Cardfight!! Vanguard: Link Joker-hen

What makes Cardfight Vanguard an exceptional anime is its diverse and well-developed cast of characters. In the Link Joker season, this aspect is significantly enhanced alongside the plot. This season prioritizes the friends of our protagonist, Aichi Sendou, giving them more screen time and deeper character development. Through the incidents that unfold, viewers get to explore the history and chemistry between these background characters, leading to some of the most memorable and intense card fights in the series.

Unlike the first and second season, "Link Joker" has a more dark and eerie theme to it. This season adds a new card mechanic to series, but also ... manages to somewhat teach the game rules in the early episodes. So if you're looking to learn about the TCG all while enjoying the plot of the story, then be prepared cause the anime will not hold your hand.

That being said, I really did enjoy this series and those who enjoy TCG anime should un-deniably give this anime a shot!

I was waiting for this to happen. Cardfight: Vanguard finally has a full-size plot.
In former series the characters just participated in tournaments and rescued the world (or even entire universe). Now they are at school, starting their own cardfighting club.
I like the new plot mainly because it features life of high-school students (a very popular theme in manga and anime). There are new characters and some background characters now become foreground. What's more I think that the characters have become some kind of more mature (they are in high-school after all).
I think that art has slightly improved compared to the former series.
What is really good ... about this series is that it simply makes me laugh. It's just funny.
I really hope for some more 'slice of life' themes in the upcoming episodes, though playing 'Vanguard' still remains the main theme for the series.
For those who like Trading Card Games it's really worth watching.

I have quite mixed feelings about about this one. For one thing, the writing and character development is phenomenally terrible, all the characters are so unlikeable, especially the protagonist, during the last arc of the season when the world is at stake and they keep going on about a time limit, whilst everyone else is fighting hard to save the world, the protagonist decides to go home, mope and sleep. Aichi has never been a great protagonist due to his lack of a backbone but this season seemed to make everything so much more unwatchable. And after spending all of Season 2 (Asia Circuit) trying ... to get his Royal Paladin deck back… he doesn’t even use it. Plus as I have primarily watched D Series, the slow pace of the older seasons and card fights really does drag out. I do want to find things to like about this and I do like how they progressed a lot more Kourin’s storyline during this season but I think you’ll find there are more negatives than positives.
