The protagonist, while somewhat of a blank slate, exhibits unique qualities, like his skepticism towards the supernatural and his trigger word that sparks determination. The diverse cast of girls, including a narcissist, carpenter, animal friendly girl, and more, contributes to the overall chemistry, making the interactions engaging.

The episodic nature, featuring various mini-plots, further enhances the charm. From murder mysteries to shonen battles and lighthearted misunderstandings, the characters serve as perfect catalysts for these adventures. While the formula isn't groundbreaking, it consistently executes it well, a feat many harems struggle to achieve.

The comedy adheres to the harem formula, with the protagonist frequently caught in humorous situations due to misunderstandings or external troubles. What sets it apart is its ability to maintain viewer engagement through music, animation, dialogue, and facial expressions, creating a vibrant and enjoyable tempo throughout each episode.

The romance aspect is handled uniquely. Rather than relying on the tired trope of the nice guy, the girls are drawn to the protagonist out of necessity, given the isolated island setting. This fresh perspective prevents the harem aspect from feeling clichéd or forced, adding to the overall charm.

Instead, it clearly designates the main romantic interest from the outset, allowing the other characters to contribute to the entertainment without diluting the central narrative.

Lastly, the aesthetic adds to its charm. Despite not being a visual masterpiece, its execution, including suitable music, basic yet well-timed character expressions, and competent dialogue, contributes to its overall appeal.

In summary, Nagasarete Airantou may not be considered a great anime by conventional standards, but it holds a unique charm that elevates it beyond a shallow attempt at garnering merchandise sales. It excels at consistently executing familiar harem tropes, providing a comforting and enjoyable viewing experience. This, to me, encapsulates the elusive harem charm that many others in its genre may lack.

The ending was just terrible. like what was the whole point of it, all that emotional build up just for that?? The characters were for the most part pretty bland. The only girl i actually cared about was Suzu as she actually cared about the MC and his feelings. Everybody else just cared about themselves. Some episodes are entirely skippable as they didn't add to the story. Like around halfway through the anime it felt like they gave up. Mostly because the plot dropped off dramatically, like the whole spa episode you could skip along with others. The MC at least wasn't all that ... pathetic and weak, like he actually started training when he saw himself as weak. Overall the series as a whole was pretty average but still enjoyable if you've never seen it before. 6/10.

I am a petty person. When particular series gets on my nerves, I usually just drop it. If it's very annoying, I write a bad review for it. And, in some cases, to which Nagasarete Airantou belong, make me drop it, forget it for the next 2 years, then get reminded of it and get so annoyed at myself for wasting time with it that I write a bad review for it. Well, here goes my rant.
This series is mediocre. Honestly, if I wasn't sure this series doesn't deserve 5 ovarall score I would pick it just for the description of the mark, "mediocre".
It's ... not explicitly graphic with adult material.
As a result, this is as harem as real life would get when you ended up in all-female village. There's actually a girlfiend character here, too.
It's jokes are weak, and, what's worse,the storywriters don't understand the concept of freshness of a joke.
Characters are not deep (yes, they are not. fuck all of the other reviewers that wrote otherwise. I pray that you get married to a fucking Dynasty Warriors mob unit, if this is what you call deep.), they are a straightforward encyclopedia of cliches.
art is... well, it's appropiate for second-rate harem.

To sum it up, this is one of those shows that i'm angry about that they get 2 cour worth of episodes when there are much better (comedy, romance, ecchi, story, whatever-wise) series out there getting only 12 eps, or none at all.
