10 or 20 years in the future about marrying his sister. This short relationship was the only way he could make Kirino know that he loved her and valued her more than anyone else.
Sure it's not a picture perfect ending, but the two siblings now have a promising future and have fully healed their distant relationship.

About love. Dramatic. Lot of cute moment happened, making heart racing in moment you don't expect. Depend on how it is interpreted, it also has some moral value.

Be honest with your feeling. Have plan for the future. Believe in yourself and try to make dream come true. Resolve the problems, not to run from it. No matter how hard the problem is, you ... can always resolve it somehow. Whether it become a favorable resolve or unfavorable one.

The pacing is fast that will probably let the viewer not boring watching it. If you still don't get spoiled from somewhere, there is a lot of unexpected event that occur, making it interesting to be watched. Lot of emotional moment happened. The characters experience a lot of different feeling. Watching this can also create unique feeling after watching the show, whether it is happy, empty, disappointed or mix of those feelings. The music is as good as always, with talented seiyuu like Kanazawa Hana and Taketatsu Ayana sing the ED songs. It is very recommended.

I’m not going to use arbitrary numbers since that’s not going to help you understand what I just watched. Well, this is it. The end of this week long journey. Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai (or Oreimo [or My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute])’s final 3 episodes. Everyone lost their god damned minds, but in the end logic and reason prevailed in this tale of weird situations and awkward misunderstandings. I was near the end of my rope when I thought all hope was lost, but in the end it wrapped up the series the best way it could. Setting ... aside the “what if”s, “should have”s, or “if only”s it ended up in a much different place than I expected.

Art’s the same, sound’s the same, done. I feel like the potential was wasted and the story is less effective as a result, but despite what you may have read in other reviews I believe that asspull at the end justified all the craziness of these 3 episodes. I feel like the series should have ended on the note at the end of the second season, because that would have avoided me throwing my arms up and screaming “everyone’s an idiot!” but who cares. I certainly don’t at this point, because some crazy shit goes down for the finale. If nothing else, watch it for that. Luckily the characters in the show were very aware of how unnatural the Kousaka siblings’ relationship was (even they did) so that’s a healthy dose of sanity I’d been craving. Maybe if I rewatch it, it won’t be as bad the second time around. All I all, as a final sum up: this show made me laugh, smile, get emotional and occasionally pull my hair out. I don’t regret a thing.

What I thought were undertones were blatant expressions of affection. Not my cup of tea (I usually drink a robust Irish Breakfast), but if you’re into that whole “siblings can be lovers” thing, go right ahead.

Firstly, please do not hate this series because its end was not what you expected!


I honestly don't know why people hate this ending so much. If you dislike the entire show it's fine and understable.
However, if you dislike only these last 3 episodes there is a problem. Let's be real: it's still a slice of life and how impossible it may sound, after all the things that happened, this anime managed to end in a pretty realistic way.


To be honest with you, dear readers, I hate all the damned characters. Simply put: all of them are ARGHHHH, stupid and very annoying. ALL OF ... THEM.
This anime is a joke. But at the end I felt good. I laughed at this joke and I thought about it. The conclusion? The characters from this joke stayed true to themselves.


What did you expect? Read the title again and again and again. Of course he will not choose the loli-chuunibyou grill or the yantsun one or God knows what is your ship.

Like Kirino said so many times: "It's disgusting!". They know what they feel and do is not normal, but I'll not judge them. You know why: I can't disapprove when I've seen how much they love and cherish each other.
I think their feelings are genuine and very strong, but they still made the right decision.

At the end the situation is still the same, but all the characters are different and I truly appreciate it.

For Kyousuke and Kirino, they tasted the forbidden fruit and they still managed to turn back to their normal life.
There was no future for their relationship and they knew it.


I do not regret watching this anime and you shouldn't, either.
If you felt something at the end (anger, emptiness or happiness) it means the ending wasn't as bad as the majority think.

OKAY , I have watched the entire series of Oreimo and I find it interesting, exciting and thrilling and all the words that has the same meaning as those three words. Up until now I presume you people already watched the first and second seasons and are loving it like hell! I myself am so absorbed in this anime. Most of my ... favorite Voice Actors are in this anime too. Well I have to admit this anime is truly awesome in many ways . I'll rate it as a MASTERPIECE !

Okay, the season 2 of Oreimo is a safe zone. Those final 3 episodes are gonna kill your feelings and turn them into dirt. Literally!! Unlike most harems, where the main character (MC for short) is a lady killer, and stealing the hearts of many characters of opposite sex and building his harem but end too dumb, or are too dense and thick-headed to see it, or pick one of them that the MC truly desires most (but I dont really dislike or hate harems that are this type, where many beautiful girls flock on a single guy though). In the end Kyousuke chooses the girl he fancies most and turn down the others, which is quite unusual if you ask me in most harems.

If you have watched the entire series including the three final episodes of Oreimo, Kyousuke turns down 4 girls that have their own specialty and secure future life like a model, a great cook, a programmer, writer and an Idol!
But in the end, he choose his dear little sister Kirino like its title "My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute". The way Kyousuke confess his love and proposed to Kirino was a little crappy, but hey! it's sweet, cute and Kyousuke had the balls to do it in public.Ii know incest is something that is rejected in society, and you will be in deep shit if you're found out. Okay... I was so absorbed in this anime that at the point that I approved their incestuous relationship.

After all they have been through?! After all the sacrifices Kyousuke did?!
He rejected 4 amazing girls that had a guaranteed long lasting relationship to be with his little sister for just a few weeks? f**k !!!! The moment Kirino took off the ring and explained that everything was just a fake happy ending was the start of everything going down the shredder machine and shredded everything back to square one. They even said '' I LOVE YOU '' to each other and KISSED. The start of the story and the ending almost had no difference. Many viewers and character fans were displeased with the ending.

It was nerve wracking. After I watched everything, my emotions went wild and I couldn't calm down until I watched another good anime to get my mind out of it. I was so out of control that I cursed everything in my sight! I went berzerk for a few days until I calmed down. This is the feeling you might experience after watching it.

What really ticked me was NOBODY WINS ! What about the girls left out there to just cry? I feel their cries because it's just too sad for them. I could feel their pain. It just doesn't make any sense!! The only one winning is the haters that hate Oreimo and just happy watching it fall and getting bashed at.

Be warned, go with the sweet incomplete truth, the heart breaking truth of Oreimo.

The episodes are pretty good like most other episodes in the series. So if you like the other episodes you should like these. It's that last episode's very last 2-3 minutes, which outraged pretty much everyone, including myself. There is a reason, the publisher wouldn't let the author write the ending he wanted, which is in the link below. Many say the real ending is in the Tsuzuku PSP game, look on YouTube and look for dizzy ziddy's play ... through. If you watch the play through of the last chapter(s) and read the interview, you should come away feeling okay about the ending, but not thrilled either.
